"Allowed' is a tricky word. It's not my business to say if an abortion should happen as it is a choice best left to a woman and her medical provider. In the case of late term abortions, there are some issues. Typically these are only being done for legitimate risk to loss of life for the mother. In the 1.6% of times that it is a life-style or family planning decision, the majority are done because the woman seeking abortion services has had financial or logistical problems in finding a clinic or funding the service. There is much that we can do to greatly reduce unwanted pregnancies in this country. We will never come to a consensus on this or other issues of life and death, but we can come together to prevent unwanted pregnancies, support women who have medical problems that force them to induce prematurely and provide better services for mothers who only make this decision for lack of support. Let's work together so more pregnancies are met with tears of joy and not tears of despair

On the right, we have a theory to cut programs to balance the budget and reduce taxes. On the left, we try to squeeze programs into a budget that could not possibly cover it all without a great expense to the tax payer. The focus should not be "how much", as it is HOW. To rip programs out from underneath people creates more problems & increases collateral costs. And it never makes sense to only patch half a roof. Strategic investment-style programs reduce costs by reducing the problem.

I believe in an absolute separation. Thomas Jefferson first said this in a letter stating his desire to separate the wilds of the world from the gardens of heaven. Absolute separation not only insures that religious groups are not dictating how we govern, but also restricts government from dictating how we worship. Even within Christianity, there are many different beliefs, especially with regards to social culture. It is imperative we maintain the right to worship without persecution, but in the public forum, it is just as important to honor the beliefs of others by keeping government secular.

As a double transplant recipient, I have a deep personal knowledge of how the system fails us. No one should "profit" from healthcare. Our costs are 4x what they are in other Western countries and our infant mortality is the worst compared to those countries. We need a socialized system of medicine to protect our lives, our livelihood and our rights. The number one cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical bills and the number one GoFundMe request is the same. Insurance companies are robbing us and Congress has allowed this to happen. No one should lose their home and everything they have worked for because of cancer. We the People need to band together and use our government to stop it.

The restrictions in place regarding criminal and/or health concerns are valid as is, but are almost impossible to enforce. The rules for citizenship, residency and work permits are currently outdated, unreliable, difficult to navigate, expensive and plagued with problems. The cry to have people "just enter legally" is probably made by people who are unaware of how convoluted the system is. If we want to establish a better system that has real solutions for filling our agricultural and manufacturing needs, protecting those who need amnesty and continuing to support a diverse society honoring the way most of our ancestors came here, we need to make the system easier to navigate. We have pushed people into a black market undocumented means of immigration by not providing a clear, concise, viable set of rules. This criminalizes too many and makes it more difficult to protect ourselves from those that are not qualified to immigrate properly.

As a Liberal Libertarian, I place my focus on individual rights that are inclusive of everyone. Where Liberal Libertarians differ greatly is our economic policy. We do not have a set ideology in this area. My primary focus is efficiency and effectiveness. Strategic investment in policy that fixes problems to reduce costs sometimes takes focused infusion of funding and reduction in other areas to tweak results and better help our community. It's about QUALITY of government, not just focusing on quality. I am very comfortable with the recent gun legislation in WA state with the exception of the age restriction. I think it is unethical to ask Americans 18-21 to serve in the armed forces & then put restrictions on their ability to own guns privately. Age should not limit your liberty. I believe this should be a line item adjustment to the law and not a reason to throw it out. Although I was not a fan of Anton Scalia, I felt his majority opinion in DC v Heller is excellent precedent on this issue.

TAXES: B&O tax legislation that creates tax brackets for businesses to help small businesses survive the increase in minimum wage as well as a 1st year waiver of B&O tax for new small businesses under $10M with an option to apply for an additional 6 months of relief. This helps give an edge to new small business and helps them start strong, keep the jobs they have created in the market & be a better source of revenue as they grow. I also want to work with legislators on relative income tax inequality in our state. Eliminate the bottle tax on liquor for resale. 2. KIDS: Better fund our foster care system to make sure counseling services are going to struggling families to keep kids out of the system which will greatly reduce foster care costs by helping keep kids home & reducing the collateral damage to kids who, without solid parents, end up in the other parts of our system as adults. 3. CRIME: I have bills for- No untested rape kits. Cannabis robberies. Property crime.

It certainly can be. Systemic racism threatens us all because it creates a system of favor. When personal bias or thoughts of superiority grow from opinion to violent action, this becomes a REAL problem that does threaten us in a real way. In addition, we have recently seen violence in our streets which has not only been the rioting of people looking for change in reference to the black lives matter ideology, but also opportunists as well as groups that are supremacist in nature and seek to disrupt any fight for equality. Any American should be afforded the same rights under the constitution and this is not happening. We know that people of color are 3-4 times as likely to be shot by police and this is an issue that has and is affecting us all. We need to step up to end any inequality and bring peace and fairness to our nation.
