QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Disagree

Many abortions are necessary to save the life of the woman.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

Abortion is an unusual issue in that one side has been almost completely moral and ethical for the last 53 years - Planned Parenthood - while the other side, the "Right-To-Life" political movement, has been 100% immoral and unethical for the last 53 years. The R-T-L political movement merged with the Republican Party and has always had the goal of making all abortions illegal at the federal level and in every state, with no exceptions. Many abortions are necessary to save the life of the woman.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

The Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of 1973 solved the abortion crisis by putting the health of the woman first. Every state and the federal government should codify the Roe v. Wade decision as soon as possible.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Disagree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

However, socialism at the federal level is also an essential element of a productive economic system. China today, which calls its system "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics," has the best of both worlds. Financialized, monopoly capitalism as it exists in the United States today has managed to combine the very worst aspects of capitalism, imperialism, fascism and communism. We urgently need socialism with American characteristics in this country and in all 50 states.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The minimum wage nationwide needs to be set at $15 an hour. State, local and regional governments may set higher minimum wage rates based on prevailing wages.

I support using taxpayer funds to lobby the state legislature.

Strongly Disagree

That sounds like corruption to me.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

1. We need a State Bank of Kentucky like North Dakota has had for a hundred years. 2. We need more credit unions and fewer huge banks. 3. We need stronger labor unions to counteract the depredations of huge, politically powerful corporations. 4. Kentucky's "Right-To-Work" law must be repealed. 5. Kentucky's campaign finance laws must be completely rewritten to get Big Money out of Kentucky politics.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means what the First Amendment says it means: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It also means that the government should not provide any subsidies to any church, religious organization or pastor. Exemptions from taxes are subsidies to certain religions, so all tax exemptions for religious organizations and pastors should be eliminated.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Government employees and government agencies should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs, but individuals and businesses should not.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Free, universal healthcare funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private insurance options for elective procedures such as cosmetic surgery. Almost every other prosperous country in the world has done this because they have found that it's economically efficient and politically popular.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

I don't trust the government to keep any information about our health. It's un-American and it leads directly to totalitarianism.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Disagree

The Communist Party of China (CPC) poses no threat whatsoever to the American people or the people of Kentucky. The CPC is, however, a strong enemy of US and NATO imperialism and terrorism, a very strong defender of non-aggression between all countries, and a very strong defender of the UN Charter, which Washington violates every day. The prohibition against aggression is the foundation of the UN Charter, which the US ratified in 1945.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel has been violently oppressing the Palestinian people since the founding of Israel in 1948. The goal of Zionism has always been to kick all Palestinians out of Historic Palestine and to exterminate them if they refuse to leave. In 1967, Washington became the main backer of the aggressive, war-crimes-committing, Zionist government of Israel. Netanyahu and the Israeli Lobby in this country were the main forces pushing Trump into a war of aggression against Iran. The US is certain to lose.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Agree

ICE needs to be defunded and totally abolished. The path to citizenship needs to be streamlined and speeded up. "Dreamers" should be made legal citizens immediately.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Neutral

What is taught in public schools - the curriculum - should not be subject to interference by politicians. State governments and the federal government, however, should ensure that public schools in poor districts are funded adequately. Jonathan Kozol's book, "Savage Inequalities: Children in America's Schools" (1991) described the funding problem very well. If a federal Department of Education is necessary to eliminate savage inequality in school funding, then it should not be eliminated.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a 70-year-old American Jew who believes in the Golden Rule, which is central to Judaism and many other religions. Fifty years ago I became a pro-Palestinian, anti-Zionist, anti-Israel American Jew. When Israel began committing genocide against the 2.2 million Palestinian civilians living in the Gaza Strip on the day after October 7, 2023, the Zionist government of Israel threw away its right to exist. About half a million Palestinians have been murdered by the US and Israel. By supporting and joining Israel's genocide, Washington became the most evil government in the world, and Israel is the second most evil government. Most of the world's 8.3 billion people now hate and fear Israel and the US and want us to go away.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a legal concept, and governments have the right to define legal concepts.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Agree

Gambling goes on anyway, and it's silly for any government to try to prohibit it. Section 226 of the Kentucky Constitution should be repealed.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's upbringing, including their religious, health, and educational well-being.

Agree

Attempts to transition or encourage a child to transition to the opposite sex constitutes child abuse.

Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Secretary of State Michael Adams has a pretty good handle on the issue of voter identification and eliminating voter fraud. If I'm elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in November, I'll give serious consideration to what he has to say about this issue.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Neutral

There are many different forms of reparations, and some of them do not involve cash payments to individuals. My party, the Kentucky Party, has no position on reparations and is not likely to take a position on it in the foreseeable future.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Energy efficiency (wasting less electricity), followed by solar heating, photovoltaics, wind power, and other renewable energy technologies. I worked in the Energy and Environment Cabinet for 15 years and promoted energy efficiency and renewables.

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Neutral

Man-made climate change is real, but it is not the most urgent environmental problem facing humanity. The worst environmental threats, in order, are nuclear war, conventional wars, pollution from the weapons manufacturing industry also known as the military-industrial complex, the extinction of species, toxic chemicals in our land, air and water, environmental racism, and global warming.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

However, many of my positions on certain issues would be considered conservative or moderate.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

To enforce the law for all people equally, regardless of who they know, how powerful a position they hold, how many millions of dollars they have, or how much money they've donated to Democrat or Republican politicians. All corrupt, biased judges, including all six far-right-wing "justices" on the US Supreme Court today, should be impeached and removed from their powerful positions ASAP.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Disagree

You have no idea what Sharia law is, so you're not qualified to include a question about it in your survey.

The government should use automated-enforcement cameras to track speeding and criminal activity.

Strongly Disagree

No government will be able to resist the temptation to abuse new technologies to monitor everything we do. This country is in danger of becoming a totalitarian dungeon, and Flock cameras and sensors are already being used to violate our rights on a massive scale.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None.
