QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Up to 15 weeks in most cases including rape, incest. After that period, when it's medical necessity to save the mother or when it's clear the child cannot survive outside of the womb. It should be up to the doctor / patient to make these decisions not government.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Neutral

A doctor is already liable for malpractice prior to 15 weeks.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Disagree

Prohibition creates black markets.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

1% of the population makes minimum wage. Of that 1% nearly half are under the age of 25 and many are servers who get tips. Minimum wage should be set by workers and employers whenever possible. Most entry level jobs exceed the current minimum wage.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

More laws should have a sunset clause. If there is a program with a set goal to "fix" a problem in society it should be appropriately benchmarked to accomplish this goal effectively or eliminated entirely. The state government needs more social outreach to inform citizens about future plans / expenditures because many of them would be shot down if the public knew. More transparency for bids / contracts for state level projects.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It goes both ways. The church shouldn't be dictating public policy, and the state shouldn't be dictating legal church activities.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

China learned from us and now they are a threat to our dominant position in the world economy as the world reserve currency. That being said, I believe they are an important trading partner and hope our two nations continue to cooperate and engage in healthy competition in the future.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Support for Israel matters to many Americans. Still, I think Israel has too much influence on U.S. politics through AIPAC, prominent social-media voices, and intelligence relationships. We can stay allies without being expected to send billions in aid every year and treat our weapons as a permanent military guarantee, especially while we have serious economic problems at home.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Neutral

This issue is downstream of border policy and the welfare state. People who crossed the border illegally broke federal law. Cities should be able to set their own rules, but under our system the federal and state governments can still respond in an authoritarian way and remove them. Sanctuary cities ultimately put undocumented people at greater risk of violence. The real fix is immigration reform that addresses the problem at the root.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

"Marriage" is a religious term and also a legal term. The legal variant should be available to consenting adults that choose to engage in a civil union.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Agree

The state should leave gambling services to the private sector.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in god, I want to help contribute to society in any way I can with the ultimate goal of peace, prosperity and cooperation. I don't think everything in life has to be Machiavellian or a game. I want to be a dad one day, and I want to serve my country.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Unfortunately the parties are too Machiavellian to have elections without verification.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

The biggest polluter is China. Everybody wants a healthy environment for themselves. Up to this point, the solutions are always more money and power to global institutions who seem to ignore the optics of their own carbon footprints including war. Ultimately technology will need to replace dirty industry and we are nearly there.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

In order of magnitude, Nuclear, Hydrogen, Solar, Geothermal, Wind, Wave Power. We need a combination of everything but it needs to be cohesively designed and mixed with modern architecture.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

I lean left or right based on the subject whether its economics (right) personal choices (left). But I ultimately am Libertarian (less government) in relation to authoritarian (more government). I strive to be an anarcho-capitalist but I realize this country is no where close to that reality.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

Protection of life, liberty, property, and private contracts.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

Online service providers should be liable for content on their platforms.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Criminals don't follow restrictions. More people should carry weapons to fill gaps in police / security coverage. This issue is downstream from mental health.
