Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
As a biologist, a physician, and a Christian, I believe that life begins at conception and that in every instance we should do whatever it takes to save both the life of mother and child. There are at least two people in every pregnancy whose lives should be treated with dignity and compassion.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Fertility treatments have resulted in the creation of so many families after the difficult experience of infertility. As someone who advocates for growing families I also support IVF, but also believe we need to be careful not to kill life that was created or practice discriminatory eugenics. I’d like to see the my colleagues who do this work refine the process so life is only being created, not destroyed.
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

As one with a firm and growing biblical understanding and worldview, I have come to believe we must stand with Israel. The births of our nation and theirs are intertwined in the Judeo-Christian story. I believe the promise that those who befriend Israel will prosper and the enemies of Israel will fail. but, it is not because of the promise of prosperity, but, because it is the right thing to do. Stand with the nation of Israel.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare is a disastrous mess and excessively influenced by the immoral pursuit of profit. Patients are taken advantage of by healthcare tycoons, manufacturers, and insurance companies, who prey on patients. The system seems to work for everyone but the patient. Government "advantage plans", where insurers are rewarded often to deny care, are suspect. Everyday in my practice I see patients denied coverage for necessary services because of corporate greed and bureaucratic errors.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

There is no context to this question but it does hint at one important issue: the increasing burden of chronic disease, which is worse in the US, and worse in our southeast US, than the rest of the world.

What is your position on the minimum wage?
While in a moral capitalist economy the market should determine wages instead of requiring a minimum wage, because of corporate greed, which exploits working Americans, we must provide robust worker protections including a minimum wage.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Impartial audits of all government programs and agencies must be conducted to find waste and fraud. All government agencies and programs must operate in full transparency, and without the corruption from those with conflicts of interest. "Revolving doors" between government regulators and the industries they regulate must be closed. State and local officials must be held accountable for the waste and punished for the fraud they create.
