Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If the life of the mother is at risk and in cases of rape and incest.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Founding Father's individually and collectively had incredible knowledge and understanding of history, philosophy, past governments and Human Nature. Their morality and commitment to individual rights has never been matched and they were collectively committed to creating a government that was restrained from infringing our individual rights and was very limited in its powers, via the Constitution.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was born, baptized and raised in the Lutheran faith and am an Elder at Immanuel Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) in Seymour. I believe that we have an obligation to be productive and live up to our abilities, along with an obligation to be charitable to our fellow man. I also believe that people have a right to live their life as they see fit, as long as they don't encroach or infringe upon others.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am known for my unwavering stance on our gun rights and have gained national recognition for my leadership on this issue. I have been endorsed by Indiana Right to Life in each election and maintain a 100% rating with them. I believe the Austrian Economic standard should be the economic model for our country and I believe that our country should abide by the gold standard for our currency. I would implement the Fairtax and allow vastly increased competition in the market place for healthcare and education, while phasing out government intervention. I believe that the Bill of Rights Preamble is perhaps the single most important statement ever written in regards to our individual rights being protected.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Implement the Fairtax, decrease onerous regulation, lower taxes and quit punishing the productive. Implement a welfare to work program and quit subsidizing inefficiency.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Start phasing government out of healthcare and allow/encourage competition in the healthcare industry. Let people buy health insurance that is tailored to their needs across state lines. Encourage the return of the individual family doctor with small personal clinics and greatly decrease onerous bureaucracy. Phase out the third party payer system and start putting that control back into the hands of the individual. Encourage the use of insurance for catastrophic events only and quit having insurance pay for normal everyday occurrences.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Implement the Fairtax, then get out of the way and hold accountable those that abuse the system through cronyism, deceit or fraud. Let businesses succeed and let them fail, and quit propping up businesses that should be allowed to fail. Lower taxes and eliminate bureaucracy and onerous regulations.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have been married for 24 years and have 3 children and two grandchildren. I am an Elder at my church, having earned the trust of my congregation and I stay involved in our community. I am a Marine Corps veteran and have owned/operated my small business for 18 years. I currently have 8 employees and have personally signed and been responsible for thousands of payroll checks in the past 18 years. That responsibility builds character, trust and good values, or else I wouldn't still be in business. I have held this office of State Representative for the past 6 years and love serving the People and I want to continue to serve.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
As a State Representative, I have shown courage and leadership on tough issues and have always called things the way I see them. I am not a polished politician, but just an average, middle class family man that owns his own business who got fed up with government and decided to get involved to make a difference. I believe in personal responsibility, accountability and individual charity. I believe the Constitution, as written is the law and I also believe in individual rights and a very limited government. I love serving the people and want to continue to do so.
