QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe all life is sacred and begins at conception, therefore, I do not support abortion. The rare exception for me would be if a mother's life was in imminent danger, and an abortion had to be done to save the life of the mother. However, I would hope that all efforts would be made to save the life of both.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Do you support the proposed Yes for Life amendment to the Kentucky Constitution, which makes clear that there is no state constitutional right to abortion?
Yes
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Life is sacred. Even in times of extreme suffering, aid for comfort should be given, but not suicide or euthanasia.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
I do not support government regulations that tell individuals/businesses to violate their consciences/religious beliefs. I believe in free markets and capitalism where the proprietor should be allowed to make business decisions for themselves without government interference.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. It violates our constitutional right of assembly.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
I don't believe the US can eradicate Islamic terrorism, as it is a holy war for extreme sects of Islam that has raged for centuries. We should tighten our borders, not allow entry of known Islamic terrorists, and root out cells/credible threats of it in the states as we would any threat of terrorism.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C- I believe that we must have a healthcare system in place for the poor/indigent (Medicaid) and that we should also care for our seniors (Medicare). I would like to see more affordable private options for health care and a more customized health care plan that one can opt from so one is not paying for services they would never want/need.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I believe in bodily autonomy/medical choice and am against mandatory vaccinations. One should be allowed to make an informed decision about whether to have a vaccine or not and not be forced to take one as a condition for employment, to attend school, or enter a business/building.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I'm in support of a consumption tax instead of income tax. A consumption tax that replaces an income tax would allow an individual to decide how much money to give to the government by their spending instead of penalizing those in the top 20% of earners that carry 78% of federal income tax, while 44% of Americans pay no federal income taxes. A consumption tax would incentive people to work and be a more equitable tax.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Eliminate the KDE and have education be at the local level. Reign in school spending, starting at the top at the administrative level. Have teachers participate in social security and phase out pension plans. Audit all agencies and curtail spending. Implement welfare reform. Decrease regulations on businesses.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
With no strong, secure borders, we have no nation. We are a nation of law, order, and rules. The hundreds of thousands of people pouring over our border present a national security risk, as well as a significant burden on the taxpayers for those here illegally to receive benefits for housing, education and welfare.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who enter legally or green card holders and are able to be self-sustaining, without reliance on the taxpayer. Special consideration/circumstances should apply to those who have served as allies to aid the US in war (such as vetted Afghanistanies who served alongside US military) and for true vetted asylum seekers and war refugees, not those just looking for economic opportunities or to exploit the generous welfare benefits of the United States.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child instead of the bureaucracy, through a program which allows parents the freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
Parents should be in complete control of where their child attends school as well as a say in the curricula. As a taxpayer, I want to allocate where my school tax dollars go, and allow me to choose whether to invest in private, public or homeschool options.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Disagree
Everyone should be held to the same standard of law.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
When someone calls 911 for a domestic dispute, a break-in, robbery, or other such crimes, I am confident that the police are better equipped, trained and have the legal authority to manage the situation much more than a social worker or community program. The police play a critical role in maintaining law, order and safety in the community that cannot be replaced by mental health and community programs.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe strongly in the right to bear arms with minimal restrictions. However, for public safety, convicted violent offenders or those who could not pass a background check should be restricted from ownership/possession of them.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
The gun dealers/manufactures have no control over other people's actions and should not be held accountable for selling or manufacturing a firearm.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Do you support the expansion of gambling in Kentucky?
Yes
I do not have a strong opinion on this as I hold a limited government view and am opposed to unnecessary government intervention/regulation.
The LGBTQ+ agenda’s advocacy for puberty blockers, biological males competing on girls’ sports teams, and allowing biological males into girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, and showers threatens the wellbeing of our children.
Strongly Agree
One may be in denial of the reality of their biological identity, but that doesn't change the science or biology. Males are at a significant biological advantage in sports, making it an uneven playing field for women and destroying women's sports. Confusing children/adolescents about their biological ID does significant damage to their mental and emotional health and well-being.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To follow our constitution, protect our citizens from enemies, both foreign and domestic, to protect our borders, maintain the rule of law, our military, to protect life (including the unborn), liberty and our way of life as well as our basic infrastructure.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
I have not been a public figure, but a private citizen. Therefore, there are no media interviews or reports on my stances.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am a Christian constitutional conservative that is dedicated to preserving the rights set forth in the constitution. I worked as a Speech- Language Pathologist for 20 years and am active in my community, volunteering for many local charities and events. I became motivated to go from private citizen to running for office because I am concerned about massive government overreach, wasting of our tax dollars, and the blatant disregard the government has for the constitution, our liberties, and freedoms. I never want to live under a government who determines who is essential and non-essential, that tells us how and when we can assemble, tells small businesses that they can't be open while big box ones are allowed to be, and that the government knows better than parents on how to educate their children. My legislative priorities for the district of my state include eliminating mandates ( any medical, mask, vaccine), true school choice where the dollar follows the child, having biological males prohibited from competing in girls/women's sports, fiscal responsibility that includes audits of spending, no new taxes, and defense of the 2nd amendment and the life of the unborn.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian values and are incorporated into our laws and constitution. Morality cannot be enforced by legislation. Morals and values should come from the home, not the government.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
This is an inherently false premise and should be banned from teaching in schools.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I hold true to the traditional Christian beliefs/values and my morals are driven from biblical principles. I respect that others may not share these beliefs and I do not try to impose my morality or values on others but live my life true to my convictions and the biblical principles that I profess.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I adhere to the Genesis definition of marriage, ordained by God, one man to one woman.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo identification is required for almost everything from buying alcohol to flying on a plane. Voting is a privilege of being an US citizen, and should be limited to only those who are eligible to vote and can prove so by government issued photo ID.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I would like to limit the number of days of early voting to no more than a week; you must request an absentee ballot and have signature/photo verification to cast a vote if you are not available/unable to vote in person on regular voting days. Return to paper ballots, and remove any cellular modem and any connectivity of the internet to the voting machines. Require government issued photo ID. Eliminate drop boxes, and ballot harvesting.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, in that movements like BLM and indoctrination of children with Critical Race Theory has significantly divided people, caused unrest, violent riots, mob rule and has torn at the very heart of the fabric of the makeup of the US. Making all issues racists, from climate, to roads, to hiring practices, has diluted the true meaning of the word racism and has set back many civil rights causes/accomplishments and legitimate concerns. To continue to teach untruths about history, promote racism, special classes of people and not acknowledge how far the country has come only creates tensions, strife, riots, and deep divisions.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A- government regulations and limitations have significantly caused many job losses, as we have seen recently in the gas/oil industry and end up hurting the consumer with exponential increases in fuel/heating, gas costs.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
I believe the US should return to being energy independent as we were during the Trump administration.
