14. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

1. Annual deficit spending - government becomes bigger, We The People lose our authority. Our Republic is sliding towards larger central government, Socialism. We must limit our spending in both "safety-net" programs (about 60% of federal spending) and Military operations (about 18%). 2. Erosion of State Sovereignty - the expanding federal government has emasculated the authority of the sovereign states. Immigration is a state's responsibility (in support of federal naturalization). Social issues are the charge of the states, not the federal government. The federal government has usurped its authority detailed in Artlcle I Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States. Consider repeal of Amendment XVII. 3. The enormous federal debt, $18 Trillion and estimated to grow to $24 Trillion by 2024. Like the annual debt it grows government. In addition, it saddles our children and grandchildren with a debt burden that will offer no benefit to them. We are stealing from our decedents.

15. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Understandably, abortion is emotional for both perspectives. There are people of good conscience on both sides. Roe did not settle the issue; both sides can still exercise their conscience. I have two children, young adults, starting to become productive citizens. I have not been in a situation to consider abortion.

17. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am an orthodox, trinitarian Christian; I believe the doctrine of the Luther Church Missouri Synod (LCMS.org). This world view guides my personal conduct. I am always ready to share my faith. I am also a gentleman; if asked to stop my witness, I will stop immediately. In this situation (the other person does not want to discuss matters of God and faith), I can still be a friend and confidant.
