QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
If the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, North Carolina should repeal its law allowing abortion up to 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Is there any fundamental difference between a baby who resides in his mother's uterus and one who has made an eight-inch journey down the birth canal? If so, what is that difference? At what point in the birth process does God's mantle of humanness fall upon an individual? Is there anything particularly mystical about the expulsion from the mother's body that could account for a transformation from mere protoplasm to a human being with an eternal soul? I think not. Surely the Lord does not look upon the baby inside the uterus with any less love and concern than one who enters the world a few minutes later. The only difference between them is that one can be seen and the other cannot. Is not all life given from God?
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The first thing to note is that the phrase doesn’t occur anywhere in the Constitution. U.S. would not have an official “State Church” like England. The English government officially supported the Church of England, using taxes. The founding fathers, did not want the same kind of church. The US Government is not to have one Official Government operated Church. But allow the Citizens to freely worship as they chose.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
This is a very complicated question. I dont believe the we need to be involved in government healthcare. If the private sector is in control the market will drive cost down.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State, sheriff and local law enforcement agencies should be required to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) 287(g) Program to enhance the safety and security of their communities to identify and detain aliens.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Any person who follows proper protocol, procedures and enters the country legally.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Make concealed carry permits more accessible. Give the concealed carry holder more responsibility. Release restrictions on Churches, and churches in close proximity to a school to legally allow concealed carry.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
No particular order.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I believe that our constitution is clear that the federal government should be limited. I am a strong proponent of states rights and feel like our federal government has greatly overstepped its boundaries. Citizens and the State knows what is best for them. Control needs to be in the hands of the people and not the Government.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
As a business owner of approx. 30 years has given me experience with regulations that our citizens deal with on a daily bases. For several years I served as County Commissioner this has given me the knowledge of the impacts legislation has on Counties and Cities. Serving a term in the NC House has given me the experience of how to pass good legislation that is beneficial to the entire state.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
During my tenure as your County Commissioner and NC House member I have worked hard to maintain a fiscal responsibility, enhance our community, support public safety and create an economic environment conducive to enhance business. Throughout my service, I have gained first-hand experience on the impacts that legislation has on our state, counties and cities. With our leadership the state has made some great improvements in regard to tax reform. In order to create a competitive national market for economic development we need to continue to cut the red tape-regulations that impedes our growth and create a less intrusive government. I count it a great privilege to serve you and feel with my experience I could be even more effective in the Senate. If elected I want to use my experience and common-sense leadership to guide my decisions I will continue to make sound financial decisions that will affect the lives of our children and grandchildren and generations to come.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Parents should have the right to know what schools are teaching their children about sex and LGBT issues and should have the right to opt their children out of any instruction to which they object.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a strong conservative Christian and have a Biblical world-view. The Bible is the infallible Word of God. I believed that all men are born with a sin nature in need of forgiveness. I believe the Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, died and rose again and is the mediator between God the Father and man. I believe salvation is available for all.
