QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Rape, incest, or for the protection of the mother's life

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

I feel that market place and industries will determine what the appropriate minimum wage should be.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

State investment policy should reflect requirements by investment managers to invest in a manner that provides for greatest pecuniary return on investment dollars. Non-pecuniary considerations for investment strategy need to be approved by the state before being implemented by any investment manager.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Religious liberty/religious freedom must be protected to allow all citizens the right to worship according to the dictates of their conscience. My take on this this question is whether or not government can or should restrict people from worshiping as congregations, and I would like to say never, but I do believe regardless of our religious belief, we cannot meet as a religious congregation with the intent of violating someone else's rights.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

I strongly support an individual or private business's right to not provide a service or request for service if it violates a religious belief. This gets difficult to enforce when an individual elects to work in the public/government sector where these conflicting services are allow by law and the person is expected to fill the requirement to provide these services as a governmental agency. Public agencies should try to accommodate personal beliefs, but that may not always be possible.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

(C) most closely aligns with my view. However that is not the world we live in since the adoption by Congress of the Affordable Care Act which was upheld by the US Supreme Court. As a result of the two Supreme Court decisions we have a population in the state that can't afford health insurance, are not allowed to get insurance through the federal exchange, and don't qualify for Medicaid. Because of their circumstances there are not options, and because of this I support Medicaid Expansion.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I believe personally that vaccinations have improved the lives of mankind, but I respect those that don't feel some or any vaccinations should be required. This decision needs to be left for local school boards to make.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

I agree, which is why I have supported the investment in our rare earth minerals, supported the restriction on property ownership, and feel strongly that our attempts to secure and protect Wyoming's interest need to be well vetted. We need to ensure we accomplish the goal to protect against inappropriate Chinese influence without negatively impacting the state's ability to interact with other foreign governments.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes, I believe it is. They are our strongest ally in the Middle East and their security protects our security.

IMMIGRATION

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I believe in immigration, but it has to be within existing immigration guidelines governed by law. I think our current process has flaws and warrants changes, but until that happens we need to comply with existing law. allowing for non compliance or illegal immigration dilutes the pressure on Congress to make the appropriate changes, and punishes those who are try to comply with our legal requirements.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Disagree

This statement as it stands alone sounds great, but our historic system, supreme courts cases and our state's constitution impacts need to be brought into this conversation. Nothing currently in state statutes or in the constitution interferes with a parents right to homeschool, or choose a private school. Our constitution prohibits the appropriations of state funds directly to private entities, such as private, or private religious schools.

VALUES

Children have the right to be protected from sexually explicit materials in publicly funded libraries, including school libraries.

Agree

This statement suggest a child has a right that to my knowledge is not adopted in statute nor is it in the constitution, however I believe society has a responsibility have age appropriate materials in public and school libraries, but determining what is age appropriate is a loose term and is determined by local jurisdictions. The bigger responsibility to ensure young people are not in possession of inappropriate books falls on the parents or guardian.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from harm, including from gender ideology and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

I believe this statement is taking liberty when is suggests children are the "most vulnerable members of society". We have a lot of vulnerable populations i.e. infants, people with developmental/intellectual disabilities, vulnerable adults affected with dementia, to say one is more vulnerable than the other is just an opinion. All those who are vulnerable should be protected from harm in whatever form that might be.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

I am a big supporter of parental rights and believe a parent has the right to know what challenges, and behaviors their child in involved in, but there are always exceptions, and in this case if a parent is making decisions for a child that is detrimental to the child's health, safety, and protection, the child has the right to expect intervention to give them protection.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Disagree

I am not sure what all services this question is referring to, but I am opposed to funding gender transition surgeries for those under the age of 18. But I do not oppose counseling services to those to are identifying as a sex different than they are at birth. I think gender transitioning is a personal elective, and as such shouldn't be funded with state general funds.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Disagree

Religions have the have the right to determine what constitutes marriage as it relates to their beliefs and I don't believe government has the right to require them to alter their beliefs to conform to a governmental expectation. Government does have the right to determine the requirements of a civil union taking place outside a religious jurisdiction to insure the compliance with local law and to protect the rights of the parties that would typically apply.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God the Eternal Father, in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I also claim the privilege of of worshipping God according to dictates of my own conscience and feel all men are allowed the same privilege to worship how, where, or what they may.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism, as long as it exists is a threat to the well being of society. We need to be vigilant in our efforts to protect the rights of all citizens. We as a society are also guilty of mistakenly finding a way to assume the worst of comments and actions thinking they have racist motives when no racial offense is intended. We are too thin skinned.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

None of these reflect my view. I believe the adoption of environmental laws and regulation must be done based on accurate data that has been reviewed, verified and accepted by states and industry. States and industry are able to adjust to the impacts of new laws and regulations that have been gone through this type of process.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

1. Nuclear, 2. Coal, 3. Natural Gas,

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

1. Provide for the protection of the citizens i.e. defense/police 2. Provide a justice system to redress the grievance of our citizens. 3. Provide a safety net for those who are not able to take care of themselves. 4. Protect the rights granted by our constitutions

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Please express your views on the 2nd Amendment.

I have always supported 2nd amendment rights and believe one of the keys required to protect this right is accountability in the event the right is abused.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
