QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Was Dobbs v. Jackson rightly decided according to the text of the Constitution? Please explain.

The Dobbs case was decided correctly from a purely legal basis. However, the effect of that decision was to strip medical privacy and access from nearly half the population. Roe v. Wade was a forced, rushed job to push through a manufactured case to achieve a policy goal. Personal medical procedures should be be allowed to be made by the individual and their doctor without interference from the government. Having the states' decide their policies appears to be the best approach for the time being, until a proper case involving these factual issues arises from among the several states and is properly brought before the Supreme Court.

I support a right to accelerate ending a human life.

Neutral

Individual bodily autonomy is a core human right. However, ending a human life is not something to be taken lightly, whether in the justice system or as a medical procedure. Any allowance for accelerate ending a human life should be accompanied with extensive therapeutic applications, medicinal and interactive. Ultimately, the individual and their medical professional should make such a decision without the interference of government.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States.

Disagree

Religious liberty is for everyone, provided that it does not impose itself on others in a restrictive fashion. For example, if we are to have religious oriented materials in a public facility, e.g. the 10 Commandments, then we must allow any faith to similarly display their selected text. The freedom to express oneself in speech and religion is inherently American, but it must not be suppressive of another's expression thereof, or forcibly subject someone to something they do not believe.

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Non-religious. Be kind to others, improve yourself and your behavior daily.

What is your view of parental rights regarding the upbringing of children, specifically education and sexual "identity"?

Parental rights are absolute in the upbringing of their children. They should have unrestricted ability to choose their children's school type, educational approach, and curricula. I was homeschooled my entire grade school life, and, while I learned alot later college and the "real world", I was well prepared to ascertain for myself a a young well-educated adult

I support "gender identity" as a specially protected class. Please explain.

Disagree

Constitutionally protected classes have been established through extensive litigation and argumentation, and they are intended to protect objectively demonstrative personal qualities - race, religion, gender, etc. The subjective and fluctuating nature of gender identity disqualifies it from being considered a "protected" class.

What do you believe to be true about the human condition?

We are each capable of amazing good, and terrible evil. It is imperative that we who seek good feed that part of ourselves, and encourage others to do the same for themselves.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT).

Strongly Disagree

CRT is a destructive, divisive, and fraudulent concept that encourages victim mentality and stunts proactive social change.

ABOUT YOU

What, if any, church or organizations do you belong to?

none

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2014 Democratic Primary 2014 General Election 2016 Democratic Primary 2016 General Election 2022 General Election

I moved out of Texas for work in 2016, and was disturbed by how caustic the political discussion had become, so I took a break until I returned to Texas in 2021, where I joined the Libertarian Party. As such, I ran for Texas State Representative - District 49 in 2022, and to do so under Texas law, I had to not participate in any primaries. Similarly, for 2024, I did not vote in any primaries, but will be participating in the General Election.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Would you describe your judicial philosophy as originalist, living constitutionalist, or something else? Please explain.

My judicial philosophy is underpinned by the Libertarian Platform as stated by the Libertarian Party of Texas. As to practical approach, my philosophy builds from the Constitution and adheres to strong precedent as authoritative. However, I also include some amount of concern for the real world effect of any legal decisions on the citizens of Texas, and would utilize that to guide my thought process through any actual "grey" areas.
