Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Religious liberty must be upheld, particularly in the face of government overreach. Even in the case of a pandemic as was seen by case of Grace Community Church in Los Angeles, the extent to which government may dictate closures, must be very limited if at all.

(includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. It should be clearly and easily presented to the parent in a timely manner, before any material is taught to the child. Any changes to curriculum, resources, or presenters should be made known to parents in a timely manner. Parents should always have the right to opt out of classes, field trips, activities, etc.

There should always be an opportunity for Public Hearings at School Board meetings. Presenting a view that differs from the school board's is not reason to be restricted from speaking. Profane or racially offensive language, or violent/threatening behavior is not acceptable should not be tolerated.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a redeemed believer in the complete, and sufficient work of Christ on the cross at Calvary, I have a biblical worldview that begins, In the beginning God... I believe: God is creator, sustainer and giver of life; That the bible is the inerrant word of God, given for instruction and reproof for life; Life begins at conception, and ends at natural death; That we are image bears of God, one human race made in His image; God defined the family as one man, one woman, their children - biological or adopted. The reality that today many families do not meet this definition, does not negate or weaken God's definition nor does it give me reason to love the reality of the family as is any less. ; I believe in the dignity of the individual, with equal rights, justice and opportunity for all; That differing opinions are not a reason to "cancel" an individual, or remove their ability to support themselves or their family, but rather a genuine expression of diversity; I believe that personal responsibility and accountability is fundamental to preserving our families, schools, churches, communities, towns, cities, etc.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe our values, principles and belief systems are more of a determinant of our behavior than our skin color. As we embrace CRT, and change the meaning of words, such as racism, we create friction, tension and animus. We negate the work of MLK and civil right leaders that led the way in focusing our attention on the content of our character rather than the color of our skin. Security threats can, and do come from every skin color, ethnic group, belief structure. They come from within the groups themselves.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The general purpose of the government is to represent 'We the People", by providing critical services that individual citizens and private industry on their own cannot. The size and scope of government is deliberately narrow, to "establish law and maintain order, to provide security, protect from external threats and promote general welfare. Ensuring individual rights and liberties are maintained within the framework of protection, justice and security is the balancing act of the government. Fostering a climate for free enterprise, individual initiative, development of fresh, new ideas to promote economic growth, development and prosperity. Government should be fiscally responsible, so that citizens can keep more of their earnings, not placing generations into perpetual debt. It should promote an atmosphere where each person's dignity and freedom is secure.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

As a 15 year resident of Nash County, I am living the American dream. A native of the the beautiful island of Jamaica, I am a proud naturalized citizen of the greatest country on earth, the USA! The Bill of Rights sets us far above any other nation. The absolute necessity of the 2nd Amendment is being seen in real time in the Ukraine. Our current Administration is cheering on the Ukrainian people as they fight to secure their border, while our Southern border is unsecure. Instead of encouraging a return to our recent and much needed energy independence, this Administration is turning to our sworn enemies to provide for our needs. As we watch real militaries in action, we are training our military to be sensitive to transgender issues. As the wife of a retired Air Force officer, I wonder if the inscription on the gates of one of our first duty station still stands, "In times of peace, prepare for war". As a former competitive swimmer, I am aghast at who our female athletes now face as "female" competition. For these reasons, and more I cannot sit on sidelines while my beloved adopted home is attacked by progressive policies. Family, Life, Freedom! my platform. We need to keep our families strong. Our children need to learn what really matters in school -reading, writing and arithmetic. Skill development, apprenticeships, shop, technical classes need to be reinstituted in the curriculum, so that on leaving school our young people have genuine choices of what to do with their lives, whether to continue in academics, trade, the military. All ways to live the American dream! Parents need to be the ones bringing up their children, making the choices that are best for their families. Our freedoms need to be heralded, and secured. I am ready and willing to go to Raleigh to represent the families of Nash County. After all, its where we live, work and worship. May freedom ring.
