QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I believe that life begins at conception, is separate from the mother for a period of time and has separate DNA. Thus this new life, this unborn baby, has it's own rights to privacy, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Never

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The Free Market should always govern. If you employer does not pay you enough then find another job. Eventually, when the employer cannot find employees, he will have to increase employee pay or go out of business.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Every dollar spent should be identified. There should be a return on investment for money spent for infrastructure projects for either the state or state residents. 2. True Fiscal notes, prepared by a non-involved departement should be considered for every bill. Having a fiscal note prepared by the affected department is a recipe for politics. 3. There should be no funded, yet unfilled, positions in any department. This allows departments to create a slush fund of money for other uses.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that the State shall not designate a "state religion." The Letter to the Danbury Baptist Conference, that the SCOTUS decision on separation of church and state, did not envision a wall that kept religious influence out of the state. That "Wall" was supposed to prevent the state from dictating a religion to the people.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The Free Market should always govern. Requiring a business to provided a service no matter what their religious beliefs are breeches the "wall" of separationg that Jefferson envisioned. it is exactly what he meant. The state should not be dictating a businesses behavior based on their religious choice, no matter what it is.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

More choice equals more freedom. Part of our nations unhealthiness is because our Health Care System has been invaded by the Government. Medicaid especially has allowed unheathy lifestyle choices to become the norm. Having said that, our expensive healthcare industry is driven, in part, by our expensive education system for Doctors and healthcare professionals. Medicaid is the largest sector of Alaskas budget and one that the legislature has little control over. Fixing it will take decades.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Neutral

Might be one way of mitigating Health care Costs. A very small percentage of people drive a significant segment of the Medicaid and healthcare costs. Frequent Flyers. Not sure how to end that without running afoul of privacy concnerns. But it is a major cost driver.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

CCP is a very small segment of the Chinese people. I have been there and have friends in China. The CCP control of the Chinese populace is iron fisted. And their meddling in American data, borders, the Arctic, and farmland needs to be heavily scrutinzed.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Isreal has been a strong ally for decades and we should continue to foster our relationship with them.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

Let's face it. Stop changing the terms to make them more palatable. "Undocumented persons" used to be called "illegal Aliens" - and that is exactly what they are. They violated our laws to get here or stay here. Why would we allow cities, a subordinate government to the Federal or state governement, to give lawbreakers sanctuary. Would we do that for any other law? Should we have sanctuary cities for drug dealers or theives?

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Education is best controlled when it is closest to the parents. The U.S. Dept of Ed has had too much control/influence over curriculum which is taught, as well as what has been excluded, especially pertaining to our history.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

When foreign governments are allowed to fund our education, they are given sway over the content of what is taught. They have the ability to influence how they are seen. For example, Communist China propoganda can be presented as fact.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

School counselors and people outside the family should not be allowed to provide health or education counseling without input from the parents. Allowing gender therapies and keeping information from the parents about theiri children is a gross violation of parental rights.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Schools and teachers have one job. Teach our children. Meddling in a childs sexuality or getting between a child and their parents in an attempt to physically or socially transition a child should be a felony.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Marriage has always been a religious term. States have long allowed a civil union. That part should not be regulated by the government. The government has no business in our bedrooms, nor should they say who you can love or who you can co-habitate with. The government entered the marriage realm when divorce became a legal/court issue.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

It could be a revenue generator, and I believe in the free market. While it is generally a social issue, it should be determined by the local government, with input from the citizens.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born again Christian. I believe in creation. And I believe we should worship the creator and not his creation. My morals, values, and ethics have all come from my faith in God. I believe that God governs in the affairs of man and I believe that we are a Christian nation and should get back to acting like one.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We use photo ID's for everything else. Why would we not want our elections to be at least as secure as our ability to buy alcohol, go to college, join the military, or get on an airplane?

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

To what end?

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

Why would we want to dismantle title IX a mere 5 decades after putting it in place? Men and women are generally phyicically different. That does not mean one is inferior to the other. It simply means different. It is time we recognized that and celebrate the complimentary nature of our biology. Men cannot exist without women. Neither can women exist without men. This is simply a biological fact and one of the wonders of our creation.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

Man does contribute to climate change. There is no question. But man, through the use of hydro carbon fuels, can also find ways to mitigate their contribution. Compare the polluted cities of America in the 70's to the cities of today. All of that was accomplished by man trying to mitigate our recognized contribution to the pollution. But we should always recognize a return on investment when it comes to mitigating global warming. Will our investment change the trajectory or is there a better way

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Small Micro Nuclear power. If only the Nuclear Regulatory Agency would takes steps to help rather than hinder the development of these promising technologies.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

It should be reforming convicted criminals. Not sure if that is possible. So the corallary has to be to keep them away from law abiding citizens, to remove them from the society where they cannot abide by the community laws and morals.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

The parents bear the ultimate responsibility. But like laws that govern smoking age, drinking, age, or even driving age, we must recognize the difference in our young people and create an environment where they can grow and thrive without bad influences.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

This is exactly the Wall the Jefferson envisioned.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. A gun is a tool. Like any tool it requires instruction. You don't get in a car without learning to drive first. As an American, if you carry a gun, you have a responsibility to get the training to use that, when to use it, and when not to display our use it.
