QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Public funds should be directed toward essential services, not abortion providers. This includes ending taxpayer funding—direct or indirect—to organizations such as Planned Parenthood through programs like Title X.
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
We should focus more on supporting mothers, families, adoption, and prenatal care—so fewer women ever feel like abortion is their only option.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Agree
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
Human life does not lose its value because it was created through artificial means. I believe human embryos deserve protection and should not be purposefully destroyed.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Agree
Federal law should be enforced as written, including the Comstock Act. At the same time, enforcement should be clear, consistent, and focused on preventing the unlawful distribution of abortion-inducing drugs, while ensuring legitimate medical care and lawful prescriptions are not disrupted.
ECONOMY
What is your position on the minimum wage?
As a former small business owner, I understand firsthand how payroll mandates impact hiring, prices, and job growth. I believe wages should rise because businesses are thriving and workers are gaining skills—not because government mandates force high
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
As a former small business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how free enterprise and strong private property rights drive job creation, innovation, and economic growth. These principles are essential to a productive and resilient economy.
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
My top priorities to eliminate government waste are simple: accountability, transparency, efficiency, and making sure taxpayers receive value for every dollar government spends. 1. Require regular performance and efficiency reviews of state agencies. Every state agency and major program should be required to demonstrate measurable results. Programs that are duplicative, outdated, ineffective, or no longer serving their intended purpose should be consolidated, reformed, or eliminated. Government
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state” means that the government cannot establish or control a religion, and churches should not run the government. It does not mean that people of faith must leave their values at the door or be excluded from the public square. Americans are free to live out their beliefs, speak openly, and participate fully in civic life without government interference.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Individuals and businesses should not be forced by the government to provide services that violate their moral or religious beliefs. Protecting freedom of conscience and religious liberty is a core constitutional principle, and no one should be compelled to act against deeply held beliefs to participate in society or earn a living.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Medicaid and Medicare should remain available for those who depend on them, but no additional taxpayer-funded healthcare programs are necessary. I believe we should focus on strengthening existing programs, increasing affordability through competition and transparency, and protecting patient choice—rather than expanding government control over healthcare.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
The government should not maintain databases tracking individuals’ medical illnesses. However, I do support hospitals and medical providers using secure, limited databases to improve patient care and help prevent prescription drug abuse by allowing doctors to see what medications have already been prescribed. These tools should be focused on patient safety, privacy, and clinical care—not government surveillance or economic profiling.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
The relationship between the United States and Israel is critically important because Israel is a key democratic ally in the Middle East, a vital partner in intelligence and counterterrorism, and a strategic force for regional stability. Supporting Israel strengthens U.S. national security, protects shared democratic values, and helps deter hostile regimes and terrorist organizations that threaten both nations.
IMMIGRATION
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Disagree
I do not support sanctuary cities. Local governments should cooperate with state and federal law enforcement to uphold the rule of law and protect public safety. Policies that shield individuals from lawful immigration enforcement undermine accountability and put communities at risk.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and returning control of education to states, local communities, and parents. Education decisions are best made closest to the students they serve not by a distant federal bureaucracy.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Agree
American education should never be influenced by foreign governments. I support prohibiting foreign governments and entities they control from funding our schools and universities. We must protect academic independence, sensitive research, and ensure our educational institutions remain accountable to American students, parents, and taxpayers.
VALUES
Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.
Agree
Parents have the primary responsibility and fundamental right to make decisions regarding their children's education, health, and well being. Government should respect and protect that role while ensuring children are protected from abuse or neglect. Parents, not government bureaucracy, should be the first voice in decisions affecting their children.
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse. Children deserve protection, age appropriate care, and the time to develop without being subjected to irreversible decisions or social pressures that can cause long-term harm.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Neutral
I believe marriage, as defined by faith traditions, is a sacred union. At the same time, I recognize that government’s role is to define and administer civil marriage under the law. Religious institutions should retain full freedom to define and practice marriage according to their beliefs, without government interference, and no church or faith community should ever be compelled to recognize or perform a marriage that conflicts with its doctrine.
I support the expansion of gambling in my state.
Agree
I support allowing the expansion of gambling in our state because, under current law, Texans are spending billions of dollars gambling in neighboring states instead of keeping that economic activity at home. Estimates suggest Texans wager as much as $8 billion annually outside the state and that Texas loses an estimated ~$300 million in potential tax revenue to other states like Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico by not offering legal gambling options.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I grew up in the Church of Christ, where my father was a preacher, and that upbringing instilled in me a strong sense of service, personal responsibility, and respect for others. While my faith shapes my values, I believe in protecting religious freedom and treating everyone with dignity, regardless of their beliefs.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Voting is a fundamental right, and protecting the integrity of elections is essential to maintaining public trust. Requiring photo identification is a common-sense measure that helps prevent fraud, ensures fair elections, and treats voting with the same level of security required for many everyday activities. Reasonable ID requirements can be implemented while still ensuring eligible voters have access to the ballot.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
I do not support reparations based on race. Public policy should treat individuals equally under the law and focus on addressing current challenges such as education, economic opportunity, and community safety without dividing people by race or assigning responsibility based on ancestry.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Agree
I believe women's sports and private spaces should remain protected based on biological sex. This includes athletic competition, bathrooms, locker rooms, shelters, prisons, and other areas where privacy, safety, and fairness matter. We can treat every person with dignity and respect while still maintaining appropriate protections for women and girls.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Disagree
Our climate changes and human activity can have an impact, but I do not believe that justifies rushed political mandates that raise energy costs and hurt Texas families and businesses. We should pursue cleaner air, reliable energy, innovation, and responsible stewardship while keeping energy affordable and protecting our economy.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Natural gas and nuclear power are our most reliable options for meeting growing electricity demand. Texas needs dependable, affordable power available around the clock. Wind and solar can supplement our grid, but reliability must come first.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I consider myself a conservative because I believe in limited government, personal responsibility, free enterprise, strong national defense, and the protection of individual liberties, including religious freedom. My views are shaped by a commitment to the Constitution, public service, and practical solutions that put families, workers, and communities first.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?
The goal of the criminal justice system should be to protect public safety, hold offenders accountable, and ensure justice is applied fairly and consistently. Growing up with a father who served as a police chief, and through my own career in public service, I learned firsthand the importance of supporting victims, respecting the rule of law, and ensuring consequences for crime while allowing opportunities for rehabilitation when appropriate.
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Agree
Government has a responsibility to protect children from online sexual exploitation, trafficking, grooming, and predatory behavior. We should aggressively prosecute those who exploit children and hold platforms accountable when they knowingly enable it, while protecting constitutional rights and parental authority.
Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.
Strongly Agree
The Constitution and laws of the United States must remain the supreme legal authority. No religious legal system, including Sharia law, should replace or override federal or state law or the constitutional rights of any American. Everyone is free to practice their faith, but our laws must apply equally to every person regardless of religion.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support enforcing existing laws against violent criminals and individuals who illegally possess or use firearms. We should focus on prosecuting criminals, not creating new restrictions that burden law abiding gun owners. The Second Amendment is a constitutional right, and public safety can be protected without taking rights away from responsible citizens.
