QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

This is a highly contentious area for our times and people should not be forced to contribute to something that is against their core philosophies or faith beliefs. I also believe we could do more legally with new paternity laws shifting the burden to both parties involved.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Within the private communication between the woman and her health provider.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Greater love has not man (or woman) who lays down their life for another. We model these actions everyday from our military, our police, individuals who are organ donors to people they do not even know. It is a greater calling to then protect the weakest among us.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

These are dangerous drugs which should never be administered without the supervision of a physician.

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

There is a balance. When the minimum wage is set too high it encroaches on small businesses ability to run; whereas when the wage is too low workers can be taken advantage of.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Transparency - any public money spent should be open to the the public for their review, and input Accountability - there needs to be results or other forms of output from money spent; budgets must stay within their limits Delineation - clearer lines need to be made which is the responsibility of the government and which is not necessary Innovation - new sources need to be identified to meet needs and encourage growth

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government should never impose the practice of one religion, while forbidding the expression of others; however, the government can allow individuals to practice their own religion as the natural course of their lives, such as allowing for individuals to pray either during their set times or personally throughout their day.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The state cannot force business to provide services that are against their moral core. That would be imposing the state belief on an individual or business.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B - but Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available only in the event the individual cannot acquire healthcare on their own through their work, or other avenues.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

Creating a database documenting individuals with sever medical illness is an egregious form of discrimination and should never be tolerated.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes it is, they have been a strong and reliable ally. Israel is a leader in innovation and technology and has been a strong presence in the middle east for the rest of the World. As a Christian it is my belief that God's blessing are with those who bless Israel, as well as God's curses are with those who curse Israel. As a Believer, I am called to pray for the peace of Israel.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Disagree

I support the laws of this country. So many of us have grandparents, spouses or our own story of coming to this country. If the laws are not sufficient then we need to work with our law-makers to change them. We cannot have separate laws in random cities that do not support the country as a whole.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Agree

Education is the responsibility of the State. It is a check and balance within our republic so that no one group might impose an ideology upon the entire country. I believe that federal government could set broad standards such as children should have and education, and they should master particular milestones in reading, mathematics, global awareness, and science.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

Foreign governments or companies can make contributions to funds designated for education that the State determines how they are spent. It may be the case an individual or company, or foreign power may have excessive resources and believe in education, then they can make a contribution to the general fund and they state will allocate the monies as they deem necessary.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

I recognize there is a place for civil unions that would have the same legal authority as a marriage and should be an option.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

The expansion of electronic gambling is an area unchecked and not fully monitored. So many people are gambling from young to old on every aspect of a sports activity and the losses are substantial. We cannot ignore this situation because it will only get worse. I do not support the expansion of gambling and would cooperate to reduce the options.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who is in three persons. I believe in God the Father who created the world and out of love sent his son Jesus, the second person of the trinity, who came to earth as a baby, lived a sinless, perfect life, and died on a cross and rose on the third day that I would be forgiven from my sins and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. I believe in the third person of the trinity as the Holy spirt who indwells believers and is my counselor, my helper, my instructor.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

People need a photo for everything, school, work, the gym, the library, etc. Our vote is our highest privilege, why would we not want to guard it. As an election judge it does concern me that individuals can register on the day of an election without formal proof of citizenship and their vote count unrestricted.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Human Genome Project (1990-2003) conducted by the National Human Genome Research Institute which falls under the NIH proved that there is one race, the "human race." Prejudice's rage even to this day fueled by lack of knowledge and personal interest. This is the greatest country in the World and we are a learning country. We strive to make changes and improve. Even in my lifetime woman would not own property but today I own my own home and we celebrate many woman 'owned businesses.'

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Neutral

We are a privileged nation, and if we as a nation, as communities, as people to deny ourselves even just a little then climate change will not happen. I can begin by every straw not needing to be wrapped, or we can minimize our use of plastic bottles for pop and water. We should be better stewards of our environment, and that can be encouraged by our government.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

I do not believe there is a single best source. I believe a diverse which provides energy to the appropriate sources is the best solution.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

To hold citizens accountable to the laws we have. To work with our agencies to be integral contributors to their communities.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I do not believe that the regular citizen needs to have a military grade weapon unless they are actively part of the military and on duty.
