Texas Values Action's reasons for endorsing Stephanie Klick.
As chair of the Public Health committee, Klick gave a hearing to and advanced HB 1399 out of committee that would have protected children from harmful gender transition procedures.

QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Fetal Demise
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I have voted for restriction on this as a member of the Texas Legislature
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. During the last Legislative Session we passed a Constitutional Amendment, which the voters approved in November, to prohibit this from ever occurring. I strongly supported this legislation.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Controlling our border will greatly reduce the threat in the US. The federal government has failed to secure our border. As a member of the Texas Legislature I have consistently voted for the use of state funds to put more boots on the ground along our border with Mexico. During the last Legislative Session we increased that funding by nearly 2 billion dollars.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I voted for the Texas Anti-BDS legislation which passed in 2017. Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East. We must stand with our friend and ally and oppose efforts to weaken them.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
(C) I do not support expanding Medicaid to cover able bodied working adults. Medicaid pays for the care of our most vulnerable citizens, including the disabled and elderly individuals in nursing homes, who are unable to care for themselves.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
As a nurse I know that ethics and law in our country requires informed consent for medical care. Coercion by a third party is not consent. The choice to be vaccinated should reside with the individual. I recently signed on to an Amicus brief in support of a lawsuit by Texans for Responsible Government. This lawsuit challenges President Biden’s unconstitutional attempts to impose a vaccine mandate through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The federal tax code needs to be greatly simplified.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
As a member of the Legislature I have voted to cut spending in order to balance our state budget. I have voted for a balanced state budget during all 5 terms in the Legislature. Additionally, I recently voted for a bill that has been a long time priority for conservatives. Going forward, government growth in Texas will not be allowed to surpass the rate of inflation plus population. Passing a law requiring a federal balanced budget is long overdue. Additionally, the federal government should adopt Texas’ Sunset Review process for federal agencies and reform or eliminate unnecessary ones. A good agency to begin such a review would be the US Department of Education.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
I disagree. The Texas Constitution does require the establishment and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools, but it does not require College. Not every student has the desire or aptitude to attend college. Many careers today do not require a college degree.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Sadly, however, the Biden/Harris administration is turning a blind eye to the crisis at the border (largely created by them). That’s why I voted for the largest border security funding plan in Texas history, including $250 million for the border wall.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who do so legally, that have been vetted to not be a threat to our country, and who have a means of supporting themselves.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
I strongly agree, provided departmental policy is not in conflict with law.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Disagree
I oppose the “Defund the Police” crowd, and am a staunch supporter of the men and women in blue who protect our communities and keep us safe. Additionally, I helped pass legislation to stop cities from defunding their police departments by freezing their ability to collect any new property tax revenues and removing their power of annexation.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am the only candidate in this race endorsed by the NRA and the Texas State Rifle Association. I oppose any new restrictions on gun ownership. In the recent past, it has become even more evident we must be vigilant in defending our constitutional right to defend our family, property, and even our lives. That’s why I have consistently voted to protect our Second Amendment freedoms, and will continue to oppose efforts by liberal gun-grabbers who try to impose restrictions on law abiding citizens. In the last session alone, I supported 12 pro-Second Amendment bills that passed into law, including the landmark Constitutional Carry bill.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To secure and protect the lives, rights and liberties of its citizens. To provide for our national defense, including securing our border.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative

Human Coalition Action is honored to endorse her candidacy and continued leadership in 2022.” Chelsey Youman, Pro-Life Texans a Human Coalition Action PAC 1-12-2022 Endorsement Press Release HuCo Action PAC Endorsement Letter Klick.pdf I was recently named a “Faith and Family Champion” by Texas Values. Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
no
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
During the last Legislative Session we passed a record 12 prolife bills out of the committee I chair. I plan to continue to work on policies that promote a culture of life, border security, property tax reform and election integrity. My legislative priorities, and my record, have earned me the following endorsements: Former Governor and Trump Energy Secretary Rick Perry Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson Texas Right to Life Susan B. VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again Christian who is prolife and supports marriage as between one man and one woman. I attend church and read my Bible daily. I strive to reflect my Christian faith in all aspects of my life, including how I conduct myself as a public servant.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
During the last legislative Session we passed legislation that extended the photo ID requirement for ballot by mail. I strongly supported this new requirement.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Projecting on a screen and recording the deliberations of the Signature Verification Committee and Ballot Board when considering questionable signatures, duplicating ballots, processing provisional ballots. By projecting this on a screen, official observers can more meaningfully see what is occurring. Such recordings would be preserved as part permanent records for the election. This would validate for the public that proper procedures were followed.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
It can be if we let it. We are living in a very polarizing time. We have groups on the left that are seeking to divide us on racial lines, rather than the content of our character.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
(A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Disagree
