RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe under circumstances where rape or insist are involved it could be allowed.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Agree
I am concerned when agenda's and ideologies are the focus verses providing information, including emotional, spiritual and physical support. Recognizing peer pressure, fear, acceptance, self-worth, value, forgiveness, tenacity, integrity, consequences, support groups, abstinence, contraceptives, and adoption as being viable. We as a society are bombarded with opinions and other views that we tend to lose our identity and look for the easiest way out.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Tax law is complicated. When considering good policy around taxes it should reflect an ability to stimulate economic activity without punishing investments made in our economy. I believe some of the biggest mistakes are made when punishing those that are creating economic security in their own life. Case in point, incremental improvements in your personal income can result in significant tax increases which may discourage people from working a few extra hours or other jobs. We also see this in some of our social programs. When they work and start making more money their benefits drop off and it discourages them from working more or trying to improve their financial situation. Also, we have seen some people writing tax law that have a vague understanding of business and farm expense and don’t understand what it takes to run an operation, employ people all while they are driving the economy. We have many bureaucrats in DC that don’t even recognize that agriculture supports 29% of the workforce nationally. But they are determined to not allow legitimate expenses that provides product, services and employment. Paying taxes can certainly be annoying and painful, we have taxes layered throughout the system; Federal gas tax, tobacco and alcohol tax, ammunition tax, waterfowl tax, social Security, Medicare, etc. If you flip on a light switch or use services and/or products you are paying a tax in that purchase because it goes back to the retailer, wholesaler, processor or manufacturer who is required to pay a tax. All things need to be considered in our economy and make sure that the consumer as well as the producers/manufacturer is not being punished or discouraged from providing goods or services. Tax revenue collected needs to target certain responsibilities that the federal government is required to perform on behalf of its citizens. Defense and national security are the primary responsibility of our government. Over the last 150 years we have recognized that food security, energy security and economic security significant to maintaining our independence. Hence the creation of Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Environment Protection Agency, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, Etc. I believe the problem May be associated with political agendas with the creation of many more layers of rules and regulations that are being driven from agendas. Not withstanding good intentions, but sometimes we’ve forgotten the overall purpose of the agencies and their primary responsibilities. I don’t believe we can be all things to everyone. I believe governments role should be to empower and not enable the people.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Did not answer
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
We have an educational system that pushes the masses towards college, I’m not sure everyone should be encouraged go. Trade schools have much to offer and many of our children have never been exposed to other careers that may have twice the salary and 20% of the tuition cost. In fact there are employers that will cover your tuition if you work for them when you finish your certification or graduate from the program. Invest in yourself, we should not rob youth of their rewards and accomplishments.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
We have a constitutional right to assemble. Our forefathers experienced the oppression they previously lived under and took measures they felt necessary to establish it in our constitution along with our ability to practice the religion we chose. They witnessed firsthand that when government or the monarchy didn’t like to be challenged or heard other dissenting views and differing opinions, they did their best to isolate people and keep them from congregating. “United we stand, divided we fall “ Churches provide hope through the message, it teaches us to persevere, forgive, and love thy neighbor. Which is the opposite of selfishness, fear, and isolation. When we are together it reinforces responsible behavior, accountability and removes the focus from ourselves. Serving becomes the goal. I am not a Pollyanna, I recognize that some bad people can reflect badly on the rest of the group or community and convey the wrong message but together we have great opportunities to excel and unify our communities.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I don’t believe a government has the right to require an experimental vaccine to be given to any person without their consent. It should not be conditional to their employment or freedom to shop for groceries or visit relatives. In 1948 many countries including the United States adopted the Nuremberg code. A set of policies that explicitly stated that no individual would be subject to any experiment without the voluntary consent of that individual. With respect to those that can neither take (for medical or religious reasons) a messenger RNA injection or those that choose not too is not only a right but is a choice. Too often people have expressed concerns with me about how this vaccine avoided the traditional pathways and years of testing to receive support from CDC before it was approved by the FDA. It is also suspect that congress just months before waived liability to the pharmaceutical industry concerning vaccines or treatments. People have conveyed their mistrust of the process and the government, therefore without following proper procedures it is viewed as experimental. The federal government has a long way to go in building trust back with the people. I am concerned about how our culture has shifted to a victim mentality. That we no longer look at our own choices but everybody else’s choices to determine if we’re healthy, wealthy, happy or comfortable in life. We live in a republic where personal responsibility, accountability and consequences exist, we should not forget that and avoid blaming others or making them responsible for our problems, challenges, issues or situations in life. No one promised life would be easy and without heartache.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
I don't believe you can eliminate the threat of Islamic terrorism. However, you can mitigate threats and impacts. Some countries use profiling, and it works well for them. We need to beef up our security at our borders as well as at our ports. I believe threats on our food system, infrastructure, energy system including infrastructure (transmission and pipelines) are real and we should make efforts to protect them. We should strongly consider working with the private sector and industry to figure out what safeguards can be put in place to protect infrastructure and take a common-sense/pragmatic approach to implementing. Too often government is dictating a solution or regulations without completely understanding the implications or impacts on the industry, community, or economy. We are not equipped to deal with terrorism in our backyard, communities or frankly our country. Some may recommend marshal law or drastic measures like they had in Germany in the “1930’s and 40’s” with documents that allowed you to travel with permission (Big Brother was everywhere). We need to be mindful that giving up our freedoms for a false sense of security is not good policy. The majority of our threats come from outside of our boarders, we need to continue to monitor threats at the source, and deal with it where it is generated from and work with as many local authorities in other countries as possible to eliminate or discourage activities and threats.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Disagree
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Agree
I believe we should hire 87,000 custom border patrol agents instead of IRS agents. Establish heat detection cameras in remote areas and build a wall in densely populated areas.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe we should allow those with different skill sets to seek a legal route and apply for a green card and citizenship and earn the right to be an American citizen. The reality is we have a workforce and supply chain issue and need labor and many could fill that void. We are a country that was created and built from immigrants. They desired to have some control over their own destiny, their own future, and it drove hundreds of thousands of people to North America to search for a better to life. They came from places of famine, unemployment, oppression, and persecution. Some traveled alone, others as a small family unit, but they were all willing to die free in the United States versus living under tyranny and oppression. Hence, the melting pot was born and we started to form a culture that supported and rewarded hard work and ingenuity. Those immigrants that came understood that they would have to acclimate and adjust. But also, whereas we exist as a republic, meaning we have certain rights we also have certain responsibilities, self-government also meant self-discipline. A respect for others lives, property and opinions are essential.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
With self-government one must practice self-discipline. Rule of law is structured from a value system, it is applicable to everyone, no exceptions. The framework needs a moral code that does not elevate one over the other, excuse or dismiss bad behavior. It establishes responsibility, accountability, and consequences. Without A moral compass our human nature and tendencies would steer us towards our own selfish desires that may do harm. We need to take the focus off ourselves and consider others
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Agree
Interesting concept, I’m confused why those that want to have the title given to there partnership in the form of "marriage" would care? if marriage was created and ordained by God why would one want the designation, marriage is a religious ceremony. I suppose government could call it anything they wanted. If it is being done to receive tax benefits, or qualifying for certain programs or benefits why does it need to be called marriage, call it a civil union.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I am broken like all people, but I am redeemable, repairable and continue to aspire to something greater than myself. I need grace and mercy and I need to do a better job of practicing.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Keep in mind that when you travel or deal with some type of financial transaction they will all ask you for your photo ID to prove who you are. There are different means besides a drivers license to acquire a legal photo ID. A few have argued that it is their legal and constitutional right to vote, I don't disagree. But you do need to prove if you're a US citizen and where are you live. Because you don't have the right to vote for elected positions where you don't live.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe we need to secure voting machines and periodically audit votes being calculated during the voting process to insure that no manipulation is taking place.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I don't believe it is. We have continued to become a more divisive nation, I think politicians have created and contributed more to this issue in recent years than ever before. I believe it can be associated with a lack of accountability and expectations. There is growing dissension and resentment among many because of favoritism, or an entity such as the government believing they are going to bring about equality and justice at the expense of others. This is poor judgment and bad policy. Think of your own family. If you as parents favor one of your children over the rest, then the others will grow to resent that child. It will create disharmony, frustration, anger and insecurity.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
I believe unrealistic and unreasonable environmental laws and regulations compromise personal security, energy security, economic security, and national security. We have invested billions of dollars in research and technology to support some of the cleanest sources of energy generation in the world. But it is largely dismissed and it's never good enough for the activist. They have more regard for mother earth than they do for their fellow man. Activist and environmentalist have created an insecure infrastructure network because they have intimidated local and state governments and mislead the public about traditional sources of energy and characterized all of them as dirty and bad. I disagree, we have come a long ways in the last 3 decades. Clean coal technology means that air coming out of those stacks is cleaner than the air coming into our country from across the ocean. Our own state has cleaner air leaving the state then the air that comes from Canada. Our oil and gas department has adopted many new policies and common-sense regulations that do not impede operators from their ability to produce abundant and affordable energy for the consumer. We have shrunken the footprint of drilling and producing operations because of multi well pads as well as changed antiquated practices with reserve pits and reclamation. With the adoption of hydraulic fracking in stable geological formations we can produce more with less inputs and impacts. All of which supports our nations energy independence. I'm supportive of renewable energy but opposed to how policy and political agendas are driving development. We’ve allowed some politicians and activist to treat CO2 as a toxic gas. Someone needs to take a refresher in biology 101. CO2 is essential for life, plants need it to grow. The more that is available the more vegetation is produced, that’s why greenhouses pump CO2 in to that environment. Flawed policies are covering productive farmland with solar panels. We have acres and acres of warehouses, businesses, and other structures that could support solar panels versus taking productive farmland out of operation, thus creating food insecurity. We have activists pushing their agenda in EPA for less coal, oil and gas and promote more battery powered/electric vehicles in the name of climate change and mother earth. They want tougher regulations for mining potash and phosphorus which are used as plant food. But don't realize or dismiss what a mining operation for rare earth materials and elements for batteries look like. They lack the science, chemistry and real world experience to dictate policy that ultimately is more damaging than what we're doing by continuing to streamline and create efficiencies and effective technologies to produce cleaner energy. Policies being driven by some in DC and activist will compromise food security, energy security, economic security and ultimately national security. Our personal well being and security is at risk. If these policies worked so well, why can’t the European Union feed themselves and why do they rely on other countries like Russia for their energy. Germany is a fine example of resources that remain untapped because they are considered dirty and bad. The EU economy is unstable and is propped up with unreasonable high taxes.
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
We have a very good geology too support hydraulic fracking.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
Our primary purpose in the executive branch is to implement, enforce and serve the public. Take the laws that are passed by the legislature and develop and the rules and regulations that are practical and not burdensome. My bookcase has century code in it, that tells me what I am doing, how I do it is my choice. We need to be accessible and responsive to the public.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
