QUESTIONNAIRE*

*Additional information was received after the evaluation was assigned and was not considered in the Panel Evaluations, therefore it is for additional educational purposes only.
RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None. Life is sacred.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

No public funds should be used for these providers or planned parenthood for abortions.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

I do not agree with euthanasia

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

I do not support any increase in taxes to Nevada residents and have signed the no tax increase pledge. I do support a change to the way we treat out of State 2nd home buyers and I believe their tax rate should be higher, which is in line with how other states tax these assets. I also believe that a person should not lose their home due to an increase in the tax assessments that they cannot afford once they are on a fixed income. Fixed-income seniors should be exempt from paying taxes on their homes. I would ensure that initiatives that bring in revenue and are earmarked for specific programs be used for that purpose and that non-earmarked money is not just reallocated and taken away from those same programs

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would make sure that we prioritize the funding of education and first responders. These are programs that ensure safety, security and education, which the government should be obligated to fund. Special interest and pet projects should only funded after the basic tenants of government are fund and only if there are funds available for those projects.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

College is not a public necessity and should never be funded by public funds. How is it even conceivable that a person with no college degree would be funding the education of an individual who chooses to go to college?

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

The government should never be able to tell churches to close their doors. Individual churchgoers should make the decision on their own to attend or not, and the churches themselves should make the decision to remain open or not based on factual data.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The government should never be able to tell churches to close their doors. Individual churchgoers should make the decision on their own to attend or not, and the churches themselves should make the decision to remain open or not based on factual data.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

I believe answer C best represents my position on healthcare. The free market should dictate healthcare and insurance. Opening up insurance plans to cross State lines would also open up more competition and drive down costs. Hospitals and Care providers should be providing a menu of costs just like they do for any place of business from car maintenance shops to grocery stores. Healthcare costs have skyrockets and no one understands what they are getting charged for until after they leave the hospital and receive a bill they can’t afford to pay. No other business is allowed to operate in this way.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. Individuals should be allowed to decide whether they should be vaccinated.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

As a Combat Veteran and Commander who spent most of my adult life deploying to fight the War on Terrorism, I’ve learned a few things. We need to fight this war abroad and not at home, domestic terrorism must be identified through human and cyber intelligence. We must fund our military and provide the proper resources based on the threat that we face at the time. The radical terrorists need to be held accountable and the community or state in which they come needs to be held accountable for allowing this behavior to materialize. We must identify, prevent, deter and get in the way of those who try to do us harm.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I am a supporter of the sovereign State of Israel and its ability to defend itself by all means possible. Would it be amazing if there was a solution that allowed all parties to live in peace and harmony? Absolutely. Unfortunately, this has been tried and failed. The BDS movement is a Palestinian-led movement that seeks to boycott and create economic sanctions on Israel. The BDS movement seeks to do economic harm to Israel that combat and protests could not.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

There is no doubt that we need to secure the southern border. I fully support legal immigration but until we can stop the flow of illegal immigrants at our southern we will never get a handle on the enormity of the crime and human trafficking that is taking place. We can’t even start a discussion on how to start solving the problem until the border is secure because every day more and more enter our county illegally and the incentives for entering illegally far outweigh the risks.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As with current legal immigration norms, people seeking immigration should be able to prove that they can provide for themselves and have the skills needed to succeed. They should not instantly become a burden on our country that pull resources from other much-needed national programs.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

School choice is extremely important. Parents should be involved in their child’s education and have a say in what is taught. All the choices mentioned are viable solutions that parents need to assess and decide on for the best interest of their child. The government should be left out of such decisions other than ensuring that multiple options are available.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Values and Morals should be taught at home and through whatever religion a person believes. Some of these basic values should be reinforced in our schools. Politeness, sharing, compassion, forgiveness, are but a few. The basic value of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you is a basic moral principle that seems to be lacking today. If people would practice these basic principles there wouldn’t be as much anger and hatred.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws. There are only two physical genders (male and female) with some rare exceptions. There are physical differences that hormones and surgery cannot overcome.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

Totally agree. Obergefell was a mistake.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

I am in agreement that there was racism in the earlier years of our nation. Over time we have evolved and have made huge strides. I do not believe that racism is inherent in our institutions as a whole.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My spiritual beliefs and values are to live within the morals and values taught to me by my parents and church. To serve to the best of my ability. I believe in compassion, fairness and to work hard for what you earn. I believe that everyone has unlimited potential and their biggest hurdle is themselves.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

People should have to verify who they are. The concept that a photo ID suppresses the vote is insulting to the community that this philosophy is claiming to represent. ID’s are required for almost every aspect of life, from buying alcohol to getting on an airplane to opening a bank account or getting a social security check. Requiring an ID to vote is not at all unreasonable.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would require ID verification to vote. I would propose ending computerized voting until it can be proven that the data is secure and not able to be manipulated. There must be confidence in our voting process and if that means going back to paper ballots until we find a secure alternative then I believe we need to do this to restore confidence.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a huge problem and it doesn’t help when one party consistently calls everything racist that they don’t agree with. This only serves to weaken the racist conversation.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

I do not believe in or support reparations. There is no one alive today that served as a slave and there is no one alive that functioned as a slave owner. How far back do we go to determine who was a descendant of a slave or indentured servant. Unfortunately, there were many races and cultures that were subjected to slavery or servitude throughout the US and the World. Fortunately, this practice does not exist today in this country and we should be glad we have irradicated the practice.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Answer A is closest to my belief. We do need sound environmental laws that protect us. In fact, our air is much cleaner that it was just a few decades ago. But we also can’t create laws and regulations that hinder progress and innovation and give other countries an advantage. Currently, there are so many regulations and restrictions to building a refinery that it’s not even feasible to open a new refinery and we now have a shortage of refineries. So the major oil companies drill and refine in other countries that have fewer regulations and restrictions. This is counterintuitive to the purpose of the stricter regulations and causes us to produce less safely and cleanly in the United States.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

I do support fracking and pipeline expansion in order to provide energy independence for our country.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The basic purpose of government is to provide safety, security, education, and provide public services and assistance that are not economically feasible for private businesses to provide.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I am a fiscal conservative that believes in a balanced budget that provides safety, security, and public services. I believe that this country is the last refuge of basic human freedoms and the proof of that is in how many people want to come here at any cost and sacrifice. We can’t jeopardize these freedoms that set us apart from the rest of the world.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I have been consistent in my viewpoints my entire life. As a first-time candidate, there isn’t a public record or an interview I can provide.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

I have never been accused or convicted of any crime or wrongdoing.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

One of my main priorities is to fix the disastrous education system we have here in the State of Nevada. We must work together to fix this and one possibility to consider would be to break up the enormous school district in Clark County. Also, as an owner of two small businesses we need to solve the problems of how the supply chain shortage, labor wages, and inflation are having an impact on businesses throughout the State. We must also always fully fund our First Responders and Educators. The defund police movement has been a disaster and has only served to increase our crime rates and put us all at risk.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

Police officers should never have to second guess their instincts to protect themselves and the citizens they are sworn to protect from harm. Qualified immunity is a must. Officers must make life or death decisions in less than a second. That extra second of hesitation can cost them their lives.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

We should not be redirecting funds from police for any social program, there are other areas where this money can come from. The homeless problem in Las Vegas needs to be addressed but not at the expense of police, fire, or education. I would support legislation that would put these budgets off-limits.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There should be absolutely no restrictions on law-abiding citizens that have proven themselves to be responsible gun owners. There is not a single restriction that you can create that will stop criminals from finding a way to acquire whatever was restricted. Criminals don’t care about the law or any restrictions placed on law-abiding citizens, in fact, they’d be the first to be in favor of such legislation because it would make their criminal behavior more lucrative.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

When we start to recognize that it’s not the weapon that is committing the crime but rather the human holding it, we’ll finally get to a place of solving the gun violence. But as long as we are willing to blame the inanimate object the criminal is holding instead of the criminal himself there is no solution. People must be held accountable for their actions and not be allowed to blame others or things for their cognitive decisions.
