OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe that life begins at conception and that abortion should be avoided at all costs.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Arkansas should continue to work towards lowering the state income tax, eventually eliminating it. I would also like to see a reduction in the used car sales tax, eliminating that tax for vehicles purchased at the $10,000 price and under.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

As a first time candidate, I'm not familiar with every area of the budget, but I believe that there are savings to be made. My aim would be to increase efficiency in different departments, whether that be through HR, procurement or other such practices. Every state agency should be able to find 5% savings just by looking at efficiencies and comparisons with other states.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

The idea of free college is flawed, instead of students paying for their education, the cost is passed on to the tax payer. This doesn't change the cost of college or lower the cost to educate each student. Pursuing free college would only put more burden on our budgets and would have the opposite effect, creating shortages, lowering quality of education. Govt. should be less involved in higher education financing. This would allow private sector competition driving interest rates & cost down.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I do not believe that the government has the right to close churches.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I support common sense exemptions concerning specific health conditions and religious/ philosophical beliefs. I am opposed to Joe Biden's vaccine/testing mandates for private businesses with 100 or more employees.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Eradicating islamic terrorism is a constantly moving target that can't be resolved quickly and will require a longer term strategy. One of the first things that is essential, is identifying who the targets and organizations are that would be most valuable to remove in order to eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism. Continuing our efforts to eliminate leaders in groups like ISIS and others will be essential. Fighting the global terror threat will involve working with several member states, the U.N. and other organizations dedicated to eliminating terror threats around the world. We will also need to continue to provide counter-terrorism assistance to our global partners as well as cutting off the revenue streams for terrorist groups and imposing stronger sanctions to those who would aid and abet terrorist organizations.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

America is a nation of immigrants but we are also a nation of laws. First and foremost we must secure our southern border. We must stop the lawlessness at the border that politicians from both parties have allowed to happen. We welcome immigrants who want to come to America by following the rules and respecting our laws and who want to assimilate to the values and traditions of American culture.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the option to choose the best education available for their kids. Parents know what is best for their family, not the government. The quality of a child's education shouldn't be based on a parent's income or zip code. The vast majority of students aways have been and always will be educated by the public school systems, that doesn't mean parents should be forced into that box. Competition is good, more education options will raise the quality of education across our state.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

A great illustration from WallBuilders displays the importance of faith early in the U.S. Government, on December 4, 1800, Congress approved the use of the Capitol building as a church building. The approval of the Capitol for church was given by both the House and the Senate. Significantly, the Capitol building had been used as a church even for years before it was occupied. Presidents Jefferson through Lincoln, attended church at the Capitol; and it was common practice for Members of Congress.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

The sanctity of marriage, which was originally ordained by God between one man and one woman, is supposed to endure through sickness and health, for better or for worse, until death separates a couple.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical race theory has no place in our school systems whatsoever. I would like to see the legislature pass comprehensive critical race theory bans.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am an ordained Assemblies of God Minister and I hold to our 16 fundamental truths (found at ag.org), which are - 1. The Scriptures Inspired, 2. The One True God, 3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, 4. The Fall of Man, 5. The Salvation of Man, 6. The Ordinances of the Church, 7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, 8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, 9. Sanctification, 10. The Church and Its Mission, 11. The Ministry, 12. Divine Healing, 13. The Blessed Hope, 14. The Millennial Reign of Christ, 15. The Final Judgment, 16. The New Heavens and the New Earth In short, I believe that salvation alone is found in Jesus Christ who died as our savior on the cross and was resurrected on the third day. I believe the Holy Bible to be God's inherent and infallible Word. I believe that salvation is available to all who call on the name of the Lord and repent of their sin. My beliefs teach me that life is precious and that God knows each of us before we are even formed in the womb, this is why life must be preserved at all costs and why I'm opposed to abortion. Marriage is a sacred union, designed by God to be between one man and one woman. Education is such an important issue to me, Proverbs 22:6 teaches us that we are to, "raise up a child in the ways they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it." I believe that the life of Christ put on full display the value of placing the needs of others ahead of our own. This is why I've done my best to live a life that serves my community, friends and family. I believe that my faith has led me to lead a life of service, which includes: serving in non-profits, volunteer disaster assistance, working in church ministry and other similar areas. I believe that serving in public office is the next step for me to serve above self.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I believe that the legislature did great work with HB1112 which became Act 249 when the Governor signed it.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

As a Christian and a Pastor, I believe that racism is sinful and abhorrent and should be opposed in all forms. Our leaders should focus on what unites us as Americans instead of what divides us by class or race.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

I believe that good government in Arkansas begins with the election of trustworthy and qualified Conservative Republicans. I believe that government provides citizens with the framework for everyday behavior, protects them from outside interference, and often promotes their well-being and happiness. I believe that we have been endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The government should defend these rights.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I stand for religious liberties and I want to see abortion end in Arkansas. I am a small businessman, I will defend small businesses and work towards lowering taxes for hard working Arkansans. I believe strongly in education, we need strong public schools and parents deserve to have a voice in the education of their kids. Critical Race Theory has no place in our education systems. Parents know their children best and will have the best read on what their child needs to succeed in school and what educational options will serve them best. Teachers and Superintendents play a vital role in our schools and the education of the students and I believe everybody should be and in most cases are, working towards what is best for the students. I can make 2 commitments to Arkansans, the first, I will be honest with you as I have been in all areas of my life. If I don't know the answer to a question, I will tell you so and then I will spend time working to find that answer. My second commitment is that I will be available, my phone number and email addresses will not change should I be elected. I will answer calls, respond to voicemails, emails and all other communications to the best of my ability. I believe that Arkansas needs leaders like myself that are focused on the next generation, not the next election.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support and agree with the Arkansas Republican Party Platform statement on the 2nd Amendment which reads, "Without the right to own and bear arms to serve as an individual’s hedge against government overreach and as a means for self-defense in our home, on our property, and of our person, none of our rights and freedoms can be guaranteed."

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
