QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I am pro-life without exception.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
As a State Representative, I fought to ensure that Planned Parenthood doesn't receive a dime of taxpayer money.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
As a State Representative, I authored and passed legislation in Texas that bans the selling and importation of abortion-inducing drugs.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Disagree
Taxes should be fair, simple, and as low as possible for everyone. Helping working families means reducing the overall tax burden, eliminating unnecessary taxes, and letting people keep more of their earnings. A simpler, lower-tax system boosts the economy and creates opportunities for all. In the Texas Legislature, I fought for and helped pass laws banning the creation of state income tax, capital gains tax, and any inheritance tax in Texas.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
As a State Representative, I have filed legislation to ensure that, from local government to state government, all government is under a spending cap tied to population growth and inflation.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
1. Zero-based budgeting so every agency must justify spending from the ground up, not just increase last year’s budget. 2. Eliminate duplicative programs across agencies that perform the same functions. 3. Strengthen oversight and audits, with real consequences for waste, fraud, and abuse. 4. Modernize government technology to reduce inefficiency, delays, and administrative costs. 5. Sunset and review regulations and programs regularly to ensure they are effective and still necessary.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No individual or business should be coerced by the heavy hand of government to act contrary to their sincere religious beliefs. Protecting the freedom of conscience is a core constitutional principle, and it must apply in real-world situations, not just in theory. I have consistently defended that principle, including filing a lawsuit on behalf of a teacher who was fired for refusing to speak or act toward a child as if they were a different gender, contrary to the teacher’s beliefs.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
This is an often missed use phrase. It does not mean the prohibition of faith from government. Rather, it protects religious freedom by protecting the church from government intrusion. I’ve worked to protect that freedom by supporting the display of the Ten Commandments in classrooms and filing legislation to place a Nativity scene on the Capitol grounds during Christmas. Moreover, as an attorney, I've defended the rights of police officers to pray and read their Bibles on their lunch breaks.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. Ideally, the government should not be involved in healthcare. The existing programs need to reformed through block grants to states for flexibility, work requirements where appropriate, fraud elimination and reduction, and incentives for private alternatives. And Obamacare needs to be abolished.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. The government should stay out of the doctor-patient relationship. Creating databases of people's medical conditions raises serious privacy concerns and endangers individual liberty. History shows that when government intervenes in health care, costs rise, choices diminish, and outcomes worsen. I have fought these kinds of laws in Texas and will do the same in Washington.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious threats to our national security, economy, and food supply. In the Texas Legislature, I authored and helped pass legislation to prevent the Chinese Communist Party and its members or supporters from purchasing land in Texas. Moreover, as Chair of the House Agriculture & Livestock Committee, I fought to protect our agricultural industry from foreign adversaries seeking influence and control over critical resources.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The U.S. relationship with Israel is vitally important. As our strongest Middle East ally, Israel shares democratic values and Judeo-Christian heritage. Strategically, the relationship counters terrorism and Iran. Morally, we must combat antisemitism and support the Jewish people amid global threats.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Strongly Agree
Islamic terrorism is a real threat to our America's security and must be taken seriously. I have consistently fought to protect Texans from radical ideologies and foreign influence, including opposing efforts that would allow the spread of Sharia law or the creation of developments like the proposed EPIC City in Plano. America and Texas must remain governed by our Constitution and the rule of law.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Only those who immigrate legally, through a controlled, merit-based process that prioritizes America's national security, economic needs, public safety, and the rule of law. We must secure the border, enforce existing laws, end chain migration and lottery systems, and oppose amnesty. Legal immigration should benefit American citizens while welcoming those who assimilate and contribute positively.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
I do not support sanctuary cities. In fact as a state representative, I supported and strengthened legislation to ban sanctuary cities in Texas because local governments should not undermine the rule of law. I have also supported legislation requiring county sheriffs to partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to ensure that individuals in the country illegally who commit crimes are identified and deported.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
I have repeatedly called for the abolition of the U.S. Department of Education. I have also urged the Texas Education Agency to ignore any U.S. Department of Education directives that violate Texas law or contradict Texas values.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
As a member of the Texas House of Representatives, I filed similar legislation to ensure that foreign governments could not fund our education system in Texas, including state universities and colleges.
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
As a state legislator, I was proud to co-author and pass a bill in 2023 that prohibits chemical and surgical transitioning of children. Moreover, in 2025, I helped pass another law banning the social transitioning of children. In Congress, I will fight to pass a nationwide ban on this evil practice. Anyone—parent, teacher, or doctor—who aids in the social or physical transitioning of a child should be charged with a felony.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe that man was created in God's image but has fallen into sin, needing salvation. I believe that salvation can only be obtained through faith in Jesus Christ as one's Lord and Savior. I believe that salvation comes by grace through faith alone. I believe the Bible is inspired by God—inerrant, infallible, and the supreme authority for faith and practice.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
As Chair of the House Committee on Elections, I made it a priority to advance legislation that implemented a voter ID–style system for mail-in ballots to help prevent fraud and strengthen confidence in our elections.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
As a member of the Texas Legislature, I helped pass legislation that banned men from playing in girls' sports and voted for legislation that keeps men out of girls' bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, and prisons. It was an honor to play a role in protecting our wives and daughters from perverts in their private spaces and from mentally unstable men participating in their sports in Texas. I look forward to doing the same in D.C.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
The most reliable way to meet growing electricity demand is a diverse energy mix that includes oil, natural gas, and nuclear power. These sources provide dependable baseload energy, and we must stop subsidizing unreliable wind and solar.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
NO
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
NO
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
As a State Representative, I've been ranked the #1 most conservative legislator for multiple sessions by Rice University’s respected, nonpartisan study. In the years when I wasn't #1, I was #2. Also: 100% Rating from Texans for Strong Borders; 100% Score from Texas Right to Life; Career A+ from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility; named a Faith & Family Champion by Texas Values; named a Taxpayer Champion by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility; recipient of the Walk-the-Talk Award by iVoterGuide.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
I strongly agree. Government has a responsibility to protect children from those who seek to harm them. In Texas, I supported and voted for legislation to shield kids from harmful apps and websites, including laws requiring age verification for access to pornographic websites.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
NONE. The Second Amendment is absolute. As a member of the Texas Legislature, I authored and passed the law banning red-flag gun confiscation orders. I co-authored and passed constitutional carry. I'm proudly endorsed by Gun Owners of America, the National Association for Gun Rights, and the Texas Association for Gun Rights.
