QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Wyoming has passed a trigger law that will make abortion illegal except in cases of rape, incest or as necessary for the life of the mother. I do not believe that there are circumstances where abortion should be allowed.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
The U.S. Supreme Court has decided this is an issue left up to the states.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government's responsibility is to protect our individual rights and freedoms as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, as well as those freedom of religion and conscience provisions set forth in most State Constitutions. The government's responsibility is to protect our rights; not curtail or restrict them to further a secular agenda. An individual's right to freely and openly exercise their religion is critical to our future.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
Option three: "The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger."
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel values freedom, education, free speech, and democratic governance and is our strongest ally in the Middle East. It is vitally important that we continue to support their fight against Islamic terrorists.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Our military and federal government as a whole has become obsessed with "woke" issues. I have submitted many amendments (and some passed) to repeal DEI policies that are destroying and undermining our national security.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am generally opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach to anything. Under no circumstance should there be a mandate for a vaccine, drug, or medical procedure that has been approved only under an emergency use authorization ("EUA").
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
I am more closely aligned with the third option. It has long been said that a government that is big enough to give you everything that you need is powerful enough to take away everything that you have. That adage clearly applies in the health-care context. That is simply not the role of government, and those types of actions show that the more power we give the government over such things like healthcare the less free we will have.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
I would eliminate entire federal agencies (including the federal Department of Education), ensure that all agencies are working within their authorized legal framework, and drastically reduce the federal workforce.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I have visited our southern border three times and the destruction and devastation is heartbreaking-local municipalities and hospitals are on the verge of bankruptcy trying to provide health care and basic services due to the constant barrage of illegals crossing the border everyday. This is no longer a border crisis, this is a humanitarian crisis- which was wholly avoidable and caused by President Biden rescinding Trump's remain in Mexico policy and violating U.S. law to pursue open borders.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
People wishing to immigrate into the United States should enter legally. We should focus on those individuals who provide a net benefit to our country in terms of education, qualifications, and willingness to assimilate.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
Children should be given every opportunity to succeed and that means different things for different children. We should not limit the options for a family or a child based upon their zip code or income.
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
I co-sponsored Rep. Massie (KY-04) bill H.R. 899 to terminate the Department of Education. I come from a family of educators, we know how to educate our children. We do not need federal bureaucrats who seek to pursue a radical agenda, and who have never so much as visited our state, to dictate how we educate our children.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Keeping guns out of the hands of violent convicted felons. Otherwise, no restrictions on the rights of law abiding citizens.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Defend our natural rights and constitutional liberties and ensure the rule of law and equal protection.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No.
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Choose not to answer
Unfortunately, this question is moot as the United States Supreme Court has already weighed in and ruled contrary to my opinion.
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have a strong belief in our Almighty God, who created us in His image. I believe that many of the challenges and problems we are facing in this country stems from the fact that we have removed religion and faith from the public square, and as the guidepost for the decisions made. Our Constitution was written for a just, moral and Christian people. We need to return to what that means.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I co-sponsored H.R. 1229, the Stop CRT Act, which codified Executive Order 13950 and prohibits federal funds from going to any entity that teaches or advances CRT.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
I voted in favor of H.R. 734 – the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. Boys are boys and girls are girls. I will continue doing all I can to stop the erasure of women in sports and society as a whole.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
We must reject the premise of climate change. America produces the cleanest, most affordable, and most reliable coal, oil, and natural gas. We should not be further empowering dictators and despots by outsourcing our energy production and national security.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Coal and oil and gas are the energy of the future.
