QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

When the mother’s life is in danger and her medical physician believes this is the only recourse. In instances of rape or incest that too should be under the direction of a physician, and in addition the social worker or legal authorities. In the case of incest and/or rape there should be arrest that follow.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

These should never be accessible over the counter without medical supervision.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Planned parenthood should not receive tax dollars for “abortion services.” They offer other services which I do not disagree with their receiving tax dollars.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Currently if a patient believes the cancer has progressed too far with he consultation of the family and physician they can go through hospice for respectable end of life outcome.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I believe there needs to be a balance. There needs to be a study which takes into account what a business can sustain and what is reasonable. It may mean that there are tiers of minimum wage. It seems ludicrous that minimum wage for a professional

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Choose not to answer

I do not have enough information regarding how this practice is currently be used (or abused) to answer honestly.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

In the United States, never. They should not have been closed during COVID either. They could be given guidelines such as safe practices, but there was no reason people could not come for council or other necessary services when grocery stores and businesses such as UPS were fully up and running. We know now the detrimental impact the extreme and unbalanced isolation had on people.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

We are a free economy and have a right to practice our religion. I realize that there would be some to take this idea to the extreme. If you are the only physician in a 300-mile radius and an individual needs life-giving care, even if their lifestyle is contrary to their beliefs, then the physician should meet that need. No single business should be forced by the government of the United States to produce a product that violates their religious beliefs.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

The answer is in the middle. I believe we absolutely need Medicare and Medicaid. These services care for the populations at the ends. When the affordable health care Act became law many individuals who had health care lost their coverage because companies dropped their benefits and pushed the responsibility on the workers. That should never have been allowed. Far too many people that must get their health insurance through the market have egregious deductibles in the thousands.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I believe that schools and public tax supported entities should require vaccinations. I believe that there can be exceptions, but the burden should be on the individual to monitor their child or their health and take responsible action.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

I am deeply concerned that tax dollars are being awarded to the Gotion battery factory in Manteno, IL which has direct ties to the Chinese communist party. The factory sits on our natural water sources.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

The United States has always been an ally and strong supporter of Israel and I believe that relationship should never change. Individuals of Jewish heritage should never be afraid in this country.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. Whenever you travel outside of the country you must present your passport and go through several layers of security. If you work in another country, you must show that you have your own health insurance and will not be a burden on the country. The borders of this country are our first line of defense. If anyone can just stroll into the country, then what safety guarantee do we have?

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

Education is the responsibility of the state. Currently in Illinois public education is funded by property tax. . I do believe that that families need choice and that a portion of dollars allocated to education should be at their discretion. I believe the state has to look at making the money for every child in Illinois more equitable. I believe that schools should not be funded by property tax but rather through income tax or a general commitment to funding every Illinois student equally.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

None of these ideologies have any place in the curriculum in the schools. We have children who cannot tell time on an analogue clock, they cannot make change, and struggle to read. The ‘scope and sequence’ is published on the school website. If a school wants to deviate from what a school was intended to teach to produce critical thinkers and responsible citizens, then they need to involve parents.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Absolutely. A teacher cannot give your high-school child an aspirin; hence, the same should hold true for any other advice or services.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Agree

I disagree. Europe has discontinued these services during adolescents. I believe these services are the sole responsibility of the individual when they are of age to make that decision and fund their choice. We do not let adolescents drive, smoke, drink, vote, buy pornography. I do not support or even understand why we would let an adolescent make an independent decision to mutilate their body.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Agree

I believe that “marriage” is the sacred, religious, legal union of one man and one woman

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a bible believing Christian. I believe in the one triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God. I believe that in the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. I believe in an actual heaven and hell. I believe in salvation though faith in Jesus’s death on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

This is our current practice and we use their signature for identity. Yet to do anything else I am required to show a photo id. I would support showing a photo ID. Then you have the dilemma of the mail in ballot, which I believe should be completely done before the regular election.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

Then the major cities would forever control the elections. Large cities tend to share ideologies which do not always represent the entire country.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. I believe the news media has made racism a tool to divide people and start controversy.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Great institutions have brought us hospitals, universities, museums and the like. All societies grow and change, mostly for the better.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

Title 9 was a great victory for women to have sports competitions among other women athletes.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

D. Climate change is real and we can do more. I traveled to Europe and I am embarrassed in the most simple practices that we as a nation could be doing to protect our environment. Europeans don't use air conditioning everywhere all day long, they have minimal plastic, they have excellent public transportation, they use/consume less and are not a disposable society. We can make everyday changes that would begin the process of overall change.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear is becoming the most reliable and cleanest. There has been advances with the disposal of the waste. I do not think there is only 1 source. I believe there should be a balance of energy sources, wind mills, solar farms, etc

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I am a minimalist. I believe government should provide the large resources, National Defense, streets, sanitation, water, education, natural resources and parks, etc., The structure for individuals to safely define their lives lives and exercise their religious freedom. I believe in smaller government, not so many layers which we currently have

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

The police department is one of your community programs and provides the "fences" that allow us to feel safe in our neighborhoods. The sense of safety going into downtown Chicago has diminished, and going into crows is even less secure because of all the criticism of our police men and woman who every day put their lives on the line for their residents. Every family of an officer has no guarantee that their loved one will return home. I believe we need more funding for our police departments.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

We need a national registry

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Not in the Chicago area or collar communities, We are a state with vast differences. In southern Illinois there may be one police person for 300 miles, and if there is an incident it could be hours before help arrives. We have former military people working in schools in our rural areas that work in schools and have offered to be part of a volunteer defense if the need ever arose. I believe we need to respect that offer and listen to the people in our far south counties.
