QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Choose not to answer
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Agree
I think this should be an option for people with terminal diseases who are in severe pain. However, the bar for obtaining assisted suicide should be very high, to prevent abuse.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Unrestricted during the first trimester. Thereafter, only in cases of rape, incest and medical emergencies.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Agree
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Families who have built successful businesses should not have to sell out to some conglomerate, simply because the tax consequences are too onerous to hand the family business down to the next generation. In California, tax incentives to encourage film and television production to stay in Hollywood should be reinstated. We have lost far too many shows to other states and Canada. It's time to incentivize our industry, so that we can retain our title as the Entertainment Capitol of the World.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
We each think that what we believe is the right way. The First Amendment protects us from the very human impulse to impose our own beliefs on everyone. This is particularly important for the protection of minority viewpoints. Immigrants of all religious backgrounds come to America knowing that they will be free to continue to practice the faith of their ancestors. This is true religious liberty. Taking care to keep state and church separate preserves religious liberty.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. When I am elected to Congress, I will pass an amendment to the Civil Rights Act making vaccine status a protected class, so that it cannot be used as the basis for segregation.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. Increased government involvement has led to ever rising premiums and sky-high deductibles. The result is essentially a middle class with little to no healthcare. We need programs for our most vulnerable people, but we need marketplace competition to ensure healthcare is available and affordable.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
BDS is a project of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a totalitarian movement, whose ultimate goal is to replace the United States Constitution with Sharia and to establish a global caliphate.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
To begin with, our security agencies must be able to name it. Under the current administration, those words have been eradicated from training and operations manuals. Additionally, we must put a stop to diversity-equity-inclusion operations, because their purpose is to enforce racial quotas and divisions. Let us follow the words of Dr. Martin Luther King and judge people by the quality of their character, not the color of their skin. The Muslim Brotherhood has been pushing the divisive racism narrative for 25 years as a way of eliminating our First Amendment freedoms of speech and the press. In Europe, "hate speech" laws have been employed as cover for a vast array of violent crimes, because the courts, military, government and the private sector are all terrified of being accused of racism. Narratives of victimhood are tools of radicalization. America must vigilantly protect our freedom of speech from soft-core terrorists who mission is to pave the way for their violent brethren. We must also practice managed immigration. Currently, Islamic terrorists are strolling across our southern border. The border wall must be completed, and everyone who wants to immigrate to the United States must submit to serious scrutiny.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
In addition to Islamic terrorists who have been strolling across our southern border, coyotes are trafficking children into forced labor and sex slavery at tragically unprecedented rates. Moreover, women and children who look to the drug cartels to bring them into this country are routinely subjected to sexual assault at the border, where rape trees, festooned with torn panties tell the tale of daily violence. Build the Wall.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
I will use the power of the purse to end human trafficking from our southern border. This term, "sanctuary city" is a misnomer, because when traffickers are given sanctuary, their victims are denied rescue, justice and healing.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
In August of 2021, the U.S. State Department provided a list of Afghans to the Taliban. The people on that list worked with the previous Afghan government and with the American military and NATO. The people on that list value freedom and democracy. The people on that list are being hunted by the Taliban, yet the U.S. State Department is denying them refugee status and preventing them from coming to the United States. Everyone on that list should be immediately granted the right to immigrate to America. These were our allies in Afghanistan. They have proven over and over again that they share our values. They are exactly the sort of immigrants who will be loyal Americans and productive members of their resettlement communities. That is where I would start. Highly skilled individuals and immigrants with the financial ability to sustain themselves should always be welcome. People whose lives are directly threatened in their homeland should be allowed to come, but this cannot be a blanket open-door policy for the total evacuation of nations, such as Guatamala and Honduras. There must be a balance between granting refuge and encouraging people to fight for freedom in their home countries.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Gender identity has been contorted into something that is resulting in the loss of women's sports and women's safety in a variety of contexts. I will use the power of the purse to prevent the intrusion of men into women's sports, women's and girls' locker rooms and prisons and other spaces which are being violated in the name of gender equity.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
I will use the power of the purse to end CRT, because it is racism, pure and simple.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am Jewish, and my peoples' beliefs and the wisdom of our 5,782 years of traditions are precious to me. I love celebrating the holidays and attending Shabbat services. These experiences help me to stay centered as a human being and provide me with opportunities to reflect on life and the choices that I make every day. My faith helps me to stay on a path of righteousness.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Voting by mail should only be allowed in cases where a ballot has been requested by the voter, such as the absentee ballot practices of the past. Registration cut-off must be at least 60 days prior to elections, to ensure that voter roles are accurate. Counties must regularly purge the names of people who are no longer alive or who have moved away. All elections should be conducted on paper ballots, with encoding to connect that ballot to a qualified voter. No more electronic voting. Motor voter laws are being exploited to encourage non-citizens to vote, and thus must be stopped. This is an injustice to those people, because when they apply for citizenship, their illegal vote is used against them.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Narratives of victimhood are tools of radicalization. It is not racism that is the threat, it is the accusation of racism that has been weaponized to weaken our country. It is being used to divide and conquer us. The racism narrative is being exploited to elevate people based on indelible qualities, rather than competencies and achievements. This makes us weaker in all areas of society, from war rooms to board rooms, from the Halls of Congress to the halls of our universities. We are One Nation. We must not allow narratives of victimhood to divide us!
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
The narrative condemning fractured drilling came from Russia, because it was making the US energy independent, and they didn't want to compete with us in the petroleum market. Fracking occurs more than a mile below the surface. It doesn't affect ground water, which is just a few hundred feet down. Natural gas is a clean energy source. When burned, it turns to water vapor and CO2. Everything produces methane, cows, people, dirt. Unburned, it becomes a greenhouse gas. Burning it runs our world.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A., because we already have volumes of regulations, many of them contradictory and confusing. We need to clear the chaff from our environmental regulations, so that industry can comply with the good laws and regulations that are already in place, and which are responsible for Los Angeles having air quality which is more than 80% better today than it was in 1980. It's time to stop capitulating to China's environmental bullying of the West. The China Clean Management Fund has devoted more than $6 billion in recent years to the promotion of the climate change narrative. This victim narrative has radicalized a generation into the false belief that we are destroying our planet. It's simply untrue. It is China, with its extremely dirty coal fired power plants that is polluting the air. But China owns over 95% of all the rare earth element mines in the world, and these minerals are used in solar and wind power batteries. This is why climate narratives always focus on these two forms of renewable energy, while ignoring clean, renewable and powerful nuclear energy. France runs on nuclear power, and California should also put coal in its past and return to nuclear power.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I have spent 21 years as an investigative journalist. I am degreed in International Policy Management, specializing in nonproliferation and terrorism. But it doesn’t take a master’s degree to see that our communities in LA County are in a world of hurt. Over a million of our neighbors have left to build lives in other states. I refuse to leave. I have chosen to stay and dedicate myself to serving our District, our cities, county and anyone who contacts my office. From Los Angeles to Washington, I will use my position in government to solve problems, to serve. It’s time to set aside labels and prejudices, and come together to solve our problems. I stand for Personal Choice both medical and educational, which is why I support the School Choice Initiative and will work in Congress to repeal the 1986 National Children's Vaccine Act, which shields pharmaceutical companies from liability for the damage inflicted by their products. I support Immigration Sanity, Domestic and International Security, Israel, the 1st Amendment and for the rights of our Veterans, whose land in West Los Angeles, known as the Soldiers Home, is being threatened by real estate predators. I will protect our veterans by evicting non-veterans operations and restoring them to the housing on THEIR land. I will also work to make the VA more responsive to their needs as a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. My family name, Toomim, is an ancient Hebrew word meaning integrity. This heritage is my guide star. It takes optimism to solve complex problems, and I am an eternal optimist. I am proud to serve with Operation Freedom Birds, providing humanitarian relief and evacuation to Afghans and Americans in Afghanistan (and now Ukrainians). In March we provided a three-month supply of food to a large family hiding from the Taliban. I embraced that family’s survival as my responsibility. We elect people to be public servants. I ask for your vote so that I may serve you.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Did not answer
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Neutral
Firearms manufacturers should be liable for their products if they malfunction.
