18. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The sinful nature of all people causes an inclination to constantly seek power over others for personal gain, but ultimately to the detriment of others. The natural path of things is for tyranny to increase and liberty decrease. The system established is designed to, at minimum, slow this progression away from freedom.

21. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in the Triune God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I am a sinner. If it was not for the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, I would be condemned to hell for eternity. Instead, purely out of the grace of God and nothing that is good in me or that I could ever earn, I have the gift of eternal life awaiting me in heaven. My faith is a free gift that comes 100% from God. For a distinct representation of my beliefs, see the Apostles, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds.
