What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

The parents/guardians are responsible for instructing their children in all aspects of their personal lives. The schools should be responsible for instruction in academic subjects. No service or organization that counters the rights of parents/guardians should be permitted at the schools.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

The less government funding, the better. When an institution receives federal dollars, there are always strings attached to the money. This is usually not in the best interest of the taxpayers, students, etc.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Teachers should be required to refer to students by pronouns which are misaligned with their gender at birth even if it would violate the teacher's moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Teachers should call upon students by their names first and last names only. There should be no use of pronouns when responding to a student.

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

Absolutely not. Our tax dollars should not be funding Planned Parenthood or any organization that chooses to end a human life.

Consistent discipline creates a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

The only way to create a safe and orderly environment is to establish rules, protocols, and appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior. Discipline must be applied consistently and fairly, along with consistent follow-through for inappropriate student actions. Varied levels of consequences should be applied based on the nature of student behavior, frequency, and safety of the rest of the classroom. Students need structure. Without appropriate discipline, student learning will not occur.

Do you believe print and digital material available or presented to students should be easily accessible for public review, including those without children enrolled in school?

Yes

All print and digital material available or presented to students should easily be accessible not only to parents, but to tax payers as well. As taxpayers, all curriculum, instructional, and library holdings should easily be accessible to the public for review. The school district must be accountable and transparent. Easy accessibility for review is necessary and should be an expectation.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

Yes. Educators need to give students a thorough education in America's founding documents, while cultivating American patriotism and love of country. These topics should be mandatory in all schools. As an American, you must understand the foundation of the country and essential founding documents, such as the Constitution and Bill of Rights in order to know who you are as an American, your rights, and to understand your responsibilities to others and our country.

I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Strongly Disagree

Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a mechanism progressives are using to change the workforce and educational system at all levels. People are being put in positions based on race, instead of hiring the most qualified individual. It's intent is reverse discrimination. Equity lowers the standard of performance. Equity means the unequal treatment of individuals, by lowering standards of all. Inclusion actually is used to exclude others. DEI is divisive and causes harm to all.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

The less government control the better. Personally, I'd like the Department of Education removed at the state levels as well. Local control of the schools would serve the needs of the students and community best.

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Constitutionally, parents have the freedom to choose their child's school. It is the funding factor that can add a twist. The dollars at the state level should follow the student for public, private, or homeschool. However, if parents choose a private school or homeschool there must not be any strings tied to dollars allotted, and the public school should not receive additional funding. Accountability is needed in the public schools and loss of funding may help prioritize what is most important.

Which should students have: equity of outcomes or equality of opportunities?

Students should have equality of opportunities. Equality of opportunities provides students with the means of striving to do their best and performing at the highest level they can. This same opportunity is available to all students. Equity lowers the bar for standard of performance by not providing all students with opportunities to do their best to achieve their personal desired outcomes. Equity short changes all students in the long run.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born-again Christian. I believe all Scripture in the Bible is God-breathed and true. I look at our world through a Biblical perspective. I trust in God alone. My morals and values are based on God's commandments and Scripture. I believe you can only gain eternal life with God through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. There is no other way.

Who is responsible for teaching sexual education to children, and what is the appropriate age when it should be taught?

The parents/guardians of the child are responsible for teaching sexual education to the child. The appropriate age for when it should be taught is when the parents/guardians believe their child is developmentally ready to receive that instruction.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I DO NOT support the teaching of Sex Ed.

Children have a right to reach maturity without chemical or surgical castration, which would damage their healthy bodies through surgeries and may cause infertility and a life-long dependence on cross-sex hormones.

Strongly Agree

It is a shame that school personnel, public health officials, psychologists and psychiatrists would allow for this type of action to be performed. There are horror stories related to many children who have been abused under these circumstances. Once an individual is an adult, he or she has the right to proceed to do this to his/her body, but not before. The damage done, both physically and psychologically can damage a child/adolescent/teenager or adult for the remainder of his/her life.

Children have the right to be protected from hypersexualization (including drag shows and explicit materials) in schools and libraries.

Strongly Agree

This is an absolute right of the children. Absolutely no school, school library, or school district has a right to attempt to "normalize" children through hypersexualization or any other pornographic, explicit, content. Children and their innocence is to be protected at all times. This should not be a part of educating our children. It is unconscionable.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society.

Strongly Agree

Amen! God has ordained the sacred and legal union of one man and one woman as essential to the formation and sustaining of a civil and prosperous society. Any other definition defies God's plan for His Kingdom and destroys the family structure established by God; creating destruction, civil unrest, and chaos.

Parents have the fundamental right to raise their child in accordance with their beliefs and values, including the right to make decisions about the child's education and healthcare.

Strongly Agree

Parents have all these fundamental rights, constitutionally. Unfortunately, many school systems attempt to circumvent the rights of parents to accomplish a different agenda. This should cause parents to rise up and demand their God-given rights. Parents should oppose any desire on the part of the school district to do otherwise.

Parents should have full and timely access to any and all records, including school and medical records, associated with their minor children.

Strongly Agree

This should be a "given" in all school districts. The school does not own the children.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

A photo identification with appropriate verification is required. Without it, a person should NOT be allowed to vote. Election fraud is prevalent throughout the country. As a U.S. citizen, you have the right to ensure that your vote counts as you recorded it. All U.S. citizens have some form of photo identification. There is no excuse for not having a photo ID.

EQUALITY

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports.

Strongly Agree

I am deeply saddened that this topic even needs to be discussed. God made humans in His image. He made them male and female. There are no other genders. Public middle school, high school, and college students who desire to be athletes cannot choose to identify themselves except by their God-given biological sex. Public school institutions and athletic organizations (like the NCAA) that allow otherwise, set themselves up for abominable consequences and outcomes.

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Strongly Agree

If teachers have had appropriate training verified through a particular gun safety and accuracy program or comparable program, and they are willing to assume the responsibility that comes with owning and operating a gun (in challenging situations) they should be allowed to carry in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

In the event of a pandemic, school districts can mandate whatever health precautions they deem necessary (including masks and vaccines) to protect students and staff.

Strongly Disagree

In the event of a pandemic, schools should not be allowed to mandate any healthy precautions they deem necessary. As Americans, We The People, have the freedom of choice. Any mandate as described above violates the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights.
