QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is legal whether I support it or not. In most every instance I do not support abortion. My mom chose life for me against her father's wishes. On the other hand,I struggled with abortion regarding childhood pregnancy as a child rape survivor. I'm not a doctor and do not know the risks. My experience is in the form of being lucky to have children due to damage due to child rape. My kids are a living miracles. As I've grown older I recognize that committing violence against a baby doesn't erase rape. With that in mind, I support adoption and fixing that system. In a situation in which a choice has to be made to save a mother or child, that is horrific. That choice should rest with the family and a doctor. Abstinence and birth control prevent unwanted pregnancies which prevent abortion. These are tough choices in life involving free will. I support helping the moms and fathers with other options besides abortion and the rest is out of my control.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We must do a better job of auditing duplicative programs and set sunset clauses. If a program isn't producing results it should be evaluated. We also should be putting our state's needs above wants regarding a balanced budget.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means state stay out of our church, not church stay out of our state business.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Working for affordable and sustainable health care is a major issue. It's even more so if, like me, you've had to do without. On more than one occasion I suffered significantly because my parent's didn't have insurance. When I became old enough to work insurance played a role in the jobs I chose to work. I think having insurance is a need that most people should work to provide for themselves and family as needed. There is no one answer to reducing costs, however, having healthy competition keeps costs down. Auditing programs helps guard against fraud. A posted price list also is best for the patient to promote choices. When I had a young family my husband's company was self insured so we always received the bill first, checked it for mistakes, then forwarded it to the company for payment. The itemized list helped us keep track of the charges which can be costly sometimes if an error occurred that was missed. Billing should be more transparent to consumers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I support legal immigration. I also support working to fix the problems the individuals that are doing it the right way are facing. We can and should resolve that for better results.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

When I was a child my parent's didn't believe in God so I had no name for God. During the worst of times I didn't feel alone though I didn't know God. I know now that he was with me. As an adult it was hard not to be angry with God for the pain and loss in my life. Once I knew God I didn't hate him because I don't hate anyone. Not even the murderer that killed my sister. It took a lot of hard work to face the anger and work through it, but I chose to do that for me. While I was on that journey God worked through me to help me heal and become the strong leader I am today. Everything I do is God working through me. I have peace in my life now because of the call to action God prepared for for. I have much joy in my life now.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My public voting records would be the best source available through WA State House of Representatives (Republican). There are a couple votes that are a bit tricky for example: Marijuana, I've seen this destroy the lives of people that I love. I also see it being abused by some which cause harm or death to others. I don't support that. Nor do I support children using it in most instances. Now enter the CBD version that is used for medicine. In that instance the CBD may have less side effects than pharmaceuticals or be a better medicinal choice depending on the circumstances. There are also proven situations in which THC may help individuals with health issues I'm not qualified to decide. The people of WA State voted to legalize Marijuana so it's not my choice. However, this is new territory and may require adjustments just like anything else where concerns are warranted. Another example is my stand opposing Comprehensive Sex-Ed pushed into law by the Democrat majority party.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

The experience that qualifies me most is life experience 101. I grew up going to WA State public schools. I volunteered in the public schools my children attended. I was lucky enough to work different jobs in the service industry as a young person. I attended trade school and became licensed by the state as a Cosmetologist/Esthetician. I'm an Army Reserves veteran and proud mother of an Air Force airman. I served my country in the military in the Transportation field. My parent's owned a trucking company that allowed me to understand the trucking industry well. As my husband and I raised our family we owned a couple of small private businesses. These were in the beauty, RV rental, and rental housing markets. All of this life experience comes in handy when voting on legislation as a current State Representative.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

I have never been convicted of a felony or penalized for sexual misconduct.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I work hard to listen to both sides of an issue trying to find solutions. I've even gone places that make me uncomfortable as a Republican to attend. I do that in my attempt to find balance in the interest of working for the people I serve. I appreciate being included and that you've put your trust in me to be fair and make good decisions that benefit the District.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No Answer

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support the Second Amendment. Anyone watching current events involving riots and innocent people being harmed may support these rights even more now. Gun rights should not be suspended without due process. It gets a bit tricky in violent situations or issues involving mental health. It could be a matter of life or death, so I support fast tracking due process.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. A Bill that addresses the loophole in the Declaration of Emergency powers that allows any Governor to abuse the power of the Emergency Declaration. The declaration was meant to help in short term instances involving a flood, fire, earthquake, etc. to facilitate help quickly. We need a time limit added that makes the Governor coordinate with the legislature to be extended. 2. We need balance in our justice system that includes victims of crimes and their rights. I'm working on a set of Bills in the "Failure to Protect Washington Citizens and Families Act". 3. Taxes are too high and increasing under the current majority party. As a current State Rep I've been disgusted by the party line votes raising taxes passed in the middle of the night with no community input. Title Only Bills are being abused. I will work to stop the abuse regarding unsustainable taxation.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a problem and it is not specific to skin color. It is something that is wrong and we should be working together to have honest conversations in the goal to stop it in every form.
