QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I oppose abortion. I know that life begins at conception and seek to see that reflected in our Constitution more clearly. In all cases both lives matter.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
It's important to differentiate on a point. In the Masterpiece Cakeshop decision, the SCOTUS held that Colorado had violated the shop owner's religious freedom because he refused to provide a wedding cake for a homosexual couple. I agree with the Court's decision. The shop owner did not refuse to sell cakes - just a custom-decorated wedding cake. I agree that the public accommodation cases were rightly decided. Citizens should have access to commerce without discrimmination.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The state exists to protect the rights of its citizens. America's founders rightly recognized that all people are endowed by God (our Creator) with certain inalienable rights; that among them are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The 1st Amendment begins with a defense of religious freedom in two clauses: non-establishment and free exercise. America, therefore, is obligated to protect the rights of religious minorities by refusing to establish one religion over another. This is not a requirement to exclude religion from civic life, and that should be obvious by the free exercise clause. America must protect the rights of its citizens to not only hold religious beliefs but to freely exercise their beliefs. Religious freedom is rightly protected in America's Constitution. In my view, the church should engage in civic life to such a degree that little government is necessary. For example, if the church is more effective at caring for the sick, the poor, orphans, widows, etc. the need for far less effective and more morally destructive approaches from government is diminished. The church should pray for leaders as described in scripture. And, the church should inform its members about the impact of public policy without fear of reprisal. Repealing the 16th Amendment would eliminate one of the coercive tools used to silence the church.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C. The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. While there are opportunities to help other countries, America should not fight their wars for them and should seek to minimize war and the spread of war. A very strong military, unrivaled intelligence services, and a far more effective State Department are essential to this task. As Scripture says, there is a time for war. Whenever America goes to war, our nation should be at war, not just our military. For that to happen, Congress must declare or authorize our wars and keep the military accountable for winning not just waging war.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Continue the tactics that work. The strategy and tactics used to defeat ISIS are working. America should reject the nation-building approaches used in Afghanistan and Iraq.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
1. While the US military should not require COVID19 vaccinations as a condition of service, due to such a low risk assessment from COVID for the young, fit, healthy people in uniform, I support the military purpose of vaccinations. As an Army Ranger, I was vaccinated against all sorts of things. I could have refused them, but I could not do that a remain in the unit. I agree with the principle, but not always the practice (eg COVID19 vaccines). 2. Some healthcare positions require interaction with vulnerable people who must be in the healthcare setting to receive care. I agree that employers should be able to require some healthcare workers to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. Medicare and Medicaid should remain available; however, both require substantial reform.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I have introduced legislation (a Constitutional Amendment) to repeal the 16th Amendment. It is an abusive invasion of privacy and an ineffective means of taxation. This would eliminate the coercive nature of tax credits, deductions, and incentives used to manipulate and divide people. While I support a more functional social safety net, the tax code should not be redistributive. Another implication of eliminating the 16th Amendment is an end to capital gains taxes. I support a transition towards consumption taxes upon the elimination of the 16th Amendment. One such model is the “Fair Tax”. To replace lost revenue and keep existing promises for Social Security and Medicare, upon the elimination of the 16th Amendment, I favor increases in payroll taxes by eliminating or raising the cap (which is currently $147,000). Lastly, I have cosponsored legislation to repeal the death tax completely. It is immoral and unjust. These changes to the tax code would help restore federalism, leaving more options available to states and less coercive power available for the federal government.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Border security is national security. The physical infrastructure investments made while Donald Trump was President work well and should be expanded. Moreover, the policies enabled the people charged with this responsibility to secure the border much more effective.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
My Stop the Cartels Act would do that, among other things.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
America should be a welcoming country. With a secure border, an end to sanctuary cities, and better enforcement for people who remain in America illegally, we should separate border security from immigration. At that point, I favor a conditional visa, applied for outside of America only, for all who qualify with clear identity verification and clean background checks that would: end birthright citizenship and eliminate eligibility for any means-tested program, but allow the holder to work or go to school in the US for 4 years. A felony conviction would revoke the visa and require departure, but good conduct would provide a green card and path to citizenship. Finally, the path to citizenship should not cost tens of thousands of dollars and take more than a decade for people who follow our laws and choose this visa.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
And, prosecuted with due process if they commit crimes whether on or off duty.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Mental health is underfunded. Raiding police funding is not an acceptable way to fund mental health.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The 2nd Amendment only.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a conservative Republican. I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Some very conservative people fall outside those criteria.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
More freedom, less government, and sound money.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As Job 19:25 says, "I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth." I committed to following Christ to the best of my ability at 3:34 am on 19 August 1987. To succinctly describe my doctrine, Ephesians 2:1-10. How do I translate that into my values? I strive to live a fully integrated life. My first ministry focus is my family. Before the fall, God gave Adam work to do. I strive to honor God in my work, in how I treat others, in shaping our cultures, and in being excellent at the work itself. I sometimes fail, but I always strive. I grow with others via regular church and small groups. In public policy, the political left has maintained a progressive attack on faith that is well contrasted by the differences between the persuasive language of Christian faith used in Uncle Tom's Cabin to help end slavery and the toxic, hostile to Christian faith in our debates of today. We need leaders who can protect religious liberty for all by ensuring that government is limited to its Constitutionally enumerated powers.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I have introduced a Constitutional Amendment to require that electoral maps are drawn based on citizens, not just people. States like California have more representation because they have more non-citizens. Moreover, sanctuary cities increase Democratic Party representation solely on the basis of higher population counts in urban areas - with higher concentrations of Democrats. So, first, get the maps based only on American citizens. Second, require voter ID for federal elections. State legislatures have the Constitutional responsibility for elections. Individuals, non-profits, political parties, judges, and bureaucrats cannot alter election laws that undermine election integrity according to the law. Lastly, no state is so sovereign that it can fail to protect the principle of one-person, one-vote. I cannot comprehend how a state can provide that assurance when they cannot even identify who voted.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism inspires hatred, and that not only inspires violence but is often used as justification. The left is working to call everything racist for three reasons: 1) they want to fundamentally remake America, so systemic racism is being used as a justification to remake all of our institutions, 2) they use it to silence actual debate on substance, 3) there are still some racists that help them make their arguments. To completely annihilate their arguments, and preserve the English language, we should rightly condemn actual racists.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
I favor reasonable due diligence, but America can and must be energy independent.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. The Trump Administration was trending in the right direction. The policies of the Biden Administration must be reversed as a priority when Republicans take back the House.
