QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Elective abortion, to end the life of an unwanted, pre-born baby should never be allowed.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Again the free market and our liberties and freedoms as Americans and Alaskans should be paramount, not some bureaucrat's idea of right and wrong.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

As a Christian we are told biblically that Isreal is important. Isreal is one of our strongest allies and on the front lines in the mid-east.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Health care, while important, is not a right. We should provide (or limit) the regulatory structure to that which is necessary to help health care providers provide access to affordable health care. Direct Primary Care was one of the bills I sponsored which will create better, inexpensive health care and get the insurance and medicare bloat out of the market.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

It should be an individual choice. Some vaccines are necessary but if a parent or an individual objects to having a foreign substance injected into their bodies should that objection not be honored.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Our country and our liberty were founded on the right to own property. It is one of the foundational rights and was so important to our founding fathers that voting was initially tied to property ownership.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Let the free market drive the wages. Businesses will either pay a proper wage or they will go out of business due to lack of employees.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I cosponsored HB174 to help resolve the issue of public retirement boards and the permanent fund board from investing in companys for solely ESG purposes. https://www.akleg.gov/basis/Bill/Detail/33?Root=HB74

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

BUILD THE WALL. Legal immigration should be allowed. Illegal immigration should be met with deportation.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Parents should be allowed to choose the best school for their children. Back-pack funding, Education Savings Accounts, or other strategies to get money into parents hands to fund their childrens education should be of utmost importance to a legislator. The program should be designed to ensure accountability of funding, but also to test outcomes. Education of our children, our most precious resource, is extremely important.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

No restrictions on gun ownership is necessary. Education on firearm safety is a great idea.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To provide for the political, civil, and religeous liberty of its citizens while maintaining the general safety, security and economic freedoms that allow citizens the freedom to move about the country as well as own property

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Governments can certainly entertain domestic partnerships but co-opting the word marriage is wrong.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. We are, and will always be, a melting pot of many races and cultures. Despite some who would continue to divide us along racial lines, most Americans do not consider race when interacting with another person. America is not an inherantly racist country and I reject the idea of "white privilege."

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Stricter environmental laws, to combat or attempt to mitigate climate change, buy into the idea that we can affect what is essentially a natural phenomena when studied over millions of years (inistead of less than 200). Yes the planet is warming. And humans may or may not be contributing to that. The temperature rise vs. CO2 data set, over serveral millenia, actually show that the temp rise precedes CO2 rise, not the other way around. Yes we still need to be good stewards of our environment.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Clean Coal. There are thousands of years of coal in Alaska and we have the scrubber technology to make sure it is as clean as the natural gas we currently burn. It is cheap, easy to get and GEN2 clean coal plants are a proven technology.
