QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Strongly Disagree
Planned Parenthood founded by Margaret Sanger believed in eugenics — an inherently racist and ableist ideology that labeled certain people unfit to have children. While Planned Parent contends, they've aren't racist, proportionally many more black children are aborted. With a proven track record of destroying life, schools should block any instruction or service from them or other abortion providers.
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Remember we all regardless of the color of our skin, religion, age, male or female are made in the image and likeness of God; life is precious.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
“Thou shalt not steal” of the Ten Commandments established the right to private property. As Adam Smith and John Adams argued--it's made for moral people. The free-market system encourages the development of new products to support the community's needs.
School districts should be able to use taxpayer money for lobbying the state legislature.
Agree
School districts should have a means to support their district's needs, thus lobbying the state legislature is necessary. This is same as my actions as a Lieutenant Colonel at the Pentagon persuading Congressional staffers to support the Air Force's budget requests.
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
Our founding fathers knew of the principle of social organization, Subsidiarity, which holds that social and political issues should be dealt with at the most immediate or local level that is consistent with their resolution. The Federal Department of Education is relatively new. The states, counties, and cities/municipalities are best suited to determine funding and guidance for their public education K-12. Too many times we've witnessed the Federal government's education initiatives resulting in unintended consequences, often distracting attention from basic education. The states should be free to supplement colleges.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Strongly Agree
Free speech is a fundamental element of a free society. Students should be able to express their opinions, faith, and ideas without fear of retaliation. Civil discourse fosters understanding, binds people together by removing veils, and promotes courage.
School districts should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Marriage of one man and one woman is basic element of society. As the family goes so goes the nation. By encouraging the norms of marriage—monogamy, sexual exclusivity, and permanence—the state strengthens civil society and reduces its own role. Marriage supports the truth that men and women are complementary, the biological fact that reproduction depends on a man and a woman, and the reality that children need a mother and a father.
EDUCATION
What is the function of the local school board?
To select a superintendent, set his/her policies, and approve budgets to establish a safe learning environment where virtues, self-reliance, and children learn to be productive members of society.
Who should have the authority to set curriculum and determine resources used in those curricula?
In broad terms, the state should set academic standards with the local school district determining the curriculum to meet or better those academic standards. Parents, clergy, businesses, teachers, and public office holders should play a part in formulating the curriculum. We also need to look at alternatives to the factory school system.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Parents should be afforded the opportunity to speak at all school board meetings. Robert's rules of order provide procedures for civil discourse. I recommend we follow them.
Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): Mathematics, Information Technology, Science, Political Activism, Personal Finances, Gender Identity, Physical Fitness, American History, Critical Race Theory, Language Arts, Art & Music, Vocational Learning, Sexuality, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
While I taught math here is my order: Language Arts, Mathematics, American History, Science, Vocational Learning, Information Technology, Foreign Language, Art & Music, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness
Which more closely matches your view of America's founding principles? A) Liberty and equality. B) Slavery and racism.
Liberty & Equality
What does "equity in education" mean to you?
As a teacher it means helping the struggling students do better but not to lower standards or expectations.
Written parental consent (opt-in) must be obtained before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
Strongly Agree
This conforms to NC law.
The loss of local control in education is too high a price to pay in exchange for federal dollars.
Strongly Agree
Our founding fathers knew of the principle of social organization, Subsidiarity, which holds that social and political issues should be dealt with at the most immediate or local level that is consistent with their resolution. The Federal Department of Education is relatively new. The states, counties, and cities/towns are best suited to determine funding and guidance for public education K-12. Many of the Federal government requirements have adverse impacts on students, parents, and teachers.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Strongly Agree
I support parental rights regarding their children. The US courts have recognized that becoming a mother or a father creates a duty to care for one's own child. This duty means that parents have a "fundamental right" to direct the care, upbringing and education of their own children. Parents have a sphere of sovereignty over their children into which the state cannot intrude.
School boards are accountable to parents and taxpayers.
Strongly Agree
As Abraham Lincoln said--government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. This means school boards are accountable.
Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school.
Yes
Yes, easily accessible.
VALUES
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Striving to follow Jesus by keeping God first, family second, country/others third, and me last.
No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent.
Strongly Agree
Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?
Parents are responsible. Your second question is phased wrong. It depends on the child and their maturity. Once the child asks about anything sexual it's time to discuss sex.
If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- Physical and emotional health outcomes; contraceptive methods; consent; abstinence; sexual orientation and gender identity; human anatomy/the reproductive system; abortion methods and side effects; stages of pregnancy and fetal development; sex acts and pleasures of sex
While I'm not in favor of public-school teachers teaching Sex Ed, teens should hear about the brutally of abortion and its side effects.
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
John Adams, observed, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Many of our Founders were men of faith or were influenced strongly by the Judeo-Christian tradition. They accepted the premise of mankind’s imperfect nature. They had experienced first-hand the oppressive dictates of Parliament and the Crown that led to the American Revolution.
I support allowing public middle and high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Stick to biology not feelings.
Biological males should be allowed in female locker rooms and bathrooms.
Strongly Disagree
No school official should be involved in the social or medical transitioning of a student, including the use of alternative names and pronouns.
Strongly Agree
New NC State law Parents Rights fixed this.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
NC State Law requires a photo ID to vote.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
By the way, there are some conservatives whose foreign policy I don't share. I'm skeptical of the U.N. and the CIA undermining democratically elected governments.
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Why am I running? Our community cannot continue to accept a student performance failure where 9.4 % of our students meet the state standard in math 1 and 11.2% of black and Hispanic students in 3rd grade reading. This type of performance undermines our children's future. Students know they are failing, thus demoralizing them. Children should be learning to read by the end of the third grade, for afterwards they are reading to learn. Furthermore, for the past 15 years, I've focused on helping children as a teacher, volunteer pilot, and monitoring CMS. Look, teachers are leaving as well as students. Even our NC legislature recognizes this. I hope to save our public schools. Why am I qualified? With leadership success as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel combat fighter pilot and defense planner plus as a program and marketing manager in a Fortune 101 company, I will be an effective change agent. Also, as a licensed and experienced middle and high school teacher in North Carolina, I know the challenges of teaching, school administration, and parental concerns for the safety and success of their children. I have the leadership, teamwork, and in school experience and drive to help the CMS Board, administrators, teachers and parents to work together to focus on our children’s academic success. What are my goals? I'm committed to moving classroom lessons to an education designed for self-reliance and post high school success. My goals: 1. Hold CMS leadership accountable for student performance and transparency. 2. Invigorate the student-teacher-parent relationship to include parental rights and values. 3. Create an environment that values classical education, the child development process, and age-appropriate learning materials. 4. Respect the code of student conduct for safe and productive classrooms while retaining good teachers.
A candidate's personal moral values are relevant when considering a candidacy for elective office.
Strongly Disagree
Moral leadership is in high demand but short supply. Office holders that demonstrate higher levels of moral leadership have stronger connections with colleagues.

2ND AMENDMENT
Teachers who are licensed to carry should be allowed to carry guns at school.
Choose not to answer
If you mean concealed carry, I agree; however, open carry could scare students and fellow teachers. This needs to be studied.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Under what circumstances (if any) should schools be allowed to require vaccinations?
Schools and governments have lost the trust of their citizens. They've been proven to tout bad science. Answer is None.
I support mask mandates.
Strongly Disagree
They've been proven to be ineffective and bring a false sense of security. They impair communication and prevent emotional signaling, especially between a teacher and a student. They result in the formation of acne. If you wear a mask for a long time, a mix of sweat and saliva, and other particles will probably stay in a congested area of your lower face.
All official open meetings should be live streamed, recorded, and have transcripts available online for public access.
