QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I support the health of the mother and baby throughout the pregnancy and delivery. I support programs that help and educate women with unplanned pregnancies and funding of NC professional adoption programs. I believe the NC law is currently insufficient to properly support mothers and babies through all stages of development. Current NC Law for elective abortion circumstances beyond 12 weeks includes medical emergency, victims of rape or incest, or if the mother's life is threatened.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Life is precious and we must value life. When we value life, we value people, respect for others, and the ability to empathize and care for others; the unborn, infancy, toddler years, childhood, puberty, older adolescence, adulthood, middle age, seniors, and old age. I support hospice programs that help people pass away with dignity and grace, in a comfortable environment.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

We must teach our youth and young adults about the fundamentals of the free enterprise American system and the right to property. These are fundamentals that contribute to entrepreneurship opportunities, the ability for one to achieve their dreams, and the greatness of America. When we respect one's private property, we have less theft and more adherence to the rule of law. Let' s ensure that our school civics lessons include these American fundamentals.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

When the minimum wage is raised, many companies will reduce the number of jobs to cut costs, or the company will raise prices, passing additional costs to customers (inflation). The wages of low skilled jobs should be market driven.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. We have a right to gather in our USA churches, and there are no circumstances that allow government to close churches as stated in our US constitution First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Choose not to answer

Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?

Choose not to answer

Religious schools have statements of faith that are fundamental to the families they serve. They should be able to accept state funded opportunity scholarship funds for qualifying students.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Today, some vaccines are required, but not mandated, for children to enter schools for measles, mumps, rubella, & polio. All vaccinations must be fully tested. An employee's vaccine status should be private (HIPPA) and not required for employment.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Our local communities, towns, cities, and states, including NC, must take steps with our laws and policy decisions to protect our food, water, energy, farmlands, transportation, and other fundamental systems, from potential foreign or internal threats.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, Israel is the foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith and values. We must protect this sacred nation and its people.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

Parents are taxpayers and they have a right to choose their child's education, whether public, private, or homeschool, and have their tax dollars follow their child.

VALUES

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.

Strongly Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and believe that the bible is God's word. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness". I strive to be a servant leader, and honor God, family, and country with the skills and talents I have to better the lives of our families, businesses, and communities in NC.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.

Strongly Agree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism divides the people of our nation. When a nation sees each other through race, instead of mankind, neighbors, or friends, the fundamentals of our American society to "love thy neighbor" break down against one another, with an "us versus them" mindset. This is dangerous to our nation because it breaks the very core fundamentals to love they neighbor, help one another, and that all men are created equal. A divided nation is a weak nation and leaves them vulnerable to foreign attack.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

The Title IX protections for Women make it illegal to discriminate against women to include: sexual harassment, failing to provide equal athletic opportunity, Sex-based discrimination in a school’s science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) courses and programs, & discrimination based on pregnancy. Women have a right to compete fairly in women only sports, and have privacy in bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prisons.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The US Constitution states in Article I, section 8 "We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” We must lead with fiscal responsibility and rule of law, securing our country, for the people.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

no

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

no

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I am running for NC House 62 to preserve our values, protect our citizens, and provide opportunities for a brighter future for NC families, businesses, and communities. As an educator, businesswoman, wife, mother, and grandparent, I will bring many life and career experiences to serve the people. I take pride in having a strong work ethic, success in working in teams, and ability to create smart solutions that solve problems in our economy, education, public safety, healthcare, and housing.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Crime is at an all-time high in our Triad area. We are understaffed with law enforcement, and some of the laws of our state are not being followed. We must support our police with recruiting, pay, funding, equipping, training, and retention of excellent law enforcement. We must also have police working alongside their community members as SRO's in schools and role models for the youth.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

We as USA citizens have the 2nd amendment right to bear arms. I am in support of this right to protect my family, self, home, and community. Public safety is an ongoing high priority for our NC legislature. Our homes, schools, businesses, churches, and community areas must be safe places for all to live, work, and raise families.
