QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Neutral

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion care should be available to a woman after she has consulted with her health care provider. But specifically in the cases of rape, incest, or harm to the woman.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Neutral

Nothing is as easy a decision as "yes" or "no". Yes, some areas of the budget can be cut, but there are also areas that are usually quick to end up on the chopping block that needs to be considered before just slashing them.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

At the very least I think that changes should be made to lessen the tax burden on the working class. Immediate changes can be seen by eliminating income tax on overtime hours, as well as no tax on bonuses < 10k. At the same time, I really think that the entire tax code of the nation needs to be overhauled - rewritten - to account for the many changes in economics since it was originally created. I support a system that does not penalize citizens for making too little, or too much, money. In a perfect world, I am leaning more in favor of a Negative Income Tax, structured in a way that most current federal assistance programs could be discontinued (other than Medicare/Medicaid) and provide a zero net gain/loss for all. A Negative Income Tax has two fundamental principles: a wage stipend and a marginal tax rate for earned income that effectively reduces the stipend until it no longer exists. The wage stipend serves to set an income floor, or a baseline of welfare, while the marginal tax rate is adjusted to incentivize income boosting work

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Disagree

The freedom of religion is already guaranteed within the Constitution and does not need any other protections.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Businesses should always be allowed to reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

None

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

The only scenario where a government should mandate vaccination is when: - The subject in question is a highly contagious and deadly disease that is threatening million - The vaccine in question is indisputably proven effective to protect those inoculated from the disease I think that in the scenario of an employer it may be more of a case-by-case basis. What is the status of the vaccination? Is it considered to be medically safe and sound? Also, who decides is it is medically safe? What is the intention - i.e.: if someone is being employed to work in areas where the employee would come in contact with potentially infectious materials, then it makes sense. is required for employment with a private company, then that is something between the potential employee and employer, and I do not see a need for regulation from the government to approve or restrict. The argument may come to who decides if something is medically safe and sound, which is why

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

At this point, noting that I am still researching different options to understand the full costs/benefits of different proposals, I feel that Medicare/Medicaid and potentially VA medical benefits should be rolled into one tax-payer funded healthcare system that is available to those unable to afford insurance on their own or through their employer. This new system should be the only tax-payer funded medical health service

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

My views currently reside between B and C.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Did not answer

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We should stop using phrases like "Islamic terrorism". There is just terrorism. By continuing to persecute Muslims we are only increasing the very feelings that led to people becoming radicalized.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

The world is not in a state where we can reliably ensure the safety of our citizens with totally open borders. As such we need to protect all borders, but we should not be demonizing people that want to immigrate to the country, nor should we make the process of immigrating over laborious

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who has not been convicted of a violent crime should be provided the opportunity to immigrate to the U.S. An exception to this is for those fleeing an oppressive regime where they have been declared to be an "enemy of the state"

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Neutral

Critical Race Theory is an optional law course offered at a college level. It is a theory. I also believe that some institutions operate on policies that have been in place for years which tend to lean toward discrimination

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

I think that identification showing that you are a citizen of the united states should be required to register to vote. I also support mail-in voting, using proven signature verification techniques, and manual "curing" processing in the event that a valid id is not able to be made when tallying a ballot

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

More transparency around transportation and processing of ballots, as well as clear steps to ensure the security and integrity of ballots through each stage.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Did not answer

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Disagree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I tend to lean towards environmental laws being worth the cost. It is not worth the long term cost to our homes for the very short term benefits to the economy

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Did not answer

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Neutral

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

I think that funding for mental health and community outreach programs should be carried out in cooperation with police departments

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support background checks to ensure that firearms are not sold to those convicted of violent crimes, or that have active restraining orders against them.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

We don't allow victims of automobile accidents (or deliberate harm) to sue the dealers and manufacturers of cars, this should be seen the same way.
