QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
No exceptions.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Duplicative services, excess personnel and state agencies, welfare programs which could be provided by churches or families.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
In the letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danberry Baptist’s, it appears clear to me that the reference to church and state was not intended to mean there should be no practice of, or reference to, religion by elected officials or government entities. It was, I believe, to ensure that there would be no officially sanctioned state or national religion. It is, in my opinion, extremely important to elect individuals who are believers and followers of Jesus Christ and who are not afraid to stand on biblical principles when making decisions regarding state affairs.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I support a free market economy. This freedom includes the ability for employers to offer insurance to employees and, or, individuals to seek an insurance plan that adequately covers their needs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Only immigrants, who have been fully vetted, from allies of the United States should be allowed to assimilate within our borders.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
At age 11, I realize my need for a savior. Since that time, I’ve been a follower of Jesus Christ. As an extension of my faith, I teach an elementary Sunday school class at my local church. With my wife, Denise, and I married, we decided that she would be a stay-at-home mom. When we had children, we determined to educate them at home and have done so for the last 27 years.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My voting record, and the legislation I filed, in the Missouri House of Representatives reflects my position as an ultra conservative.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
My formal education includes a bachelor of science degree in education and some postgraduate work in the area business. I worked for a local hospital for 27 years as a mid-level manager and I have operated a small cow/calf producing operation for more than 20 years. In addition, I’ve held the office of a state representative for the past eight years.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Since joining the legislature inch 2013, I have been rated in the top five most conservative Missouri state legislators. For the past three years, I’ve been selected as the most conservative constitutionally voting member of the Missouri House of Representatives. I have proposed numerous bills which would stop abortion in Missouri. In addition, I have proposed legislation which would illuminate the corporate tax and eliminate any unnecessary regulation.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No restrictions.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
iVoterGuide Notes:
In May 2020, Rep. Mike Moon was among 12 republicans and 9 democrats who voted against a marijuana reform bill designed to reign in medical marijuana in the state.
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
And all out ban on abortion, the elimination of unnecessary regulation on individuals and businesses, and lower taxes. I have proposed bills on these topics for several years in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Unfortunately, yes. I personally believe that scripture would support there’s only one race (as in a single bloodline from Adam and Eve). However, the notion of multiple races and the feuding and dissension that results from our sin nature perpetuates constant struggles between different people groups. Current events demonstrate that racism is a problem which poses a serious threat to personal safety and national security.
