QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
When the mother's life is in danger
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
What is your position on the minimum wage?
Market forces should determine wages, not the government artificially setting minimum wages
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Under no circumstances should the government be allowed to close churches as it violates our constitutional protected rights.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
It should always be the individual's choice to determine if they desire a vaccination or not. The government, schools or employers should not be able to make mandatory vaccines as a condition for employment or for entry into a facility.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Mostly B. Healthcare premiums have become so expensive, many are forced to purchase from the public exchange. I do not believe that Medicare/Medicaid should be expanded, nor government funded insurance. Reforms in healthcare and health insurance must be made to decrease the cost-shifting from those with private insurance to cover those that elect not to have insurance, are underinsured, or are not US citizens.
NATIONAL SECURITY
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes. Israel is our strongest democratic ally in the Mideast and has been since its creation as a Jewish state. As the US, a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values, it is important to stand strong with the State of Israel and defend against antisemitism. As a Christian, I believe that the Jews are a chosen people, and we have the responsibility to protect the Jews/Israel.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Under the current administration, they have failed to enforce any laws on immigration and have created obstacles to our southern border states to allow them to control their own borders. Consequently, we have an invasion of millions of people that are exploiting the taxpayer funded resources for services, schools, and healthcare, while increasing crime, child, sex and drug trafficking.
EDUCATION
I support a constitutional amendment that would allow Kentucky’s General Assembly to set up a school choice program to allow dollars to follow children to the school of their choice.
Strongly Agree
Parents are able to make the best educational choices for their children and should be allowed to do so.
VALUES
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Parental rights are a fundamental right, and parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from harm, including from gender ideology and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
We have laws to protect minors from many things, such as alcohol, tobacco, and tattoos. Allowing minors to make a permanent, life changing, irreversible decision is unconscionable. Minor children must be protected from this harm.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
It is not the responsibility of the government to provide elective surgeries.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As a Christ follower, I believe that Jesus was the sinless sacrifice sent to make atonement for my sin. I believe He was crucified on a cross, was buried and rose after three days. He ascended into heaven where He reigns and is sovereign over all. I uphold the God-given freedoms of worship and cherish the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, recognizing each person as made in the image of God. My morality is guided by biblical principles, urging me to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. I firmly believe in the freedoms and protections outlined in our constitution, safeguarding life, liberty, and property for all.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The only form of ID that should be accepted to vote is a government issued photo ID.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
Absolutely not. The Founding Father's understood the importance of the electoral college and the protections it preserves in the principle of federalism that are essential to retaining our constitutional republic. This allows more states to have an impact on the choice of President vs just a few highly populated states.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
Allowing biological males to participate in women's sports and women's spaces it an attack on women. It jeopardizes their safety and ability to compete in athletic events.
I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Strongly Disagree
DEI initiatives are ineffective, divisive, and costly. Such programs create classes of people into oppressors or the oppressed, exacerbating societal divisions. Furthermore, DEI theory shifts focus from individual character and merit, instead concentrating on racial and sexual orientation categories. This failed social theory should be removed from instruction from every classroom from kindergarten through post- secondary education.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Fossil fuels/ natural gas.
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
Both A and C
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The constitutional responsibilities of the government are to protect life, liberty and property. The scope of our government should be limited to national defense, managing currency and taxes, public services (roads/water, etc.) and foreign affairs.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Our police force is the most effective way to manage law and order. Community programs do not stop active shooters, restrain/stop criminals, rush to the scene of an accident, nor protect you when your life is in danger due to a perpetrator.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Restrictions should be upon convicted violent offenders, those convicted in domestic abuse, and illegal aliens.
Faculty who are licensed to carry and have had ongoing training should be allowed to carry guns at school in order to respond to an active shooter situation.
Strongly Agree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Do you support the expansion of gambling in Kentucky?
No
