Probably Grizwold v. Conneticut, which was decided in 1965. Grizwold is the case in which the U.S. Supreme Court found that the Constitution provided a right to privacy. The Court found this right within what it described as "penumbras" within the Constitution. This opinion has been at the core of a number of decisions that have dramatically impacted the culture.

It is important to understand what the Legislature who passed a law understood to be the meaning of the words it chose to use in drafting the law.
