OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

No circumstances require killing innocent babies. However, we must follow current law in place as was decided by the US Supreme Court.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

As a provider myself, we take an oath to support our patients and the public in general. We have modern medicine to fully support a person who is in pain while they die a natural death.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

We need tax breaks for our elderly homeowners, especially those on a limited fixed income.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Across the board cuts by a percentage amount to bring us in balance (5%, 10%, etc)

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

There are plenty of funds available already for college education. The community colleges need to assist students in this area during the registration process and in the latent high school semesters.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Neutral

This was decided by the US Supreme Court. Private sector may choose to offer services or sell their items to specific clientele.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None! Separation of church and state!

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C however, I do not support Medicaid expansion at this time.I have followed the testimonies regarding Medicaid expansion and am NOT in favor. While in Illinois in 2007, I consulted with my representative during his decisions. There is much available evidence to support the fact that expansion estimates were resoundingly low and many other states had trouble budgeting, post expansion, as previously planned. Also, the majority of new medical claims for the expanded population will be for mental health and substance use treatment. Wyoming currently hosts minimal providers who treat substance use disorders and claim psychiatry/mental health as their primary service. We do not have the staff to support this influx nor the funds. I also am not confident in the information the Department of Health has offered over the last many years; their documents show wide variations and they do not seem able to support their current waiver program providers. (ref: https://thefga.org)

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Article 1 Section 38 of the Wyoming Constitution already states residents are allowed to make their own healthcare decisions. It is unfortunate most healthcare facilities are requiring vaccines as a condition of employment. If an organization chooses to provide a service or open business in Wyoming, they agree to follow our Constitution and its terms.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

N/A

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Choose not to answer

N/A

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The laws in place during the Trump administration were sufficient.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

This was already decided by the US Supreme Court in the 2020 decision Bostock v. Clayton County Georgia at https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/19pdf/17-1618_hfci.pdf

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Neutral

Also already decided by the US Supreme Court: On June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court held in a 5–4 decision that the Fourteenth Amendment requires all states to grant same-sex marriages and recognize same-sex marriages granted in other states. The Court overruled its prior decision in Baker v. Nelson, which the Sixth Circuit had invoked as precedent.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

I am not aware of any institution that is fundamentally racist. However I am aware that "All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, as defined in this section, without discrimination on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin." - Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. §2000a

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a practicing Catholic and attended Catholic schools while growing up.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We need to confirm identity and citizenship prior to voting.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Voter ID law and remove option for mail in ballots except for registered military serving overseas.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

n/a

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Choose not to answer

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

n/a

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree
