QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
In a perfect world NEVER. I support policies that respect the dignity of ALL human life. From the Unborn to natural death, we MUST protect life. We must work towards the extreme reduction of Abortion (with set rules or exceptions in case of rape and incest) and work towards the elimination of Abortion.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Public funds should never go to organizations that fund procedures that people do not support. If these agencies were needing funding for other life care decisions and other programs I could see funds going there, but NOT for abortions.
If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?
I believe in more of the ruling made in Texas with the heartbeat law, I believe that gave the woman up to 8 weeks. Women should be able to take responsibility for their own bodies, understand when they could get pregnant when they have sex when they use protection. Unless this is rape or incest, this is about taking responsibility for your own actions. Understanding women's rights to their bodies can grant those liberties to the women, but at a certain point, we must recognize the individual liberties that should be granted in protecting that unborn.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
I do not think we should be euthanizing our older people, we are not pets. (I don't even like doing that)
Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?
Yes
I think if a woman is going to take an abortion pill they must get the care needed to do so and should NOT be taking these on their own. UNLESS this is the morning after pill, (intended to take after sex or the next morning), the abortion pill if taken at a later stage of development of a fetus can be a physical and emotionally painful experience and could actually damage a woman.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Neutral
If you are a privately owned business that operates on a standard where you choose your clients rather than just publicly off the street then I think you have the right to deny clients based on your religious beliefs. Even if this means a cake artist does not want to put the icing on my cake because I am gay. The issue is if you are a brick-and-mortar store that normally takes business from anyone off the street and does not normally pick and choose clients. That is a public store.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
I say NEVER, I cannot understand how in the world the government was allowed to close churches during this Covid Pandemic. We have the right to religious freedom and freedom of assembly. What happened was unlawful and unconstitutional. This should NEVER happen again.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Separate as much as possible. Politicians should also understand this as well. There is a LOT of religion wrapped up in politics. Ironic that most people see Republicans as the ones that use religion in their politics, when in fact Democrats utilize the pulpit much more when it comes to voter drives. Especially black democrats, you see church buses bussing people to the polls, and lots of democratic events going on in the church. I feel that the church can technically preach progressive, liberal, or conservative values but they should NEVER be pushing for a particular party over another.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
B. I have no issue with providing affordable healthcare, essentially every legal citizen of the united states should be provided this. Private insurance can provide you a bit more care, but our citizens should be able to get the life-saving care needed to lead productive lives.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I am not an anti-vaccination individual, most vaccinations that are required by our schools/government are tested and stable. You also have the choice of homeschooling your children or I assume providing religious exemption if you are against these. What I do take issue with is requiring people to take these in order to work, and live. We live in America and we should be able to choose what we put in our bodies and what not to. Just because for example I do not personally take the flu vaccine or the covid vaccine does not make my anti vaccinations. It is a personal choice and it should always be this way. There should be NO Mandates put in place that take away from the liberties granted to us in OUR Constitution. We have the right to decide what goes into our bodies, and the precautions we take. Thus, the forcing of masks and experimental vaccines upon us should be declared unconstitutional. We should be free to choose if we wear a mask in public or take medication.
ECONOMY
The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.
Neutral
Honestly let's take the wealthy out of the situation, I would support a way for the government to close the gap between the very poor and the working class. I believe in America First, and that means putting Americans First and all US Citizens of this 1st world nation should be able to have basic needs met, such as clothes, medical care, housing, energy, food. We should be able to provide these basics, but only to legal united states citizens. Quit blaming the wealthy for other social issues.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I would abolish the IRS in its current status, I would make a more flat tax, a fair tax, based on spending. You pay tax when you buy items. Our current tax method taxes you when you earn money when you spend that money that you already got taxed on, and then again and again on bigger items that you pay tax on when you initially buy (houses, cars, etc), and then taxes you again every year. The government doesn't want us to be a burden on it, yet it does everything in its power to punish us for making an income. Too many taxes are taken from us, funny how our revolution against the British came from over-taxed citizens, and here we are under a heavily taxed government.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Agree
Yes, College is essential to the marketplace, as well as Trade schools, we start people off in life behind and in debt due to the high costs of attending college. Higher education should be provided for all at a low to little cost, of course, some people with more means could attend premium schools if they wish.
EDUCATION
States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.
Strongly Agree
Every child deserves a sound education, and that’s only possible when families are able to choose the school environment that’s right for them. I support homeschooling, charter schools, and private schools as an alternative to public schooling, parents should be allowed to know what is going on in their children’s schools,
In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?
NEVER, a Parent should ALWAYS know what is being taught to their children. I would ask for more involvement with parents and teachers, lesson plans should be given in advance to parents, and I would like to see cameras in the classrooms so both teach
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
NEVER, a parent should ALWAYS be given to speak at school board meetings even if the board doesn't like to hear what is being said.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
We must ensure that our officers of the law are respected. With that, they also should recognize that their duty as police officers is also to protect the safety of, WE THE PEOPLE. Many issues lately have made it hard for many to respect our police, and many have called to defund our police departments. I would say to this what a great man said: “without laws, we have no country.” The Police are necessary to enforce these laws, but they must also be held to the standard that protects our rights
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
I believe those programs need funding too, but we should be funding the police not defunding them. You cannot fix issues within the police force by defunding it
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We Must Understand that when it says “Shall Not be Infringed” that means we have the right to protect ourselves from ourselves and from outside influence that would corrupt our way of life. We much also bring back proper education to our citizens on gun safety and use as our founders had believed we would always know. They never envisioned people NOT having firearms for hunting, protection, and safety, this is why this Amendment is extremely important to protect.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
Its NOT the guns that did the violence its the person who committed the crime. So unless its a gun defect then there should be no reason to sue
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?
Yes
Our Country was founded and gave rights to WE THE PEOPLE, not just some of the people. We have to ensure that our government and our people treat each other with equality and we are ALL given the ability to have Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness No Matter Our Race, Creed, Religion, Sexuality, Gender, or Sex. ALL LIVES MATTER. But, changing your sex to compete in sports is cheating. Why not instead change the leagues by weight class / strength then if you are going to want this.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To work for the people, to help keep society running and to provide organized services for its citizens, as well as to help create laws (with representation) to settle conflicts and to keep order.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
I am a Constitutional Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Boykin
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
NO
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Almost all my issues are located on my website, https://boykin4nc.com/issues/ I am a Patriot, not a Politician, I believe in protecting our Consitution and I also believe I work for We the People, not the government. I also believe in getting loud to make my voice be heard.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I thank God that the birth of our nation came from our faith in Christianity and GOD. With that, I believe that the Government should NOT infringe on our rights to worship GOD or infringe on the right to not worship a GOD. Our Country was founded on the Freedom of Religion and the Freedom from Religion just ask the Pilgrims. Our government is NOT a theocracy though so in America we have multiple religions, as long as we all can coexist and work together to create a positive society for all, all
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Neutral
As a gay man, who is also a biologically male who identifies as a biological male, I believe my gender identity should be protected. There is a lot of discussions that still need to be made around the subject. Due to the fact that gender identity is more of a mental state, many have used this as a means to confuse people, and when someone says they are fluid it is impossible to predict what "gender" they chose for the day. There has to be some sort of stability in society and interactions.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT does NOT belong in our school system. Proper History should be taught, which includes full history of slavery and how American is where we are today, but teaching people that our government was based on slavery and is racist is wrong.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised as a Roman Catholic, I do not attend church on a regular basis but I believe in Christ. I also believe America that allows for the freedom of religion. Any religion that does not impose its beliefs on others that can cause harm to our granted liberties and freedom and our government system is fine with me. I believe in an afterlife, I don't necessarily believe in a traditional hell (I interpret "hell" as being cast away from the light just not the fire and brimstone) I feel that people should follow more the actual teachings of Christ, that man Christians fail at as they condemn others (ie gays, etc) because they don't match their personal moral code.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
WE SHOULD HAVE ID TO VOTE PERIOD
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
National Voter ID law, I would also make it where the social security office would issue photo IDs to alleviate this issue. You and I both know that our elections were stolen in 2020. Massive voter fraud was committed, invalid ballots were harvested, and drop boxes were left unsecured. I would put towards a Presidential Nationalized Voting system where the National Guard and Citizen Observers would protect the chain of custody for the vote of President. There should be separate ballots, and voting booths for the Presidential vote, and one where you have to scan in your ID to ensure that it is in fact you voting. A set of voting/election rules should also be standard across all states on the method of voting, and the period of time you can vote for President. As well as an automatic audit of all the states to ensure that invalid votes and duplicate votes were not counted. We should NEVER have any doubt in our voting system or who our President actually is.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
How can there be racism when so many Black people (NOT ALL) are extreme bullies towards white people? When blacks yell out that white people are racist, yet themselves are just as racist towards white people as they claim white people are to blacks, is it really racism, or is it just shared hatred or worse yet disrespect for one another just because of skin color or conditioning by the left to keep us always from peace with each other?! Racism and hate for one another have been something that has also been going on for a VERY long time, but it is NOT exclusive to White against Black. Of Course, our history involves awful times white people treated blacks horribly and this has tainted our history of this great nation. BUT, this does NOT give the excuse today for Blacks or any other color to bully or be "racist" towards whites. In our past history of this nation, we had slaves, before our country existed there were slaves, Jews were slaves to Romans, true history would indicate that slavery is NOT exclusive to Black people. Also, History would indicate that Blacks enslaved each other, which is how most of the Europeans obtained their slaves from tribes in Africa. Even today there is slavery, child trafficking, and sex trafficking still goes on today in modern-day slavery. Slavery is just an awful practice done by humans to one another, and it needs to end. We now live in a time where Whites and Blacks and other people of color have been given the same opportunities and privileges. We have worked so hard to have equality in our nation, why can we not finally reach this goal? The LEFT would use Identity politics to continue to divide our nation, putting Blacks against whites, teaching Critical Race Theory to our youth, and just causing more hatred from young black students against white students, which just ends up causing white students who finally get tired of being bullied to sadly end up so-called "Racist," and join other whites in their shared experience which just ends just causing the future separation of people by color. How does this end up this way? For example when you are white and you are called "Privileged" for being white, yet you see more opportunities open up for those of color, and you deal with a constant bombardment of anti-white rhetoric from media, white liberals, the left, and people of color, when does that line cross? When will people understand this is just a practice of conditioning used by the left to actually create more "racism" (basically the left LOVES to create a problem so they can be the "hero" to solve the problem they created in the first place.) We have heard the term "reverse racism" but what does that mean?! If there is racism it is not exclusive to White on Black, Black on White, Black on Asian, White on Asian, etc, etc is ALL Racism. There is NO such thing as natural racism, only conditioning. There is however the double standard, Black History, for example, is an EXCELLENT subject to take pride in, accomplishments of people of color despite the past are something to be celebrated. To remember that we live in a society where we can rise above our past is great. In these same lines is why Gay History is also celebrated, that in America we can rise above our past. Yet as we rise above those pasts, why can we not also as white people rise above our past aggressions, why does White History have to always be about slavery or negative aspects? Our society has this double standard everyday day, for example, historically black colleges (I went to NCCU in Durham for a few semesters), then there are signs that say "Proud Black-Owned Businesses", and when you hear people that talk about "Black Exceptionalism", yet whites are NOT allowed to do ANY of these examples, nor to be Proud of who they are or their past, (NOT ALL OF IT IS ABOUT SLAVERY), for if white people did this they are labeled a racist, and a white supremacist. To make matters worse while certain offensive words can cause one's livelihood and career to END by the use of words (look up Papa Johns) yet those same words are used in music, and media openly by the race that claims they are so offensive? Why have these words been eliminated completely? People of color and the left are ALWAYS quick to tell whites to be humble, and if we do take pride in our own heritage we are labeled a "White Supremacist" yet people of color have free range to be proud of who they are and their heritage. Is that not racism still? I am here to tell you NO RACE IS SUPERIOR. End of the day, we have been conditioned to HATE each other, what do you think CRT is about? Racism is a learned trait used by the left to control the narrative, to always keep a base of people upset at another base of people. This will ALWAYS be the case until we recognize this and enough people step up and say ENOUGH is ENOUGH! Full article on it https://gorightnews.com/racism-does-not-exist/
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
B Yet, I think there are ways to both impose these laws and regulations but also not to hurt the economy or jobs, we have to work on making America and the world energy independent. We have to find ways to reduce our use of oil, take advantage of solar power, wind, hydro, etc without doing it overnight. Thus transitioning us from one industry to another into the future without a major impact.
