I voted in these primaries and general elections:

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The life of an innocent, unborn soul should never be taken. Until we can overturn Roe v. Wade, we must do everything possible to reduce the frequency of abortion. Last Legislative Session, I filed HJR 121 to protect life at conception and would have prohibited abortion to the fullest extent possible under the law with exceptions for rape, incest, or when the life of the mother or child was in danger.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mankind is sinful including greed and pride. We are imperfect beings and that is why the separation of powers is so perfect. Whether that is at the federal or state level, a distinct separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches is what keeps our checks and balances in place. No one person or body can enact laws because no one person should. The 10th Amendment made it clear that States have jurisdiction over any matters not delegated by the U.S. Constitution.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My value and belief system is based on my relationship with God and serving Him. Growing up Catholic, my relationship with Christ has grown over the years through my many different experiences. My belief system is to serve our Lord and my calling is to serve our community. When things get tough, as politics tend to do, I can always rely on this relationship and leaning on my family for guidance.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have earned very high marks from conservative groups and finish consistently in the top 15 most conservative members such as the Young Conservatives of Texas, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Texas Values, Concerned Women for America, Texas Conservative Coalition, Texas Right to Life, and the Texas Eagle Forum. In a scientific study conducted every Session by a professor from Rice University, I average in the Top 10 most conservatives members in the House.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

As a small business owner, I can attest that the way to bring down unemployment is to continue to fight for and protect low taxes and regulations for employers. When you burden companies with high taxes and ridiculous regulations, they cannot accurately predict their resources to hire more workers and cannot grow as quickly. You can already see tangible results from the federal tax reform just recently passed as many companies have announced their intentions to hire more workers and even provide bonuses to their current employees.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The free market is a beautiful thing if you allow it to flourish. Let’s make insurance and healthcare providers compete against each other to allow consumers, instead of the government, to choose the best option that fits their families.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

There shouldn’t be a role for government to play in boosting the economy! Let’s get out of the way so that businesses and citizens can decide for themselves how best to spend their hard-earned money. It’s been shown time and time again that government interference doesn’t work in the long run!

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I'm a 3-term member of the Texas House of Representatives and have built a record that is among the most conservative in the Legislature. I received eight years of the best leadership training in the world in the United States military (4 years in the Reserve Officer Training Corps and 4 more as a U.S. Air Force Officer). I'm the son of public school teachers and as such, when I started my entrepreneurial career I began it with family money...I had $80 dollars! I started a business from scratch and now we have nearly 100 employees spread out over five states at a dozen locations. I also served on a city council and was, for one year, the Mayor Pro Tem of the fastest growing city in America. I am also very proud of my thirty plus years as a conservative activist and that culminated last summer in 2016 as I was selected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. I was the only delegate selected from the entire Texas legislature.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Here's what you’re going to get from me. Fierce conservative advocacy. I'm passionately eager to represent you. The folks that pay all the bills/taxes, follow the rules and love their God, family and country. President Trump shook up the establishment by winning the presidency by promising to put America first and people like you and I first. He's set on draining the swamp. And so am I! We must do it one creature at a time. I will work tirelessly to actually secure the border, protect our historical monuments, provide property tax relief, get healthcare costs under control, drug test welfare recipients, end in-state tuition for illegals as well as welfare benefits to anyone here in our country illegally, institute term limits, bar legislators from becoming lobbyists and vehemently support our Texas rural public schools and teachers. I'm a fighter and I will never cease fighting for you. I am asking for your support, your vote, and your prayers. Please spread the word! God Bless!
