QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I do not believe there is ever a reason for an abortion. When a medical crisis arises with mother or baby where the child needs to be delivered prior to the due date, the medical community should do all it can to try to save the baby and do everything they can for the baby to survive outside the womb. In addition, the church community needs to improve their services for unplanned pregnancies and the state should make adoption easier and less expensive.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
No abortion provider should receive any tax payer funds - regardless of how they are funneled (NGO's, etc.) Additionally, I will fight to strengthen laws so that abortion outlets cannot profit from the selling of baby body parts. Once those laws are passed, we will prosecute any offenders to the fullest extent of the law. Any tax-payer dollars going to any family planning or women's health care providers should be strictly audited to ensure no money is funding abortions or abortion providers.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
It makes no sense to have state laws regulating abortion if people can participate in abortions by mail.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
We live in a free market system when there should be multiple providers to choose from for goods and services. We are not a free country if people are forced to violate their personal, moral standards in order to work and provide for themselves and their families.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The statement 'separation of church and state' was designed to keep the state out of the church, not the church out of the state. It was our second President, John Adams, who stated, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." As a Senator, I will expand the church's understanding of the importance of being engaged in government affairs and seek to infuse true Constitutional civics instruction into every public school
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C. We must focus on the issues that we face as a country. Our sovereignty as a nation is under threat, crime is skyrocketing, education rates are at the lowest levels every recorded, the cost of living is through the roof and our infrastructure is under tremendous strain due to the dramatic influx of illegal aliens who have been criminally benefitting from our social services. We should not be involved in foreign conflicts that do not directly impact America.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Every country who seeks to spread socialism, communism, Marxism or any form of tyrannical dictatorship should be considered a threat to our Constitutional Republic and to the individual liberties of people around the world. This is why it is so important to strengthen our country and return to the moral, ethical and ideological foundations our nation was founded upon to be a source of hope and an example of liberty to the world.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. The American people deserve to know when any other nation is intricately involved in our national affairs and we need the assurance that the decisions being made in Congress are always putting our needs first. As Senator, I will uphold any legislation that restricts dual citizens from holding elected office. Government exists to protect the God-given individual rights of our countrymen. Any aid given or partnerships created need to be for the promotion and protection of US citizens first.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely, it is a threat to be taken seriously and it is the duty of our federal government to not only protect our country, but her citizens. This should be done without any consideration of cultural or social sensitivities. We must safeguard ourselves against the violent trends that seem to have taken a dangerous foothold across most of Europe.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. Americans need to understand the differences between Medicaid and Medicare. Medicaid is for those who cannot afford insurance and Medicare is a benefit given to citizens who are either permanently disabled or those over 65 who have spent their lives paying into the social security system for this health plan. Medicaid should be limited to 5 years total on the program and families should have to pay a nominal monthly fee to participate, based on an income sliding scale.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Disagree
The government does not need to know what diseases our citizens are struggling with. What we need is widespread insurance reform. As a nurse, I have seen firsthand the dramatic rise in costs and drop in service in the healthcare system. The bureacracy that was created with the inception of Obamacare has made us less healthy, less wealthy and less satisfied with our providers. Healthcare is outside the Constitutional job description of the federal government and needs to be put back to the states
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
One of the core pillars of Free Enterprise is private property rights. They are foundational to a thriving economy. Private ownership drives innovation and productivity. Government should impose minimal regulations—only to prevent monopolies—and let markets freely set prices. I support abolishing property taxes entirely: it's unjust to tax people upon purchase and then annually for owning what they've already paid for.
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Disagree
I am committed to shrinking the size of our federal government. The last 11 months have shown us, as Americans, that our government, on every level, has abused the law abiding citizens of the United States in their blatant misuse of our taxpayer money. We could lower taxes across the board if we return to a limited government, as was originally planned by our founding fathers. We do not need to penalize wealthy people, we need to stop the fraud, waste and abuse in our government.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
We need to continue to investigate the fraud, waste, and abuse happening at the state and federal level and put the needs of Americans first, above all else. We need a reckoning of the trillions of dollars that have been sent to foreign countries, corporations, NGO's and non-citizens and a dramatic downsizing of the size and number of government agencies.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1)Streamline and consolidate federal agencies: merge/eliminate overlapping bureaucracies to reduce administrative redundancies and empower states to handle local needs more effectively 2) Reform entitlement programs to curb fraud and abuse by implementing stricter oversight and means-testing for programs like Medicaid and Social Security 3)End corporate welfare. No bailouts. No favored industry subsides like green energy mandates 4)Cancel Obamacare- Facilitate Healthcare reform
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Due to Biden's disastrous open borders, every part of our economy, from food, to education, healthcare and housing costs is overburdened, and as such, I am in favor of a five year immigration moratorium. We need to reexamine our quota system and make sure it is Here adhered to. Immigration policies need to be structured around Americans First and we should limit our invitations to those who align with our culture and positively impact our country.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Here in NC we are witnessing, first hand, the disastrous outcome of lawlessness and sanctuary cities. The crime rates in our cities are surging. NC is making the national news for all the wrong reasons. Murders, rapes, child abuse and sex trafficking are all on the rise and we are continually hearing about judges who turn a blind eye to illegal aliens an refuse to hold repeat offenders accountable. If we don't have law and order and consequences for crimes, we will descend into complete chaos.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
A better descriptor for what needs to happen with federal education involvement is decentralization. While, yes, the DoE should be eliminated and the states should manage their own education systems, certain programs should be (and are being) transferred to other departments. There should be a national standard for education that states are rewarded for meeting.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
Absolutely. We do not want the anti-American ideologies that come with this kind of investment indoctrinating our young people nor do we want our intellectual properties being taken back to these countries and used against us.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Anyone involved in this process should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in Almighty God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, who exists in three persons as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. He was crucified for the sins of the world, dead, buried and rose to life on the third day. I believe that Jesus now sits at the right hand of God and will come back to judge the living and the dead. I believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to the Father but through Him. I believe that God gives the Holy Spirit to those who confess their sin to God and submit their lives to His Lordship. I believe all human beings are created in God's image and that He has a plan for each of our lives.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I am in favor of a federal law that states every person must show a valid, photo ID, issued by their state, to vote. The US Constitution gives state legislatures the responsibility of managing elections. Article VI of the NC Constitution clearly states that only 18-year-old and older citizens who meet residency requirements (1 yr in NC, 30 days in precinct) and are not disqualified by felony convictions convictions, can vote. A photo ID is the only way to verify these requirements.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Women and girls deserve to be safe in their private spaces. Government must use their authority to guarantee women's privacy and that they are protected from harassment, violations and assault.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Oil, gas and coal.
