Minnesota does balance its budget (versus the federal government). But the state spends far too much and does not spend it well; and has a large unfunded public pension liability (which is off the books) and too high a tax burden.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that there is no pandemic exception to the Constitution. The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." And the Minnesota Constitution (Sect. 16) is also clear: "The right of every man to worship God according to the dictates of his own conscience shall never be infringed;...nor shall any control of or interference with the rights of conscience be permitted, or any preference be given by law to any religious establishment or mode of worship...." The Executive Council in Minnesota, which includes the Secretary of State Steve Simon, voted repeatedly to shut down our churches and small businesses, to shut down our employers, while allowing big box stores and other so-called "essential businesses" to remain open. This draconian approach, which imposed profound harm on citizens both emotionally and financially, was found to be unconstitutional. If elected, I will faithfully protect the Constitutional freedoms of Minnesotans, which includes the freedom of worship and the freedom to make a living.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. Voter identification increases voter turnout among all voters, including minority communities that the left claims are "suppressed" by having to show ID at the polls. It gives voters, no matter their background, more confidence that only eligible voters are casting ballots at the polls.
