QUESTIONNAIRE*

*Additional information was received after the evaluation was assigned and was not considered in the Panel Evaluations, therefore it is for additional educational purposes only.
RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a self-defense measure if the mother's life is threatened.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I support repealing all taxes that are not voluntary transactions (such as sales taxes), and until that can be done I'd support moving to a flat tax or "fair tax" as a compromise improvement on what we have now. Property taxes and estate taxes should also be repealed, as double and triple taxation is unconstitutional.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All government spending should be reduced, and laws and regulations which create the "need" for such spending repealed.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Get the government out of education and let people spend their money how they choose.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

No one should ever be required to provide a service.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Zero circumstances. Freedom of religion is guaranteed in the First amendment of the Constitution.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D - People should be free to make their own health care decisions and purchases and medical providers free to offer their services at their choice of cost or no cost.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Government - never Private employers can set their own requirements and people can choose to work or not work for that employer based on this.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

The number one thing would be to remove US troops from places around the world which stoke the fires of retaliatory terrorism, and stop interfering in the governments and societies of other nations. This will allow those who legitimately instigate threats against the United States to be rooted out and prosecuted.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose all economic "sanctions" and support individual people choosing who to do business with.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Disagree

There has already been billions of dollars wasted on a political promise of an unnecessary and ineffective wall. It does nothing to address the actual problems of immigration.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who would work here and support themselves and their families, not to receive government handouts or commit crimes.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose any "specially protected classes" as all individuals should be treated equally under the law.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

There are undoubtedly people in power who have used their power to enact racist policies, but the institutions are only a reflection of the individuals who control their policies. At any time, those in power can choose to apply it equally as they should.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I focus fundamentally on the two Commandments Jesus called the greatest. Love God, Love my neighbor. I do my best to follow these every day and take every opportunity I can to show love to my fellow human beings.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would repeal any and all laws which restrict ballot access for candidates of all parties. Qualification for office should not be based on being able to pay an unreasonable fee or a costly petitions process. Let the people decide from all those qualified based on the age and residency requirements.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes. Any time people are not treated equally under the law it is threat to liberty, and thus security by extension.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The only "reparations" possible are applying the law equally to everyone, regardless of race.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

I support the freedom for private entities to use whatever methods they choose on their own land.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The sole purpose of government is to protect the inherent natural rights of the individual.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

I am Liberal in the true classical sense of the word, supporting free speech, free markets, free movement for all. NOT supporting the authoritarianism that has been falsely marketed as "liberal" for decades, especially by the Democrat party.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

The media doesn't tend to spend much time interviewing Libertarians, but I have appeared on the Bonfire Briefing Podcast and anyone viewing my Twitter feed will find my consistent support for natural rights and Classical Liberal principles.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I want to REDUCE the size and power of government, and restore the freedoms of the citizens of Texas. ALL of the citizens, not just the ones with powerful lobbyist friends. That’s why I’m running for State Representative in District 14.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

In general, I would favor private community programs whenever possible but I prefer the state government staying out of it and letting the local communities decide how their funds are best spent.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Minors and repeated violent criminals.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Neutral

In a literal sense, anyone should be able to sue anyone for any reason, but firearms dealers and manufacturers should only be held responsible for their direct actions, not those of their customers.
