My oath of office would require me as City Council and as a member of City Council as a body to uphold this law. Free enterprise and property rights are inherent to the U.S. Constitution’s initial construction and adoption, as well an inherent to oath of office any elective officer holder takes. One’s personal views whatever they may be. Are subordinate to the oath one takes.

As an elected official, should a majority of the voters grant me the consent to serve them, my office obligated me to support the laws enacted at the federal and state level, as well as the applicable judicial precedents. The Virginia Beach City Council has no jurisdiction to enact legislation within the scope of this question.

Not a policy question within the City Council’s decision-making “wheel house.” I have a personal opinion, which may or may not aligne with consensus judgment of Disttict 9 voters. I woukd engage the residents of District 9 to discern their direction and then act accordingly. Taking no position or action may be the result.

While personally elected believe the statement to be true and very troublesome, there is no place to inject my personal view into the scope of a council member’s duties. The Supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution lis part of the oath of office I would take if elected. Therefore, I would be obligated to support the “supremacy clause”” as interpreted for application by the governing federal courts’ judicial precedents. While a council member may have a private personal opinion, their opinion as a council member must be that local governments have no authority to adopt ordinances or other policies that violate the Constitution’s “Supremacy clause.”

I have a private performed opinion on the eject l. As City Council m over I would not support City Council as a body adopting a resolution I advising the Congress on what actions they take for an issue that is exclusive within the lane of Virginia Beach School Board, when school boards are a creation of the Virginia Constitution. City Council needs to focus on its core responsibilities.

The U.S. Supreme Court as of late had issued rulings that has validated this is not a “should”, but a “shall”. The Virginia Beach School Board not the Virginia Beach City Council that as the exclusive compliance obligations per the VA Constitution. To the extent that funding was a component of compliance, the city council would have a funding responsibility.

The U. S. Constitution, the Virginia Constitution, City’s Charter and applicable judicial precedents that a candidate must swear to uphold to be certified as the office holder after being elected is what matters. Your spiritual beliefs and personal values are subordinate to the obligation of one’s office. Being a Lutheran or an Scout adult leader who weekly takes the Scout Oath and states the Scout law, the city council oath of office will dictate my decision-making, if and when there is a conflict.

The U.S.Supreme Court has ruled on this matter. It’s ruling has decided the statement shared is not the exclusive definition of marriage under the U.S. Constitution. As stated earlier, my personal views as a Lutheran are subordinate in the execution of my duties as a council member, if elected, per the oath of office I would have taken.

To blindly without regard to a person’s attributes to deliver reason judgments objectively based on the facts subject to constitutional due process requirements. By consistently conforming to the latter, all the stakeholders in the criminal justice system will have the public’s confidence and the system’s aggregated decisions will serve as a source of deterring crime.

The U.S. Constitution requires the separation of church and state. It is the U.S. Constitution that dictates this reply. The Virginia Beach city Council has no authority to enact legislation giving any religion’s beliefs statutory status.

I support the U.S. Supreme Court’s decisions on the 2nd Amendment in defining the right to possess a gun, manufacturer a gun and ammunition, and transit with a gun and ammunition that is beyond any governments ability to regulate or trespass. Likewise, I support the factual defined conditions and context narrowly prescribed where governments are permitted to regulate gun ownership the U.S. Supreme Court has validated in their rulings.
