QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Did not answer
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
We need to ensure social security payments already made are protected so the funds will be available to those Taxpayers who paid in, and allow future generations an alternative of investing their SS into private investment and pension funds, so they may receive a greater rate of return.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
There are numerous programs which have been funded over the years, but haven't used all the funds. Some of these have fund balances going back three decades. These funds should be returned to the treasury to reduce the federal deficit. Secondly, there are numerous programs that are still being funded annually, but are no longer active and should be cut. Most programs are able to be run more efficiently by states. We should begin to identify these programs and return them to state control
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Did not answer
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
This phrase comes from a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association ensuring them that the federal government would not establish it's own denomination of the Christian church, as was done in England. Prior to our Independence, the English government only recognized the official Church of England, and would often oppress other church denominations. Jefferson was assuring the Baptist Association in Danbury, Connecticut that all denominations would receive the same protection of rights under the Constitution. Jefferson was acknowledging that the government would not exert influence or control over the Christian church in the United States; but nowhere did he state or imply that the government was to be totally separate from the influence of the church.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Significantly reduce the federal government's influence over health insurance and return the primary regulatory role to state's insurance commissioners. We must also reduce the number of government mandates on minimum coverage, allow insurance companies to offer cafeteria style plans where consumer chooses best coverage for their needs. Federal and State governments should also allow for alternative health care plans that allow consumers to shop for the best care, service, and price. Health savings accounts should also be expanded to allow for consumers to pay for health care services with cash, since many services are heavily discounted if the patient doesn't use insurance.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Anti-terrorism policy is a multifaceted issue that cannot be answered in a short paragraph; however, some of the major issues that I have worked on while in Congress are highlighted below: 1. Stop the flow of terrorist travel into the U.S. by enhanced screening of individuals traveling from known terrorist supporting nations, and enhance our border security. 2. Improve cooperation between state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies to help identify potential terrorist organizations and efforts to radicalize individual U.S. citizens. 3. Provide security clearances for local and state law enforcement officials to enhance communications of potential threats within the US. 4. Allow members of the U.S. Military to arm themselves when on duty. 5. Eliminate U.S. funding to any nation that is known to provide financial or logistical support to known terrorist organizations (i.e. Lebanon)
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States is not only the land of opportunity, but also the land of freedom. While we welcome those seeking freedom, liberty, security and opportunity, we must limit those who come seeking citizenship or permanent status in the United States. Immigration should be limited and prioritized based on several factors. Priority should be to those who are truly seeking asylum from oppressive governments, whose lives are threatened by their government. For those seeking to immigrate to the U.S. to realize the unlimited potential for success and financial prosperity, we should implement a merit-based system that helps to identify individuals with skills, education and experience needed in the U.S. Other categories of immigration should be based on the merit of the individual, and limited to that individual and their immediate family only.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, without question, racism is a threat to our safety and security. Our Founders established this nation on one sound principle, that our rights are given to us by God, and that He created us all equally, and no individual has more rights than anyone else. When we, as a nation, prioritize anyone -based on their race- above anyone else, then we have violated that core principle of liberty and justice for all.
