I am in favor of significant tax reform, but it has been difficult to do with the political makeup of the Virginia legislature. We need to reduce taxes and regulations so that businesses can grow. Some areas to reduce spending are high-end salaries for state officials, especially at our colleges and universities. We also should eliminate, as I have tried, funding for abortions, birth control, etc.. Forcing religious individuals and organizations to violate their consciences in order to provide much-needed services like mental health treatment, counseling, foster and adoption services, and more is unconstitutional and just bad policy.
