QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Only in those extremely rare circumstances in which it is necessary to save the mother's life; weighing life for life.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Agree
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Strongly oppose any artificial minimum wage. The economic effect of a minimum wage most harms the lowest wage earners -- precisely the ones it supposedly is intended to help.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Government waste fundamentally is a problem of government spending. To reduce government waste it is necessary to eliminate whole categories of government spending. When government spends any amount on any object, the result inescapably is waste. As government fundamentally spends other people's money, the natural discipline of avoiding waste simply does not exist. To reduce government waste, begin with the largest line item of government spending, reduce that sharply, then keep going.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
"Separation of church and state" is meant to refer to the First Amendment, however that phrase does not exist anywhere in the Constitution. That phrase comes from an 1802 letter of Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association. The First Amendment, meanwhile, states only that Congress shall make no law establishing nor prohibiting the practice of religion. In other words, Congress is prohibited from making laws in precisely two areas with respect to religion, but religion is not limited.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
D. Of course. Nationally the government simply has no power enumerated in Article 1, Section 8 to do anything with respect to health. Morally, government at all levels must have nothing whatever to do with something as important and as individual as a person's health. The more important a thing is, the more imperative to keep government entirely out of it.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. It is in our national interest to maintain allies in various regions. Israel is our most stable ally in the Middle East and most closely aligned with our interests.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
There is no power enumerated in Article 1, Section 8 for the federal government to have anything at all to do with education in the several states.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Obviously.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Disagree
Disagree, however the question is inadequately defined. In Oklahoma the Indian tribes have a state-protected monopoly on gambling. While I dislike gambling in general, even more do I dislike government as a moral busybody, defining what citizens may and may not do on their own. Even more than that I dispise government picking favored and disfavored businesses. The correct answer is for government to have nothing at all to say on most activities of its citizens. Mere silence is best.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Agree, of course. Government, however, properly has no role at all in sports. Sporting organizations are and should be free to define the parameters of their own sports. Whether or not the sport can attract participants and fans is a private matter that simply is not in the purview of government.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Coal, oil, and natural gas are the most readily available. Nuclear is the most fuel-efficient. There is no need, however, for government involvement in the production of electricity. The inherent efficiency of the free market will suffice.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
To prosecute harms against one's fellow man. In a representative republic there ought be no such thing as a crime against the state.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Disagree
That is the role of parents, not government.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
Sharia law is antithetical to the United States Constitution and expressly violates the First Amendment.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Zero. Period. The Second Amendment expressly forbids infringing the right to keep and bear arms.
