QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

What role should the school serve in helping a student with an unwanted or crisis pregnancy?

Per State Law if a school employee is asked for guidance/assistance from someone under 18, the child must be referred back to the parents/guardians for guidance.

ECONOMY

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?

I support the dual enrollment for free education and certifications for high school students who want to obtain necessary technical and trade certifications that our workforce so desperately needs. I support utilizing the state CAPES list to determine this free dual enrollment allotment.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

With regard to public schools, what does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means the government must remain neutral toward religion, neither establishing, supporting, nor coercing any religious belief, while fully protecting each individual’s right to practice their own faith—or none at all.

IMMIGRATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enhances the safety and security of communities by identifying and detaining illegal aliens.

Strongly Agree

EDUCATION

Abortion and gender-affirming providers, including Planned Parenthood, should be a resource for instruction or services in the school.

Strongly Disagree

All health care decisions need to be referred back to the parents in regards to minors under the care of the school district as is required by state law.

Consequences for bad behavior create a safe and orderly environment, which is essential for student learning.

Strongly Agree

Parents and guardians of children should take more responsibility for the actions and discipline of minors. There has been a cultural shift in sense of entitlement. Another thing that makes it challenging to discipline children in the school system is the IDEA Act. Children on IEP, 504 plans, etc. under this act I required to be disciplined differently by law. This act needs to be reformed as it was written in 1975 and does not accommodate today's behaviors and culture.

Educators should give students a thorough education in America's founding documents and cultivate American patriotism.

Strongly Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

States and communities no best how to educate their own students, with parental input, as each community has different needs. Many of the departments within the US department of education have been reallocated to other agencies.

If you support the teaching of Sex Ed, please answer the following question: Sexual education should include these topics (list all that apply and add your own, if needed) -- abortion methods and side effects; abstinence; consent; contraceptive methods; human anatomy/the reproductive system; physical and emotional health outcomes; sex acts and pleasures of sex; sexual orientation and gender identity; stages of pregnancy and fetal development

I support human anatomy and the reproductive system, stages of pregnancy and fetal development in an age-appropriate biology curriculum. It is not the responsibility of the school district to educate children on sexual education of any kind. That is the responsibility of the parent/guardians.

Please list in order the following priorities in relation to the role of a K-12 public school (omitting any that do not apply): American History, Art & Music, Civics, Critical Race Theory, Foreign Language, Gender Identity, Information Technology, Language Arts, Mathematics, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Political Activism, Science, Sexuality, Social Emotional Learning, Vocational Learning

Mathematics, Reading, Writing, American History, Civics, Art & Music, Science, Personal Finances, Physical Fitness, Vocational Learning, ROTC, Foreign Language, Information Technology.

Public schools should prioritize academic achievement and building character necessary to preserve American traditions and self-government.

Strongly Agree

School choice creates competition, and that competition will push public schools to improve their educational systems.

Agree

I do not support the large amount of taxpayer funding being prioritized for vouchers over public schools. Property tax dollars should follow a family’s educational choice, but current funding levels for private education are excessive. This creates an unfair, unbalanced system for those who rely solely on public schools, while private, home school, micro school, etc. education remain a luxury for many.

VALUES

Biological males should be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a God-fearing Christian woman.

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I support the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Neutral

As a non-partisan elected official, and as this question has no bearing on School Board Related decisions, I remain neutral on this stance. It is not my place to judge those who fall outside of this definition.

Mental health conditions such as anorexia and gender dysphoria need to be treated, not affirmed.

Strongly Agree

It is up to parents to determine what treatment is necessary, not the public school system.

School library books that have literary value, as determined by experts, should be exempt from obscenity laws.

Strongly Disagree

Regarding the public school system and it's libraries, books should be evaluated in conjunction with laws as they pertain to minors.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.

Agree

As a school district we must follow the laws under the state's Safe Schools requirements as it pertains to who may carry a firearm on campus. I believe the individuals like trained law enforcement officers and school guardians are completely qualified to do so under the Safe Schools rules. Should the legislature determine that any employee with that same training be allowed to carry a firearm for the same purpose I would support that.
