14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Jeremiah 17:9 describes the basic sin nature of mankind as "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" The Founders understood that after the fall of Adam in the garden that greed had entered into the heart of man and that he would continually seek gain even at the expense of violating the rights of others. Therefore; the founders separated the powers of the civil authority into three branches of government as defined in Isaiah 33:22.
15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
National Debt: This is threatening the nation's security as well as the future liberties of all Americans. The debt and deficit spending is quickly moving our nation towards a national fiscal crisis. Balanced Budget Amendment: History has proven that no legislative body will voluntarily restrict its power or reduce its ability to control or spend money. We must have a balanced budget amendment that will force Congress to live within its means and reduce the national debt. Significantly reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government: The massive growth of the influence and size of the federal government is putting a strain on our economy, violating the liberty of our citizens, threatening the sovereignty of the states, and creating a lethargic and immoral people.
16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
As the Founding Fathers believed and wrote extensively on this matter, I believe that life begins at conception, and it is the responsibility of government to protect life at any stage. In the case of the life of the mother, this decision should be totally left to the mother and the father of the unborn child.

18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe, as did the Founding Fathers, that there is a law that precedes and is superior to man's written laws. That law was defined by the Founders as the "Natural Law," which is God's laws as written in the scriptures. I also believe that God is the sovereign over all men and nations, and we are ultimately accountable to him for all our actions, regardless of national allegiance, religious affiliation or status in society. I believe that all men are divinely created in the image of God and his love abounds; but He is also just, and we are accountable for our sins. I further believe that God gave us the ultimate sacrifice for the remission of our sins through the birth, death and resurrection of His son, Jesus.
