QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Abortion should be considered only in cases of rape, incest (prior to viability of the child), or when necessary to save the life of the mother. These exceptions acknowledge the gravity of the situation while preserving the sanctity of life. In these specific circumstances, the decision must be made with the utmost care, compassion, and respect for both the unborn and the mother's well-being. If we are to err, it should always be on the side of life.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

No matter what form an abortion may take, it must be carefully considered and understood that it is ending a life. No abortion of any type should be considered as a form of birth control or as a matter of convenience.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Abortion is a deeply sensitive and personal issue, one that involves complex moral, ethical, and emotional considerations. Given its nature, it is essential that no taxpayer dollars be used to fund abortions. Public funds should be directed toward supporting life-affirming services and ensuring that every individual, regardless of circumstance, has access to the resources and support needed to make informed and compassionate choices.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

"Aid in dying" laws, given their sensitive nature, should mandate strong counseling requirements to ensure patients make fully informed decisions. Participation should be voluntary, allowing healthcare providers to opt out based on personal beliefs. Those who choose to participate should be legally protected from prosecution and professional repercussions, ensuring they can assist without fear of harm while respecting patient autonomy.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property, as cornerstones of capitalism, are essential for individual success and innovation. This system has driven economic growth, expanded opportunities, and improved quality of life more than any other. By fostering competition and rewarding hard work, capitalism empowers individuals to pursue their ambitions, create wealth, and contribute to societal progress while preserving personal freedoms.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Raising the minimum wage can lead to businesses cutting jobs/reducing hours to offset higher labor costs. It can also increase prices for consumers and make it harder for low-skilled workers to find entry-level jobs, harming those it aims to help.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

Using ESG criteria as an investment tool for taxpayer dollars can pose several risks. It prioritizes ideological goals over financial returns, leading to lower investment performance. This can result in reduced funding for public services. Additionally, ESG investing might limit options and favor certain industries, possibly neglecting more profitable opportunities. There is also a risk of political and social agendas influencing decisions, impacting the impartial management of taxpayer funds.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The only acceptable circumstance for government closure of a church is where there is an imminent threat to public safety due to physical damage to the structure. For instance, if structural damage poses a risk of collapse or other hazards that could endanger occupants, temporary closure may be necessary to ensure safety. Such measures should be strictly limited to situations where safety is at immediate risk and should be carried out with minimal disruption to religious practices and freedoms.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

No private business or individual should be compelled to provide a service in conflict with their moral or religious convictions. Respecting personal beliefs is essential to preserving individual freedom and conscience. While businesses must operate within the law, forcing them to act against their deeply held principles undermines their liberty and can lead to broader societal conflicts. Balancing legal obligations with respect for personal values is crucial in a fair and respectful society.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C. While a social safety net is essential for those unable to afford healthcare, the government should not compete directly with private industry. Instead, it should focus on ensuring access and affordability without undermining the innovation and efficiency that private healthcare providers can offer. A balanced approach can help maintain quality care while supporting those in need.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Protecting individual freedoms even while maintaining public safety is vital. Requiring (proven safe) vaccinations must considered only to prevent widespread outbreaks of deadly diseases, protect public health, and safeguard vulnerable populations.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

China poses a significant threat to our economy, national security, and other critical areas. Their aggressive economic practices, including intellectual property theft and unfair trade policies, undermine American industries. Additionally, their military expansion and cyber espionage efforts jeopardize our national security. We must remain vigilant and take strategic actions to protect our interests and uphold the values of freedom and democracy.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Our nation's relationship with Israel is critical due to shared democratic values, strategic military cooperation, and mutual economic benefits. Israel is a key ally in a volatile region, providing intelligence, innovation, and military collaboration that enhance our national security. This partnership also promotes stability in the Middle East, supports counterterrorism efforts, and strengthens global alliances, ensuring both nations remain secure and prosperous.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

It is critical we do more to control our borders to ensure national security, protect public resources, and maintain the rule of law. Uncontrolled borders have led to a surge in illegal immigration, human trafficking, and drug smuggling, all of which threaten our communities. Strengthening border control is essential to our national security, safeguarding our economy, preserving jobs for American citizens, and ensuring that legal immigration processes are respected and enforced.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

Education dollars should follow the student, allowing parents to choose the best educational path for their child. Shifting from funding schools to funding students empowers families but will require strong guardrails to ensure fairness, accountability, and quality. Measures to protect against misuse can ensure all students have access to quality education, and maintain equal opportunities for all students. Opening education to more private sector competition can increase choice and quality.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Children must be protected from all forms of abuse, including exposure to harmful gender ideologies, grooming, and bodily mutilation. It is crucial to ensure that they grow up in a safe environment where their physical and psychological well-being is prioritized. Parents and communities must work together to safeguard children from exploitation and harmful practices, ensuring they receive the care and guidance needed to develop into healthy, well-adjusted adults.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Parents absolutely have the right to make decisions for their minor children. They are the primary caregivers and are best positioned to understand their child's unique needs, values, and well-being. This ensures that decisions regarding education, health, and upbringing align with the family's beliefs and priorities. While certain safeguards are necessary to protect children from harm, parental rights are fundamental to preserving family autonomy and nurturing responsible future citizens.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Taxpayer funds should not be used to provide gender transition services. These procedures are deeply personal and involve complex ethical considerations that taxpayers should not be compelled to fund, especially when they may conflict with their moral or religious beliefs. Public funds should focus on universally essential services, leaving gender transition decisions and expenses to individuals and families, who can seek private means of support if they choose.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

Marriage is a fundamental institution that has been recognized for centuries across cultures and religions. No government should to alter this definition, as it is rooted in divine law and natural order. Upholding this traditional definition of marriage is essential for the preservation of society's moral fabric and the stability of the family unit. Civil unions recognized for the purpose of ensuring equal treatment and protection under the law protect constitutional rights.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian man who respects others' beliefs while firmly holding to my own. I view my faith as a guiding light and source of truth. I believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and follow the teachings of the Bible, finding strength and purpose in prayer, and endeavor to live a Christ-centered life. I acknowledge and respect diverse perspectives, but remain steadfast in my convictions, understanding that tolerance does not necessitate compromise. My faith informs my values and actions, promoting care and respect for all, regardless of differing beliefs. I serve each day knowing that my actions will someday be judged by Him and seek to make a positive impact in all I do.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Requiring voters to show ID can strengthens the integrity of elections by decreasing the risk of fraud, such as impersonation or double voting. It would strengthen public confidence in election results, potentially limiting disputes and decreased voter turnout. Without ID verification, it becomes more difficult to ensure that each vote is legitimate, which can compromise the fairness and accuracy of the democratic process. However, a process for provisional ballots should be available to all.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

No. The Electoral College is vital in our federation of states, ensuring that smaller states have a voice in presidential elections and preventing dominance by populous regions. A national popular vote would shift focus to major urban areas, marginalizing rural and less populous states. This could lead to imbalanced campaigning and policies that ignore the diverse needs of the entire nation, weakening the federal structure designed to balance power across all states.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Those who fan the flames of racism or perpetuate division are a direct threat to domestic security and tranquility, as they erode social cohesion and incite conflict. Racism should never be tolerated. It undermines the principles of equality and justice, fueling hatred and division within our nation. To preserve unity and peace, it is essential to reject racism in all forms, and those that who seek to profit from it, and promote understanding, respect, and equality among all citizens.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a race-focused application of Marxist Critical Theory that seeks to divide people by race, rather than unite them as individuals. By framing society as a struggle between oppressors and the oppressed based on race, CRT undermines national unity and fosters resentment. This approach weakens the fabric of our society, creating division rather than promoting the shared values that strengthen our nation. While not perfect, this U.S. is not fundamentally racist.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

While individual beliefs should be tolerated, this tolerance does not extend to actions that endanger women or create unfair competitive environments. Protecting women's spaces and sports is essential to ensure safety, fairness, and equal opportunities. Allowing policies that compromise these principles undermines the hard-fought progress women have made.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A and C. The U.S. has the cleanest energy production in the world. Adding additional unnecessarily strict environmental laws causes job loss and harms the economy by raising costs for businesses and consumers. Excessive regulation weakens U.S. energy independence and national security by restricting the development of domestic energy resources. Moreover, such regulations hinder the growth of reliable electricity sources, which can lead to energy shortages and higher utility costs for consumers.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Natural gas and nuclear power are two sources of electricity that can support current and future energy needs. Both technologies are mature, reliable, and can provide consistent, large-scale energy for a stable and sustainable power grid.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect the rights of citizens, support an environment where individuals can thrive, and provide essential services that cannot be provided by the private sector.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I consider myself to be a thoughtful person who embraces a conservative, liberty-minded philosophy. I value personal responsibility, individual freedom, and the principles of limited government. I approach life with empathy, seeking to uplift others through self-reliance, faith, and community support. I believe in protecting personal freedoms while ensuring that compassion guides my actions, striving to balance the well-being of society with the preservation of individual rights.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support defunding the police. While it is important to address significant social and mental health issues, the growing lawlessness and violence in our communities demand strong policing. Law enforcement is essential for maintaining order and protecting citizens. Rather than defunding, we should focus on improving police training and resources to ensure they can effectively and fairly uphold the law while addressing the underlying social issues.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The only answer that can be given and sufficiently explained in the 500 characters available is: NONE.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Allowing teachers to be armed in the classroom can enhance school security by providing an immediate line of defense against potential threats. It acts as a deterrent to would-be attackers and can reduce response time in critical situations, potentially saving lives. When properly trained, armed teachers can create a safer learning environment, giving both students and parents peace of mind that there is a proactive measure in place to protect them.
