QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Disagree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Prior to viability.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Abortion services represent only 4% of the services provided by Planned Parenthood. PP provides vital healthcare services including prenatal and postnatal care. Medically necessary abortions, those performed to protect the safety of the woman or victims of rape or incest should be covered by insurance and qualify for government assistance. Elective abortions are an elective outpatient surgery and should be self funded or private entities could provide grants. Just like any other medical service.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

Ridiculous. It's not 1873 and it should be overturned.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

We will never have that till we get corporate money out of politics and stop excessive corporate welfare. However, "free enterprise" does not mean free-for-all. We need laws that define business practices and their legal parameters as well as robust consumer protections which have been lacking sine 1982.

People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.

Neutral

They should not necessarily pay MORE taxes, but they should be paying their fair share. My tiny business paid more tax than GE and dozens of large corporations because it's' not the tax rate that matters it's the effective tax rate that matters. This relates to the free enterprise question because Corporate Congress has excessively reduced the tax rates and left most of the deductions, plus added some. No one's Leer jet should be tax deductible.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Neutral

Not like DODGE did. Just cutting is a poor plan. Certainly we need some reduction in spending in certain areas, but it is redundancy & a lack of efficiency standards that make many programs cost so much. We are funding band-aids over bullet holes because policy is often written on top of policy instead of aggressively restructuring programs for better results. I don't want invoices; I want structured investment in programs that grow jobs and opportunities & address realistic community needs.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. Improper payments, overpayments & fraud in Federal Healthcare and social safety net programs. This represents hundreds of billions of dollars and a lot of it is due to inaccurate record keeping. 2. Department of Defense Inefficiencies cost $125 Billion/yr. The pentagon fails to track assets. Redundancy, overhead and legacy programs that do not strengthen our military at all. Procurement delays and cost overruns. 3 Interest on our national debt is over a Trillion dollars a year...

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

We have a separation of church and state for a reason. Your business license is granted to you by the state and requires that you follow EOE practices; that should follow into your sales pipeline per the law. There are some exceptions when you are hired to write or create something that covers you first Amendment rights, but if you are selling sandwiches or cleaning gutters you need to follow the law. Churches are also an exception.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Organized religious doctrine is not allowed in government installations or to be the foundation of government policy. The founders were very clear on this and many of them were very pious men. It is BECAUSE they valued their faith that it was included in the 1st amendment. Once you have religion in government- you are asking for government in religion. King James changed the religion of Britain with the stroke of pen. This separation allows us to worship as we wish or not at all.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

A has the best outcomes both medically and financially, but I think most people prefer B. Americans don't need health insurance; they need healthCARE. Congress has set up the fix and both Dems and the GOP are guilty of selling us out. It's a "free" country; there will always be private healthcare, but health insurance is nothing more than a middle man driving up costs and denying valid claims for profit. It's "Your Money or Life". Singapore has the best system in the world. We should copy them.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

There is not one answer to this. It depends on the situation and it depends on what kind of help. Soft power is much more effective in getting what we want. Boots on the ground should be reserved for human right atrocities and even then with discretion. Our history is not good vis a vis being "helpers". My main directive ion this is use every means necessary to bring peace and freedom before elevating to direct involvement. That includes supplying weapons.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

We have allowed this to happen by defunding the American people and giving all of our wealth to billionaires without charging them a proper tax rate. Our interest bill, lack of development including infrastructure is because we are squeezing the economy dry and arguing over left v right nonsense. The art of distraction is robbing us blind. Chinese President Xi called the US a fading giant and he is not wrong. We need to stop shouting "We're #1" and start getting busy doing it.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

It was very important, and could. be again, but the current administration is made up of genocidal maniacs and making the conflict in Iran worse.

Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. HOWEVER, It would help if we stopping bombing them for no good reason. It is only creating the next generation of terrorists. We had a deal which proved our economic sanctions worked because we cut their commerce off from the world the point they were forced to come to the table. Now we have NO deal and have disrupted the supply chain. It would also help if we reverse the deal to sell US oil on the global market and stop buying anyone else's and move to cleaner energy..

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

This is a changing standard depending on the conditions of countries around the globe. Protected status is a temporary visa and then there are basic immigration quotas for workers. We do other have enough types of visas to cover US needs and those people come anyway. And we DO need them. We need a more robust system that has exacting standards and adopts a program like Canada that gives Working visa with the potential for citizenship in markets that need labor like healthcare or engineers.

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Agree

There should not be sanctuary cities. We should be a sanctuary nation in that local/state police are not compelled to cooperate unless there is a warrant for violent and other select offenses. Policing does not happen without information. If immigrants fear police they won't cooperate in investigations and those that are victims will not go to police which keeps dangerous people on the streets. A more robust system with better rules would cure this problem, but corporations like slave labor.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Disagree

The DoE needs improvements, but this is not practical, efficient or affordable. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Disagree

This is a trust, but verify situation. The money funds R&D, expansion projects and scholarships. We already have a duty to report and it is heavily scrutinized. More transparency is not a bad thing, but there is tremendous upside here.

VALUES

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Disagree

If the child is trans, then no. If the child is CIS, then yes. There are certain restrictions due to age with regards to treatment, but doctors who treat trans kids are very conservative with care.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

That is the Christian definition of marriage, not the legal one. Marriage is a legal contract between two consenting unmarried people, hopefully adults. The government can not alter that definition inside of your church, but the rule of law supersedes the bible according to the Constitution regarding two people purchasing a contact of marriage.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have them, but when I take the oath of office, I swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. It is part of my job to leave my personal beliefs aside and follow the rule of law.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

Enforcing this violates the 24th Amendment because it is a de facto poll tax. It shouldn't cost anything to vote. If the government wants to spend BILLIONS of dollars providing passports to every citizen, I STILL wouldn't vote for it because our elections have been proven time and time again to be secure and properly validated with out any margin of error that would affect results. This is government waste based on the lie Trump has been telling for years. He lost.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Neutral

Trans people are not biological male according to several standards. This is proven medical science that people choose not to believe while enforcing the idea that trans people choose this. They absolutely do not. Woman's sports is a valid issue because without treatment, trans men can be bigger or stronger. The 14th amendment means trans woman play, but standards of fairness regarding league or age group with respect to size and strength should be considered on a sport by sport basis.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

The sun, the ocean and wind.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

It depends on the issue. When it comes to the economy, I lean MATH.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

We need government sponsored training for parents and teachers to identify signs of this and many other safety issues.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Washington State law strikes a good balance between rights and responsibilities and I would like to see similar laws expanded on a nationwide basis.. Statistically, we rank 11th on least gun deaths per state. Suicide accounts for 60% of all firearm deaths in the US, so we need more mental heath intervention. Americans are 26x as likely to be shot than in other wealthy nations and that's a PROBLEM. Acknowledging that is the first step.
