QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
We must take every measure possible to protect and defend innocent human life. Taxpayer dollars should never be used to support organizations that perform or promote abortion, including Planned Parenthood. We should ensure that public funds are directed toward healthcare providers that respect the sanctity of life and provide care without participating in the destruction of unborn children. Taxpayer dollars should never be used to subsidize the abortion industry.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
NEVER! All human lives are created in the image of God and are inherently valuable.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I believe that every human life is inherently valuable and deserving of legal protection, regardless of age, stage of development, disability, or circumstance. Human life begins at conception, and government has a fundamental responsibility to protect the most vulnerable among us, including the unborn. I believe our laws should recognize and reflect the inherent value and dignity of every human life from conception until natural death.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
Scientific advancement should never come at the expense of protecting innocent human life, and we should ensure that advances in fertility treatment and reproductive technology are pursued with appropriate respect for the dignity of human embryos. I believe that human life is valuable regardless of how that life was created. Human embryos are human lives at their earliest stage of development and deserve the same respect and protection as any other human life.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
Abortion-inducing drugs should not be treated as a loophole around laws protecting unborn life. These drugs can also put women at risk because they are often taken at home without a doctor physically present to respond if a serious medical emergency occurs. Enforcing the law would also provide greater accountability for organizations that distribute abortion-inducing drugs and make clear that federal laws protecting unborn life must be taken seriously and faithfully enforced.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Wages should be determined by the free market, where businesses/employees can negotiate based on skills and demand. We should focus on policies that encourage job creation and greater opportunities for higher wages, rather than government mandates.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Free enterprise gives individuals the freedom to start businesses, create jobs, invest, and pursue new ideas without unnecessary government interference. Private property gives individuals the ability to own and build upon what they have worked for and provides an incentive to invest, save, and grow. Government should protect these rights and maintain a fair marketplace, not unnecessarily dictate how individuals and businesses operate.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
End taxpayer-funded lobbying by prohibiting government entities from using taxpayer dollars to lobby the Legislature or Congress for additional funding, special interests, or favorable policies. Eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse through regular audits of government agencies and programs, and cut funding for programs that fail to deliver measurable results. Eliminate duplicative and unnecessary government programs that overlap with existing services or no longer serve a legitimate public purpose.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Constitution does not contain the phrase separation of church and state. America was founded on principles deeply rooted in the Christian faith, and Christianity has played a foundational role in shaping our nation. The Founding Fathers intended to prevent the government from controlling religion, not to remove faith from public life or government. We should respect religious liberty while also recognizing the Christian values and traditions that helped shape the United States.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Protecting individual liberty means allowing people to operate their businesses according to their convictions rather than forcing them to participate in activities that violate their conscience. Individuals should not be forced by the government to violate their sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. The free market gives individuals the ability to make these choices for themselves, and government should not interfere with those decisions simply because it disagrees with them.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. However, I would also include CHIP because caring for our most vulnerable, especially children and the elderly, is important. We must make healthcare more affordable for Texas families by increasing price transparency and giving patients more control over their care. In the Texas Legislature, I will continue fighting for conservative reforms that put affordability, patients, and families first while keeping these programs sustainable.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose creating a government database that tracks Americans’ medical conditions to calculate the economic burden of their treatment. Government has a responsibility to protect public health, but that does not mean giving bureaucrats access to sensitive personal medical information simply to measure costs. We should protect individual privacy, limit government overreach, and ensure that Americans are never treated as a financial burden because of their health.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
During my time in the Texas Legislature, we have taken important steps to prevent hostile foreign entities from purchasing Texas land, accessing sensitive intellectual property, or gaining a foothold that could threaten our national security. Protecting Texas land, our intellectual property, and our military installations from hostile foreign entities like the Chinese Communist Party is essential to safeguarding the security of Texans and Americans.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
I believe the United States’ relationship with Israel is important to our national security and to maintaining a strong alliance in a dangerous region of the world. Israel is a trusted ally that shares our commitment to democracy, security, and combating terrorism.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose sanctuary city policies. Texas must uphold the rule of law and prioritize the safety of our communities. In the Texas Legislature, we have taken strong steps to secure our border, strengthen cooperation with law enforcement, and prevent local governments from undermining federal immigration enforcement. Texas has made clear that we will not turn a blind eye to illegal immigration or allow policies that make it harder for law enforcement to keep dangerous criminals off our streets.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
States and local communities have a better understanding of their individual needs than the federal government ever could. The 10th Amendment was designed to protect the authority of the states and the people from an overreaching federal government. Federal mandates often fail to understand or represent the unique needs of our students, families, and communities. I support empowering parents, giving families the freedom to choose the educational path that works best for their child.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
American education should be funded and directed by Americans, not foreign governments. Our schools should serve American students, uphold American values, and remain free from foreign influence. Protecting the independence of our education system is essential to protecting our national sovereignty and ensuring parents and local communities remain in control.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Strongly Agree
Parents have a God-given right and responsibility to direct their child’s health and education, including protecting them from irreversible decisions they may not be mature enough to understand. Government should uphold parental rights while ensuring children are protected from medical or social interventions that attempt to transition them away from their biological sex. Parents, not government officials or activists, should have the authority to guide their children with the child’s long-term
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Children deserve protection, not irreversible decisions about their sex before they are old enough to fully understand the consequences. I believe parents and medical professionals should prioritize a child’s long-term health and well-being, while rejecting social or medical interventions that attempt to change a child’s biological sex. Children need guidance, stability, and the freedom to grow up without being pressured into an “identity”.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Marriage is a God-ordained institution between one man and one woman, established long before government existed. Government should recognize and protect marriage, not redefine an institution that has foundational importance to families, children, and society. I will continue to stand firmly for traditional marriage and the biblical definition of the family.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Strongly Disagree
Gambling preys on the vulnerable, can lead to addiction and financial hardship, and does not strengthen Texas families or communities. Texas should focus on policies that promote strong families, personal responsibility, economic opportunity, and long-term prosperity, not expand an industry that profits from people’s losses.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, and my faith in Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible guide my values, decisions, and service. I believe in the sanctity of human life, traditional marriage, strong families, personal responsibility, and the freedom to live out our faith. I believe government should respect the rights and freedoms given to us by God and the Constitution, while protecting those who cannot protect themselves. I strive to serve with integrity, humility, courage, and conviction, always seeking to honor God and preserve the values that have made our communities and our nation strong. I believe America is strongest when we put God, family, faith, and freedom first.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Voter identification is a safeguard that helps protect the integrity of our elections and gives voters confidence that every lawful ballot is being cast by an eligible voter. While serving in the State Legislature, I have fought to strengthen our election laws and hold bad actors accountable. Texas has taken meaningful steps to secure our elections, and I will continue working to prevent voter fraud and ensure Texans can have confidence in the results of their elections.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
I do not believe the government should be in the business of giving taxpayer-funded handouts to any group of Americans. Government should reward hard work and individual responsibility, not create special financial benefits for certain groups. Rather than creating another government program funded by taxpayers, we should focus on policies that expand opportunity, encourage self-reliance, and allow every American to succeed based on their own efforts.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
As a Texas Legislator, I have filed legislation to protect women’s sports and preserve sex-specific privacy in these spaces, and I am proud to have led the fight to make these protections a reality in Texas. I believe biological sex matters when it comes to fairness, privacy, and safety. Women and girls deserve the opportunity to compete on a level playing field and to have safe, private spaces in bathrooms, locker rooms, and correctional facilities.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
I am a strong supporter of clean air, water, and food policies. However, I strongly oppose needless and wasteful restrictions on Texas energy production that increase costs for families. Woke, leftist political policies such as the Green New Deal would needlessly hurt our oil and gas industry, threaten good-paying American jobs, and increase energy costs. We should prioritize Texas energy production and technological innovation rather than letting the government dictate how our economy operates.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
I believe natural gas, oil, and coal are essential to meeting Texas’ growing energy needs because they provide reliable, affordable, and dependable power. We should utilize our abundant domestic energy resources, expand production, strengthen the ele
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I believe in limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, strong families, free markets, secure borders, a strong national defense, keeping dangerous criminals in jail, parental rights, and protecting religious freedom. I believe government should focus on its constitutional responsibilities while empowering individuals, families, churches, and communities rather than expanding government into every area of life.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The criminal justice system should put the safety of law-abiding citizens and the rights of victims first. Law enforcement should have the resources and support necessary to do their jobs, while prosecutors and judges should ensure that those who choose to break the law face real consequences. The system should also protect due process under the law, while rejecting policies that put criminals ahead of victims or make our communities less safe.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation online and ensure that laws are enforced against those who prey on minors. Parents should remain the primary authority over their children, but government should provide strong legal protections, hold offenders accountable, and work to ensure online platforms take reasonable steps to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
American law must be grounded in the U.S. Constitution. Every American has the right to practice their faith freely, but no religious or cultural legal system that conflicts with the US Constitution or our legal system should be recognized in a court of law. Upholding the Constitution means preserving both freedom of religion and the rule of law. No foreign ideology, religious doctrine, or system of law should ever take precedence over the Constitution and the laws of the United States.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I do not support additional restrictions on law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights. The right to keep and bear arms is explicitly protected by the U.S. Constitution and is an essential safeguard of individual liberty. Law-abiding Americans should not have their constitutional rights restricted because of the actions of criminals.
