RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Because abortion requires ending a human life, the same moral considerations apply as in other life-versus-life quandaries: defense of self, defense of others, and so on. In any situation all attempts must be made to preserve the lives of both the mother and her baby. As the very phrase "elective abortion" does not suggest concern for the moral imperative to preserve the baby's life, the moral answer to the question of "elective abortion" must be: none.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Disagree

Because abortion necessarily ends a human life, the same moral consideration applies whether that life is taken chemically or surgically. A drug intended to end life is not safe and should not be available.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Aside from the moral objection to using tax money to fund that which the tax payer may find abhorrent, there simply exists no Constitutional power under Article I, Section 8 for the federal government to "fund" abortion. The moral objection, meanwhile, continues to state and local governments.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Preserving private property rights is one of the few legitimate and essential purposes for which government exists at any level. Free enterprise, likewise, involves the disposition of one's own private property and of the works of one's own hands. Government has no place in directing the disposition of private property nor the works of men's hands. If government directs the works of men's hands, then men are slaves, not freemen.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage fundamentally harms those whom it pretends to protect: those at the low end of the wage scale. The practical effect of an arbitrary minimum wage is to price labor above its value (else no intervention would be made.) No minimum wage!

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

Environmental and social issues, to the extent they are valid at all, necessarily are private opinions and preferences, and not any legitimate function of government. "Investing" public monies, meanwhile, also is not a legitimate function of government. As all government monies are first taken from its citizens, it is unjust for government to "invest" that which is stolen.


RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Zero. None. No circumstances. See Amendment #1. Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion. As Congress may make no law, then the Executive may execute no law, and agencies of the Executive may not regulate. Where the subject is the free exercise of religion, government must remain entirely silent.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

No individual and no business may be required by government to provide anything. Such properly is a private transaction between free persons and simply is not a proper function of government.


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

D). This properly is a Constitutional question, not a medical question. No power exists in Article I, Section 8 for the federal government to provide or guarantee medical services or insurance.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. Zero. No circumstances. The most fundamental freedom of a free man is power over his own person. A man who has not peremptory power over his own person is not a freeman, but is owned by another; a slave.


NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

As do all communist nations.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Uniquely important. Israel is our only reliable ally in the region.


IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Without borders a nation-state ceases to exist. The primary function of the military is to secure our own borders. The very first duty of Congress in Article I, Section 8 (and the first stated purpose for laying and collecting taxes) is to provide for the common defense of the United States. If Congress abandons its very first duty, then it abandons any justification for its own existence.


EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

Agree, but with qualification. The state has no business "allowing" dollars in education or any other private pursuits of free persons. The problem with education is the "public" in public education, particularly public money. Government involvement in any market necessarily reduces the agility and efficiency of that market, disrupting and hampering rational decisions. The education of our own children is far too important to be left to government!


VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

The fundamental question, as phrased by the late, lamented Walter E. Williams is: who owns your children? The state must never be permitted ownership of your children, else neither you nor your children are free!

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Aside from the obvious moral objection to forcing taxpayers to pay for that which they may find abhorrent, there simply exists no power in Article I, Section 8 for the federal government to have any involvement in medical care. The moral objection, meanwhile, extends likewise to state and local governments.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Marriage is a word. A word has meaning, else it is pointless. Any other arrangement between people, that does not mean the sacred and legal union between one man and one woman, simply is something else, something independent of marriage. It does alter the nature of marriage.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, a believer in Christ. In the context of the United States I most cherish the unique emphasis in the United States on liberty. As liberty cannot exist outside of Christ, the unique understanding in the United States between the people as sovereign and the government as subservient, preserves an earthly form of the liberty we have in Christ.


ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Even a single fraudulent vote defrauds one legitimate voter of his vote.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

The electoral college is a brilliant idea that is hugely important to the preservation of our republic. It serves to give a significant vote to all the states, not just the most populous. It further renders fraud more difficult, as it is difficult to anticipate where the fraud should be applied. Without the electoral college the president would be elected by a few large cities and no one else.


EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, not personal racism. Government and institutional racism, on the other hand, is an existential threat to the republic. Racism is no less racist for being applied in reverse.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

CRT has it exactly backward. Favoring one race over another, no matter what the claimed reason, is still racist! The only correct answer where government is concerned is not to consider race at all.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Either have women's institutions or do not have them; but to pretend that men can be women (and vice versa) is absurd.


ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A and C. The climate on earth is always changing and always has done. It will continue to change no matter what man tries to do to stop it. Environmental laws, meanwhile, are merely communism by other means. "The environment" is merely an excuse for the actual goal of more government power exercised on a global scale.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Coal, natural gas, nuclear. "Renewable" energy is a fantasy that is incapable of supplying sufficient energy. Reliance on "renewable" energy will necessarily result in shortages and increased prices and reduced availability of energy.

As declared by our founders to England: "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

In particular I insist on strict adherence to Constitutional limits on government. Limited government is the essential ingredient to liberty, and liberty is the highest public good.


CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Further, I support decreasing taxes and decreasing spending rather than any "redirection" of spending the funds taken by force from taxpayers.


2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Zero. None. No restrictions. See Amendment #2. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. In contrast to the First Amendment, the Second is focused squarely on "the people," not merely on Congress. The people's right may not be infringed. At all. Further, gun ownership itself is essential to protect public safety!

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Of course! Same as any other citizen. Being a teacher does not abrogate one's inherent right to self defense.
