QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?
I will help pass a heartbeat bill. The heartbeat is the universal sign of life, and should always be protected.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Again, The heartbeat is the universal sign of life, and should always be protected.
Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?
Yes
ECONOMY
The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.
Strongly Disagree
If you remove the incentive to be a success, everyone will lose hope of the American Dream.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Increase the Zero-tax bracket, Cut Personal tax rate from 5.25% to 3%, Increase child tax Deduction, Eliminate all income tax on our military.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
College education is an investment and students should be responsible and they will be motivated to succeed. When you work hard and pay for something it means much more to you.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Religious liberty is a foundational principle of enduring importance in America, enshrined in our Constitution and other sources of federal law.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None; Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The establishment clause separates church from state, but not religion from politics or public life. Individual citizens are free to bring their religious convictions into the public arena. But the government is prohibited from favoring one religious view over another or even favoring religion over non-religion.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am against any and all forced vaccinations.
EDUCATION
States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.
Strongly Agree
Education should be the Choice of the Parents.
In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?
There is No situation that the parent should not know what is being taught.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Never, A Public comment period is required according to law.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Judeo-Christian Values truly are the basis for the United States. From these common values our common laws are based. The Founding Fathers of this nation built upon these values; formally recognizing that all individuals are born with unalienable rights from a creator. These divine rights can never be infringed upon by men. The limited government our founders envisioned were intended, to recognize these individual rights and to preserve them.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
We should never have protected classes. We need to live by the Golden Rule and you will never see discrimination. Matthew (7:12): “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. . . .” This rule of conduct is a summary of our duty to our neighbors and states a fundamental ethical principle.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
We need to support the teaching a full, accurate and honest account of American history. Critical race theory is not a historical discipline. We don't want to remove history its quite the opposite. I want to restrict abusive practices that violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a strong conservative Christian and have a Biblical world-view. The Bible is the infallible Word of God. I believed that all men are born with a sin nature in need of forgiveness. I believe the Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, died and rose again and is the mediator between God the Father and man. I believe salvation is available for everyone.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Every individual who is eligible to vote should have the opportunity to do so. It is equally important, however, that the votes of eligible voters are not diluted by a bogus vote cast by an ineligible or imaginary voter.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Pass legislation that creates a mobile unit that will bring ID's to anyone at no cost.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. We have to address the environment in a balanced, calculated and phased in approach.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Establish laws, providing order and security, protecting people from external threats, and providing for the general welfare.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I believe that our constitution is clear that the federal government should be limited. I am a strong proponent of states rights and feel like our federal government has greatly overstepped its boundaries. Citizens and the State knows what is best for them. Control needs to be in the hands of the People and Not the Government.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
During my tenure as County Commissioner and NC House & NC Senate member I have worked hard to maintain a fiscal responsibility, enhance our community, support public safety and create an economic environment conducive to enhance business. Throughout my service, I have gained first-hand experience on the impacts that legislation has on our state, counties and cities. With our leadership the state has made some great improvements in regard to tax reform. In order to create a competitive national market for economic development we need to continue to cut the red tape-regulations that impedes our growth and create a less intrusive government. I count it a great privilege to serve you and feel with my experience I can continue to be effective in Senate district 30. I will continue to use my experience and common-sense leadership to guide my decisions. I will continue to make sound financial decisions that will affect the lives of our children and grandchildren and generations to come.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Make concealed carry permits more accessible. Give the concealed carry holder more responsibility. Release restrictions on Churches, and churches in close proximity to a school to legally allow concealed carry.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?
